  4. BACKSTAGE: Matt Hardy hugged Jeff Hardy and said he drove up to support his baby brother..
    • Matt Hardy hinted that when Jeff Hardy wins the WWE Championship that he wanted the first shot..

  5. GRUDGE MATCH: Mr. Kennedy defeated Shawn Michaels in a last minute match of the year contender..

  6. INTERVIEW: Todd Grisham & "The Game" Triple H..
    • Triple H said losing is never an option to him - at least Ric Flair will go out while wrestling the BEST..
    • Vince McMahon showed up and William Regal told HHH if he loses he will lose his spot in the Royal Rumble..

  7. HAPPY NEW YEAR: Jillian Hall sang while Big Dick Johnson danced and then Ron Simmons yelled DAMN!

  8. BACKSTAGE: Vince McMahon asked William Regal to take out Hornswoggle and show him some "tough love"..

  9. ROYAL RUMBLE QUALIFYING MATCH: Umaga defeated "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan (winner of the 1st Royal Rumble)..

  10. BACKSTAGE: Ric Flair & Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes + Vince McMahon..
    • Ric Flair was shaking hands with fellow WWE Superstars when Vince McMahon showed up to harass him again..
    • Ric Flair (wearing a DX t-shirt) stood there listening and realized once again it could be his last match..

  11. IN THE RING: John Bradshaw Layfield + Chris Jericho..
    • JBL drove his white stretch limosine into the RAW arena and was showered with black and red balloons..
    • JBL entered the ring, looked around and raised his arm and a bunch of fireworks went off (four times)..
    • This went on forever, with JBL soaking it up as if the crowd were cheering (actually they were booing)..
    • JBL said this day (January 31) would be known forever as the day that JBL returned and arrived on RAW..
    • JBL started jabbering about being powerful until Chris Jericho hit the ring and started brawling with JBL..

  12. BACKSTAGE: JBL reamed out the referees and road agents for being disrespected on his official RAW debut..

  13. WOMEN'S TITLE 3-WAY: Beth Phoenix defeated Mickie James and Melina Perez (pinned) to retain..

  14. TOUGH LOVE MATCH: William Regal w/Vince McMaho vs. Hornswoggle ended in a No Contest...
    • William Regal wrestled Hornswoggle down and had him in the position to punch him but he hesitated..
    • Willaim Regal got up to talk to Mr. McMahon and Hornswoggle attacked him from behind with some kicks..
    • William Regal grabbed Hornswoggle again but couldn't bring himself to punch him out with Brass Knuckles..
    • William Regal let him go and Hornswoggle ran away - so Vince McMahon got in and slapped William Regal!
    • Vince McMahon said he was testing William Regal and he just wanted to see if Regal would hit Hornswoggle..
    • Vince McMahon asked what has happened to William Regal inside and ordered him to get out of the ring...

  15. NON (IC) TITLE MATCH: Jeff Hardy vs. Santino Marella (w/Maria Kanellis & Carlito Cool) ended in a No Contest..
    • Randy Orton came up on the big screen yelling at Jeff Hardy that he beat the crap out of Matt Hardy backstage..
    • Jeff Hardy abandoned the match and ran backstage to check on his brother - Randy Orton had already escaped..

  16. BACKSTAGE: Ric Flair took exception to Triple H assuming the result of their match was a foregone conclusion..

  17. FLAIR's CAREER VS HHH's RUMBLE SPOT: "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair defeated Triple H by Disqualification..
    • Ric Flair applied the famous figure four leg lock and it was several minutes before Triple H broke the hold..
    • Triple H stood up and immediately Pedigreed Ric Flair, but didn't have the energy to cover The Nature Boy!
    • William Regal punched Ric Flair with Brass Knuckles, thereby screwing Triple H out of the Royal Rumble!
    • Triple H was upset but helped Ric Flair up and they hugged each other as the show went off the air..
