Dave Meltzer wrote (On July 3, 2010): The latest update on Ricky Steamboat is that doctors after an angiogram have determined his issues that caused bleeding on the brain were a capilarry burst, and not a brain aneurysm as originally diagnosed. That is significantly better. His condition has improved today but he is still expected to be hospitalized for several more days. His son noted that his father is a fighter and is battling back. Needless to say that is great news, that his condition is improving. He will need to be hospitalized until a second angiogram that is scheduled in four or five days, to monitor the bleeding.
Mike Aldren wrote (On July 5, 2010): Ricky Steamboat's health has improved to the point he is expected to return home to North Carolina later this week for a month of rest. Doctors in Tampa now believe that 57-year-old Steamboat suffered a ruptured blood vessel, which caused bleeding on his brain, and not technically an aneurysm as originally diagnosed. "The WWE has been completely supportive in their efforts to be sure Rick has the very best doctors," said a family member adding that the company will release more information on his condition in due course. WWE reported on Thursday, just hours after Steamboat was admitted to hospital, that his ailment was "most likely not related to his performance on Monday night." The company has since removed videos of last week's angle from it's website and YouTube channel.
Mike Aldren wrote (On October 23, 2010): Ricky Steamboat was back in Tampa this past week following his hospitalization in June. He was initially diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, later confirmed as a capillary burst or bleeding on the brain. Steamboat is said to be in high spirits and was looking forward to resuming his work with WWE, likely a role in developmental.
