In The Beginning - San Francisco: Pat Patterson wrestled as "Pretty Boy" Patterson, in the early-60's, which included red lipstick, and pink tights.. Pat Patterson dominated the San Francisco territory, winning multiple U.S. titles, as well as several tag team titles with Rocky Johnson.. Pat Patterson also won the 1975 Cow Palace Battle Royal -- a major event through the 70s.. Pat Patterson came back in 1981 to win the final Cow Palace Battle Royal when promoter Roy Shire was closing down the promotion.. Tamalie (via the Wrestling Classics Message Board wrote: In the early 1970s Pat Patterson wore a mask in the San Francisco area for a while. He always was billed under his own name and made no effort to hide his identity. His official reason for wearing a mask was to hide his facial expressions so his opponents couldn't tell if he was in pain. The real reason was so he could load the mask with foreign objects to headbutt the babyfaces for cheap wins.
