WWE SmackDown kicks off with shots of WWE Women’s Champion Bayley entering the arena. We also see Naomi walking backstage and we cut to inside the arena.
LA Knight’s music hits and out he comes to the ring for his match.
Number one contender match – LA Knight vs. AJ Styles
The bell rings and we are under way. Both men are face to face to start the match. A kick by AJ and he gets Knight into a head lock. Knight with elbows and he gets AJ into a head lock. AJ throws Knight to the ropes and a clothesline by Knight takes AJ down. Knight throws AJ to the outside of the ring. Knight slams AJ’s head into the announce table and back into the ring. Knight gets on the ring apron and as he is getting into the ring, AJ with a kick. AJ grabs Knight but Knight throws him back to the outside and Knight with a baseball slide onto AJ.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, a double cross body in the middle of the ring. Both men back up, Knight with right hands and a running knee. He places AJ up on the top rope and Knight with a superplex. He goes for the cover but AJ kicks out. He runs towards AJ but AJ with a back elbow. AJ jumps off the second rope, a moon sault, he lands on his feet and hits an inverted DDT. He goes for the cover but Knight kicks out. AJ on the ring apron, he goes for the Phenomenal Forearm, Knight ducks, AJ lands on his feet but Knight hits him with a powerslam. Knight with a jumping elbow drop. Knight goes for the BFT but AJ rolls onto the ring apron. Knight grabs AJ but AJ hangs him up on the top rope and he lands a poke to the eyes without the referee seeing it. AJ hits him with the Phenomenal Forearm. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: AJ Styles
They air clips of last week’s SmackDown involving The Bloodline. We see Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga attacking Jimmy Uso.
We cut to the parking lot. Paul Heyman is standing outside and Solo Sikoa steps out of a black SUV wearing a suit. Heyman tells him he is looking sharp and Tama Tonga stands behind Paul Heyman and Heyman looks nervous. Solo tells Heyman that Tama is his MFT. Solo asks Heyman if Kevin Owens is in the arena. Heyman tells him that he is and Solo tells Heyman to take him to Owens.
-Commercial Break-
We see Pittsburgh Steelers players in attendance.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis is in the ring. It’s a blue mat and a stand behind him. He introduces the WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque to the ring. Triple H’s nusic hits and out he comes to the ring. While walking down, the screen scrambles and a QR code is displayed for a second and we cut back to Triple H getting into the ring.
The fans chant “Triple H” and he welcomes every one to SmackDown. He says Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis are doing an incredible job in leading their respective brands into the future. He says the future is bright but when talking about the future, you have to talk about the history and when history is made, it is talked in a positive light. Aldis introduces the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller to the ring.
Out come Theory and Waller with their Championship belts. Waller says on Monday, Triple H got to award the second best Championships to Awesome Truth and tonight Triple H will honor them with their new Championships. Theory says that R-Truth called Triple H a magician but he doesn’t know what kind of magic trick he has that will make them look better than they already do.
Triple H tells them with that said, congratulations on becoming Tag Team Champions and to show them what they will have, being known as the WWE Tag Team Champions. He reveals the Championships and it resembles the old WWE Tag Team Championships from the 1990s.
He extends his hand to shake Waller’s hand but Waller laughs. Aldis tells him if he disrespects Triple H again, he will make “A-Town Clown Under” disappear. Aldis grabs their old title belts and says the fatal four way tag team match starts now.
-Commercial Break-
Kayla Braxton is backstage with Naomi. She tells Kayla that she loves Bayley, she helped her against Damage CTRL but she won’t let friendship get in the way of a Championship match. It has been two years since she had a singles Championship match.
Fatal 4-Way Match to determine No. 1 Contender’s for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships: The Street Profits vs. New Catch Republic vs. Legado del Fantasma vs. Authors of Pain
Austin Theory and Grayson Waller are on commentary. The bell rings and we are under way. Bate and Ford start the match. Both men exchange reversals and cover attempts. Humberto slaps Bate and tags himself in. They double team Ford and Angel is tagged in. He goes for the cover but Ford kicks out. Dawkins is tagged in and a flying back elbow onto Angel. Ford gets on the top rope but AOP get in the ring and knock him down.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Rezar is in the ring with Ford but Bate tags himself in and The New Catch Republic are in the ring. They double team Rezar. In come Angel and they double team him. Rezar gets back to his feet and Bate tries to lift him up but Rezar knocks him down. The Street Profits and The New Catch Republic get Rezar on Bate’s shoulders and he goes for the airplane spin but Angel and Humberto break it up. All four teams fight in the ring. Humberto tags himself in and he is legal. Humberto goes for the cover on Bate but Pete breaks it up and everyone is down. The New Catch Republic with ankle locks on Angel and Humberto but Humberto pushes Bate away onto Pete and it’s broken up.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Rezar is in the ring with Dawkins and Bate. He tags Akam in but New Catch Republic take them down. In come Fantasma Del Legado and all four teams fight in the ring. They team up against AOP and throw them to the outside. Humberto tags himself in and he goes for the cover on Dawkins but Dawkins kicks out. He runs towards Dawkins but Dawkins throws him across the ring. Ford is tagged in and they hit him with the Blockbuster off the top rope. Ford goes for the cover but Bate breaks it up. Ford with a kick onto Bate, Humberto with a jaw breaker and Bate is tagged in and every one is on the outside. The New Catch Republic with moon saults off the second rope and Ford with a flying senton over the top rope onto Legado Del Fantasma and AOP. Bate throws Humberto back into the ring. Bate goes for the Tyler Driver but Humberto gets out of it and hits him with a clothesline. Angel is tagged in and they double team Bate. Angel with a moon sault off the second rope. He goes for the cover but Ford with a frog splash off the top rope breaks it up. Dawkins tags himself in. He throws Angel to the ropes and they hit him with the Revelation. Dawkins goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winners: The Street Profits
Out come Bobby Lashley and B-Fab to celebrate with The Street Profits in the ring.
Byron Saxton is backstage with Bayley. She tells him that after seeing Rhea vacate her title on Raw, it makes her appreciate it more. And she is the only women’s champion in WWE but she does not take that for granted. There is one thing that is not going to change and that is her as the WWE Women’s Champion.
We cut to Solo and Paul Heyman. He apologizes to Solo telling him they can’t find Kevin Owens but they will find him. Solo begins to walk away but Heyman stops him. He tells him he is not trying to piss him off, the last person on the planet he wants to piss off is Solo. He tells Solo that respectfully, he is making decisions that are not his yet. These are decisions that can only be made by one man. Solo asks him if he is done. Heyman asks him if his MST is coming with them. Solo raises his thumb, his music hits and we see Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman walk down to the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa are in the ring. Paul Heyman introduces himself and he talks about the backstage politics within The Bloodline. The fans chant “We want Roman” and Heyman tells them that as the wiseman for… But Solo snatches the microphone away from him.
The fans chant “Solo sucks”. He begins to talk but the fans boo him. He says last week he had to lose a brother in order for him to find a new one. His MFT, Tama Tonga. The fans continue to boo and we cut to the ramp. Kevin Owens is down on the ring and Tama Tonga steps from behind and throws him across the ramp. WWE officials run down and try to break it up. Tama Tonga steps over Owens and gets into the ring. Owens is bleeding on the side of the head.
Tama Tonga raises his hand in the ring, Solo and Heyman raise their hands. Owens runs back down. He grabs Tama Tonga to the outside but Solo throws Owens into the ring steps and into the ring. Tama Tonga gets in the ring but Owens trips him up. Security breaks it up but Solo with a Samoan Spike onto Owens. Tama Tonga with right hands onto Owens. He pushes security away but more security runs down and breaks it up.
Tama Tonga goes to the outside and grabs a steel chair. Nick Aldis gets in the ring and stands in front of Owens. Solo tells Tama Tonga to back off. He grabs the chair from Tama and throws it to the outside. Tama Tonga and Kevin Owens leave the ring with Paul Heyman with him and he is scared. Tama Tonga raises his hand, Solo looks at Heyman and Heyman raises his hand. Solo stands in the middle and raises his hand.
-Commercial Break-
Nick Aldis is outside and he grabs Paul Heyman. He asks him if he knew about this. And we see a car had rammed into another car with smoke coming out. Aldis tells Heyman that one of those cars belongs to Kevin Owens. Heyman says he did not know about this. Aldis tells him that on SmackDown, these things get resolved in the ring.
Carlito with Zelina Vega vs. Santos Escobar with Elektra Lopez
The bell rings and we are under way. Carlito with right hands and a spinebuster. He goes for the cover but Escobar kicks out. He throws Escobar to the ropes and Carlito with a dropkick. Escobar to the outside and Carlito with a cross body over the top rope onto Escobar on the outside.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Escobar with a chop to the chest in the corner. He places Carlito on the top rope and kicks him to the side of the head. Escobar climbs the second rope and he lands a hurricanrana. He goes for the cover but Carlito kicks out. He grabs Carlito but Carlito with punches and a clothesline. Carlito to the ropes and a knee to the face. He goes for the cover but Escobar kicks out. Carlito climbs the second rope but Elektra Lopez gets on the ring apron and distracts the referee. Zelina trips her up. Zelina goes for a hurricanrana on the ring apron but Elektra Lopez grabs her and slams her into the barricade. Carlito on the ring apron and as he is getting into the ring, Escobar kicks the second rope. He grabs Carlito and hits him with the Phantom Driver. Escobar goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Santos Escobar
Kayla Braxton is in the luxury box with Damage CTRL. Dakota tells Kayla that IYO will get her title back when she is ready. They are there to watch two people they can’t stand tear each other apart. Dakota says the Kabuki Warriors are still the Women’s Tag Team Champions and that won’t change.
Jade Cargill’s music hits and we see Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair appear next to them in the luxury box. Naomi’s music hits and out she comes for her match.
-Commercial Break-
A previously recorded promo by Cody Rhodes airs. He talks about how it will be two Georgia boys, he and AJ Styles at Backlash. He calls AJ Styles the modern excellence of execution.
WWE Women’s Championship – Bayley (c) vs. Naomi
The bell rings and we are under way. A head lock take down by Bayley. She goes for the cover but Naomi kicks out. Bayley with a hip toss. She runs to the ropes and knocks Naomi down with a shoulder tackle. Both women on their feet and a double cross body. Naomi with a drop kick and a bull dog. She goes for the cover but Bayley kicks out. Naomi runs to the ropes and she hits Bayley with the Rear View. She goes for the cover but Bayley kicks out.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Naomi slams Bayley face first into the turnbuckle. Naomi with a cross body off the top rope. She goes for the cover but Bayley kicks out. Naomi goes for a bulldog but Bayley throws Naomi face first into the turnbuckle. A belly to back suplex by Bayley. She goes for the cover but Naomi kicks out. Bayley climbs the top rope and she goes for the elbow drop but Naomi gets her knees up. Naomi on the ring apron and she jumps over the top rope and lands a face buster. She goes for the cover but Bayley kicks out. Naomi goes for the split legged moon sault but Bayley gets her knees up.
Bayley with a knee to the face. Bayley climbs the top rope and lands the elbow drop. She goes for the cover but Naomi kicks out. Bayley goes for the Rose Plant but Naomi with a kick to the face. Naomi with a sunset flip but Bayley kicks out. Naomi with a head lock submission but Bayley reverses it into a cover and Naomi kicks out. Both women with forearms to the face and Naomi with a knee to the face, Bayley falls to the outside. Naomi with a splash over the top rope onto the outside of the ring. Bayley with a Bayley to belly onto the announce table. Tiffany Stratton jumps the rail and hits Bayley with a forearm and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: By disqualification, Bayley
Tiffany Stratton slams Naomi face first into the announce table and she throws Bayley into the ring steps. She grabs Naomi and throws her face first into the ring post. She throws them both into the ring. Tiffany climbs the top rope and hits them with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
She celebrates in the ring and SmackDown goes off the air.
