WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
5/24 Smackdown house show results from Las Cruces, NM: Rey Mysterio over Chris Jericho; John Morrison over Shelton Benjamin; Gail Kim & Eve Torres over Alicia Fox & Layla; Christian & Tommy Dreamer over Jack Swagger & Mark Henry; CM Punk over Dolph Ziggler; Kozlov defeated Finley; Crime Tyme over Charlie Haas & Mike Knox; and Edge pinned Jeff Hardy.
Successful show drawing around 10,000 on the grounds of New Mexico State University. Eddie Guerrero’s daughter Shaul Marie was sat at ringside.
Swagger and Henry got some decent heat working the match wearing masks to protect themselves from catching swine-flu.
Raw is live tonight from the Staples Center in Los Angeles with a 10-man tag of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Big Show and The Miz vs.
John Cena, Batista, MVP, Jerry Lawler and a mystery partner. As far as the mystery partner goes the best bets are Kennedy or Triple H. Also announced is Mr. McMahon vs. Stan Kroenke and Ric Flair will be “calling out” Orton. There are also two dark cage matches with Orton vs. Batista and Cena vs. Show plus two matches taped for Superstars.
The Smackdown/ECW tapings also from Staples Center on Tuesday has Eve vs. Lalya, and a dark cage match with Edge vs. Jeff Hardy. We’re looking for reader reports from both tapings to you2us@wrestlingglobe.com.

Just want to wish all our readers a Happy Memorial Day.
The Iron Sheik was invited Raw after they found out he was doing a show with Celine Jian tonight at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles. They may be doing some pre tapes with him this afternoon.
Former Diva Joy Giovanni will also be at the show.
We know they are doing a lot of papering for the tapings. If you print out this coupon at http://tinyurl.com/qg6psv and take it to the Staples Center box office tonight or tomorrow you will get 20% off any priced ticket.
We’re told WWE will start to push the Randy Savage DVD over the next couple of weeks. Savage had no involvement in the project and the chances of him actually appearing on TV are slim to none according to those who would know.
Jakks Pacific at http://tinyurl.com/qwqoz6 are releasing an internet exclusive Kane/Vader Classic twin-pack this week, which is a limited edition from their feud in 1998.

TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING NEWS
5/24 Sacrifice PPV results from Orlando, FL: The Amazing Red over
Kiyoshi in the pre show; Lethal Consequences & Eric Young over The Motor
City Machine Guns & Sheik Abdul Bashir; Taylor Wilde over Daffney in a
Monster’s Ball match; Suicide over Daniels to retain the X-Division
title; Angelina Love over Awesome Kong to retain the Knockouts title;
Samoa Joe over Kevin Nash; Beer Money, Inc. over The British Invasion in
the finals of the Team 3D tournament; AJ Styles over Booker T in an I
Quit match to retain the Legends title; and Sting won the Ultimate
Sacrifice match to become The Godfather of the Main Event Mafia while
Mick Foley remains TNA Champion.
In Brief: Lethal Consequences & Eric Young over The Motor City Machine
Guns & Sheik Abdul Bashir opened the show. Good at times but a total
spot fest. Finish was Lethal pinning Bashir with a sunset flip when
referee Andrew Thomas kicked Bashir’s hands as he was holding the
ropes… Wilde over Daffney in a very short match. They teased
afterwards that Abyss, who was in Daffney’s corner, was going to slam
Wilde on to some thumb tacks. Lauren ran out to talk to Abyss. He
changed his mind and slammed Dr. Stevie on the tacks instead. Looks like
they are moving on to Dr. Stevie & Daffney vs. Abyss & Lauren…
Suicide-Daniels was a weird finish. Daniels won the match after some
interference from the Machine Guns. Daniels, not realising the Guns
interjected, asked to restart the match and go for another five minutes.
All the while Don West was saying that the match was a work and it was
planned out for Daniels to win as Daniels is Suicide and he put a jobber
under the mask to face him. Suicide ended up retaining when the extra
five minutes expired. Booking was far too complex and probably lost the
majority of the audience… Love-Kong was also kept short. Finish was
Love, who has new hair extensions, spraying Kong in the eyes behind the
refs back for the cheap win. No spray actually came out of the bottle
but Kong sold it anyway. After the match Kong destroyed Love with two
implant-busters. No Cute Kip or Velvet Sky… Joe tapped out Nash and
the beatdown continued afterwards. Nobody from the Mafia ran in for the
save… Beer Money, Inc. won the finals of the Team 3D tournament for a
title shot and $10,000 of Monopoly money… AJ Styles retained the
Legends title over Booker T after Styles caught Booker in an arm bar and
Jenna Morasca ran out and threw in the towel. So technically he didn’t
quit and they further tease the friction between Morasca and Sharmell
who wasn’t happy with the outcome… Main event was well worked with
Jarrett and Angle carrying the match in the ring while Foley and Sting
brawled around the Impact Zone. The finish was Sting suplexing Foley on
the floor as Jarrett gave Angle a stroke off the middle rope onto a
chair in the ring. Sting took advantage and stole the pinfall from
Jarrett.
The TV tapings are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, which will be four
weeks worth of TV right up to the Slammiversary PPV on 6/21. We’re
looking to hear from any readers attending the tapings at
you2us@wrestlingglobe.com.

The former Victoria (Lisa Marie Varon) debuts under her own name today
at the tapings. They are also hyping two “former TNA World champions” as
returning which will be Shane Douglas and Raven. As regulars I don’t see
the upside here. Both guys are mid-40s and way past their prime. My last
memory of them in TNA was a match where Douglas vomited in the ring
towards the end because he was so blown up.
For what it’s worth I know they have also talked recently to Ken
Shamrock about coming in.
The main event for Slammiversary was officially announced last night as
a seven-man King of the Mountain match. They are doing qualifying
matches at the tapings this week. The booking sheets include Suicide vs.
Amazing Red for the X-Division title and Angelina Love vs. Sojo Bolt for
the Knockouts title which will air on Impact on Thursday.
The company announced a return to the UK in January, 2010. In a
promotional video they claimed sold out shows on the last UK tour which
is a stretch although they did set a company attendance record with over
7000 fans at the O2 Arena in London.

OTHER WRESTLING NEWS
Gary Smith, Linda Bollea’s rep, after watching Brooke Hogan call her mom
out for allegedly doing drugs in a webchat on PerezHilton.com sent the
following statement to the celebrity blogger: “Perez, if Brooke
continues to spew lies on behalf of her father’s lame attempt to
distance himself from the reality that he is no different from the
homicidal OJ Simpson, Charlie will be forced to put aside his
paramedic/firefighting career path and release an album called
‘Redemption’ which will easily surpass any of Brooke’s records sales.
Brooke has always had a problem telling the truth. If it is her claim
that her breasts are natural or she hasn’t been banging the crap out of
the pot head $tack (her rapper boyfriend) for the last 3 years, then her
comments of Charlie being a year and a half younger than her are again a
complete fabrication they are 4 months apart. She only judges Charlie
because of his long hair and age, Linda doesn’t judge. Here are some
cold hard facts; these people who say Linda is doing drugs are friends
of Hulk Hogan. Brooke is Hulk’s only remaining mouthpiece and a pawn in
his game of control. Linda will walk into any drug testing facility and
take a random test and the truth will be she is clean. Put your money
where your mouth is Brooke aka Hulk. Brooke ‘thinks’ she’s doing drugs
is a hypocrisy when her father and $tack are rolling and smoking joints
together in Brooke’s recording session, and Brooke knows it. As for
Charlie, he is an accomplished Spring board diver (4th in the
Nationals), eagle scout and certified captain in commercial boating with
his bigger goal of joining the fire department. Linda’s definition of a
good time is hitting a 8:30 am mass at St Max’s and grabbing some Cuban
food at Versailles. We aren’t here to kiss anyone’s ass but Linda would
love spend a fun California day with Perez with or without that famous
garlic chicken, but you have to go to mass.” Just wow…
