Fightful Select has reported that the Motor City Machine Guns have officially signed with WWE, according to sources within the company.

This comes off the heels of a statement from Dave Meltzer earlier in the day per F4WOnline, noting that the former TNA Tag Team Champions were expected to debut in NXT “imminently.”

The duo of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, who have each had their own championship success in and out of TNA, entered free agency after their deals expired in April before reportedly talking to both WWE and AEW.

Fightful Select noted that some creative pitches were planned for a possible run with the latter, but these plans did not end up happening.

It is unclear as of this writing when the team might debut, though it could line up with the start of a new era for NXT when the brand premieres on The CW on Tuesday, October 1.
