Footage is shown from Super Tuesday II when Finn Bálor defeated Adam Cole to win the vacant NXT Championship. We also saw Candice LeRae get into an altercation with Tegan Nox, as well as Rhea Ripley defeating Mercedes Martinez in a Steel Cage Match.
Shotzi Blackheart vs. NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai
This will be a non-title match.
The bell rings, and they circle the ring. Blackheart goes for a handshake, but Shirai slaps her hand away. They lock up, and Blackheart takes her down. Shirai avoids a big boot, but Blackheart ducks a clothesline. Blackheart slides under another clothesline and howls at the NXT Women’s Champion. Blackheart sidesteps her and grabs the legs, but Shirai kicks her away. Blackheart flips over her, so Shirai does some handsprings. Blackheart takes her down for a one count. Shirai takes her down for a one count. Shirai grabs a crucifix pin, but Blackheart kicks out. Blackheart slams her and executes a jackknife pin, but Shirai transitions into a pin for a two count. Shirai tries to stretch her, but Blackheart gets out and stretches the arms. Shirai tries to get the bottom rope, but can’t reach. Shirai eventually claws over and gets a rope break. Blackheart gives a clean break.
Blackheart charges, but Shirai sidesteps her. Blackheart quickly drops her on the apron and forearms her. Blackheart goes for a running attack, but Shirai moves. Shirai kicks her back and (sort of) hits an Asai Moonsault. Shirai gets her in the ring and covers for a two count.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from the break to see Blackheart reverse a whip on Shirai to the corner. Blackheart dropkicks and avalanches her before delivering some forearms. Blackheart follows up with a facebuster. Blackheart knees her, but Shirai blocks another one and forearms her. They trade forearm shots before Blackheart avoids an enzuigiri. Blackheart tries to take her down, but Shirai counters into a crossface submission. Blackheart claws for the ropes, but is too far away. Shirai cinches in the submission, but Blackheart manages to get the tip of her boot on the ropes for a break.
Blackheart avoids an avalanche and hits an enzuigiri. Blackheart kicks her into the ropes and hits a big splash against the ropes. Blackheart welcomes her to the ballpit and grabs her, but Shirai holds the middle rope. Blackheart rips her arms off the ropes and hits a dragon suplex for a near fall. Blackheart transitions into a double underhook submission, but Shirai gets out. Blackheart lifts her up, but Shirai gets out and hits a flapjack. Blackheart leans against the ropes, so Shirai hits a tiger feint kick. Shirai connects with a missile dropkick off the top rope for a near fall.
Shirai heads to the top rope, but Blackheart sweeps the feet. Blackheart follows up with a scary super hurricanrana for a near fall. There looks to be a bruise and some cuts on Blackheart’s forehead. Blackheart goes to the top rope, but Shirai cuts her off. Shirai goes for a superplex, but Blackheart knocks her to the apron. Blackheart goes for a move on the apron, but Shirai gets out. Shirai then hits a high-angle German Suplex on the apron! Wow! The referee checks on Blackheart. Shirai gets her in the ring and covers for a near fall.
Shirai connects with double knees in the corner. Blackheart looks dazed. Shirai hits an Over The Moon Moonsault that sees her shins connect HARD on Blackheart’s ribs. Shirai picks up the win.

Io Shirai helps Shotzi Blackheart to her feet. They shake hands and show respect to each other.

An NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contender Battle Royal will take place next week on NXT. It will feature Rhea Ripley, Tegan Nox, Shotzi Blackheart, Raquel Gonzalez, Kayden Carter, Xia Li, Kacy Catanzaro, Indi Hartwell, Aliyah, Dakota Kai, and Candice LeRae.
Desmond Troy vs. Tommaso Ciampa
They lock up, and Troy goes for a takedown. Ciampa gets to the ropes before being taken off his feet. Ciampa knees him in the face, takes him down, and applies a deep chin lock. Ciampa gets up and takes him down. Troy comes back with a roll-up for a two count. Troy dropkicks him, but Ciampa bounces back and forearms him down. Ciampa viciously clotheslines him in the corner and stomps away at him. Ciampa hits a catapult into the bottom turnbuckle. Troy’s face hit hard. Ciampa grabs Troy on the apron and hits Willow’s Bell for the win.

Ciampa grabs a chair at ringside, but Jake Atlas runs out to the stage. Atlas says he got his ass kicked by Ciampa a few weeks ago. Atlas could have attacked him from behind, but he’s not a coward. Atlas also knows how dangerous Ciampa is because he’s been at the top of the food chain for so long. Next week, he’ll show Ciampa that it’s his turn to eat.
Footage is shown of Drake Maverick arriving earlier today. The interviewer says Killian Dain doesn’t want to team with Maverick against the Undisputed ERA tonight. Maverick says they’ll win as a team, though he hasn’t heard from Dain once and doesn’t have his cellphone number.
We’ll hear from NXT Champion Finn Bálor, next.

NXT Champion Finn Bálor is shown backstage. Bálor says everyone wanted to know who was greatest: him or Adam Cole. Cole is undisputed, but there’s only one prince. The questions keep coming. What’s it like to be champion four years apart? How is NXT different then vs. now? How will this reign be different from the last?
Four years ago, he was tasked with building the brand and being the brand. The future is different. Bálor doesn’t need the brand. He made the brand and now it needs him. Finn Bálor as champion makes this the most important title in the game. It doesn’t matter what country or brand. He’s been fighting for 20 years. Now people need to fight to face the champion. Form a queue because the line starts here, but you better look both ways before you face the Prince.
Austin Theory makes his way to the ring. Theory says he is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. Last week’s loss against Bronson Reed was a fluke and he’ll prove it. Theory challenges anyone in the back to step up to him. Kushida answers the call.
Austin Theory vs. Kushida
Kushida walks right up to Theory and hits an enzuigiri that knocks him out of the ring. Theory gets in the ring, and the bell rings to start the match. Kushida takes Theory down and applies a front facelock. Theory scrambles to get away. Theory grabs a front facelock, but Kushida easily gets out. Kushida goes for an arm bar, but Theory gets out. Theory powers him to the corner and clotheslines him down. Theory punches away at him and clubs the back. Theory hits a snap suplex and covers for a one count. Kushida fights back, but Theory takes him down. Theory boots him in the face and goes for a standing moonsault, but Kushida moves. Kushida kicks Theory in the elbow and continues attacking the arm. Kushida takes him down and hits a basement dropkick. Kushida hits a handspring avalanche while Theory was leaning against the ropes. Theory gets out of the ring to recover. Kushida follows him out, but Theory cuts him off. Theory goes to forearm him against the ring post, but he hits the ring post hard when Kushida moves. Kushida then hits an arm breaker on the floor! Kushida gets him in the ring, stomps away at the face, and applies the Hoverboard Lock for the submission.
Winner by Submission: Kushida
Kushida holds the submission on for a few more moments. The referee ordered him to let go.
-Commercial Break-
We’re at the Gargano household. Candice LeRae is complaining about Tegan Nox. Johnny Gargano is mad they’re spending their four year anniversary watching TV in the guest room after Nox broke their big TV. LeRae tells him to buy a new one. LeRae talks about being in the #1 Contender’s Battle Royal. Gargano cuts her off and talks about a new TV he found, but it won’t be there until tomorrow. Until now, they’ll have to watch the North American Championship match in standard definition, but that’s a good thing.
NXT Tag Team Championship
Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) (c’s) vs. Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel)
Imperium skips their entrance and runs down to brawl with Breezango. Breezango clears them from the ring. The referee restores order quickly.
It’ll be Fandango starting against Fabian Aichner. The bell rings, and Marcel Barthel knocks Tyler Breeze off the apron. Aichner punches Fandango down and hits a scoop slam. Aichner talks trash to him and tags Barthel in. Barthel attacks Fandango and bounces him off the top turnbuckle. Barthel stomps away at him in the corner and backs up. Fandango fights back, but Barthel quickly takes him down. Barthel punches away at him and talks trash to Breeze. Barthel uppercuts Fandango. Fandango fights back, but Barthel hits a jawbreaker. Aichner tags in and chokes Fandango on the ropes. Aichner connects with a back suplex and poses. Aichner kicks Fandango in the head and sends him to the ropes, but Fandango big boots him back. Fandango then knocks Barthel down on the apron. Aichner quickly boots Fandango down for a near fall. Fandango slaps the mat in frustration. Aichner applies a front facelock and tags Barthel in. Barthel rips at Fandango’s face and talks trash. Barthel then rips at Fandango’s ear. Barthel sends Fandango to the corner and uppercuts him before hitting a double underhook suplex for a near fall. Barthel applies a chin lock, but Fandango fights up. Barthel knocks him back to his corner and digs a knee into his face. Aichner tags in, but Fandango fights back at Imperium. Aichner throws Fandango into Barthel for an uppercut to the back of the head for a near fall. Barthel tags in, and Imperium connects with misdirection dropkicks on Fandango.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from the break to see Barthel applying a chin lock to Fandango. Fandango fights up and kicks Barthel in the face. Barthel stops him from making a tag, but Fandango hits a back elbow. Barthel manages to hold the pants, but Fandango viciously elbows him before hitting a clothesline.
Tyler Breeze and Aichner tag in. Breeze runs over him with a clothesline and a flying forearm. Breeze kicks Aichner down and dropkicks him to the corner. Breeze hits a flying forearm in the corner before kicking him in the face. Breeze takes him down and catches him with a single leg crab. Barthel runs in, but Breeze ducks a clothesline. Fandango then sends Barthel out of the ring. Breeze goes for a slam, but Aichner counters into a slam of his own. Fandango interferes for Breeze, and Breeze superkicks Aichner in the head. Breeze covers for a near fall. Aichner counters a double-team catapult/forearm by knocking Fandango off the apron. Aichner puts Breeze on the middle rope. Breeze fights him away and dives, but Aichner catches him mid-air with a suplex! Fandango breaks up the pin. Fandango sends Barthel out of the ring and drags Breeze to their corner.
Fandango tags in and goes for a running cross-body block to send Aichner out of the ring. Fandango flies over the top rope and Aichner stays in the ring. Fandango brawls with Imperium at ringside. Breeze goes to dive onto Aichner, but Aichner catches him for another suplex. Fandango pulls Breeze away and superkicks both members of Imperium. Fandango gets Aichner in the ring for a flying leg drop, but Aichner moves. Barthel kicks Fandango. Aichner follows up with a German Suplex for a near fall.
Fandango fights back at Aichner and hits a tornado DDT. Breeze and Barthel tag in. Breeze hits a flying forearm. Barthel trips him and uppercuts him. Barthel hits the ropes, but Breeze dropkicks him back. Aichner tags in and hits a spinebuster. Barthel then kicks him in the head. Imperium goes for a European Bomb. Fandango dropkicks Aicher to send Breeze into Barthel. Breeze rolls Aichner up for the win.

Jessi Kamea and Xia Li vs. Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter
Xia Li will start against Kayden Carter. Li twists the arm, but Carter twists out and wrenches Li’s arm. Li slaps out, but Carter takes her down with an arm drag. Catanzaro tags in and trips Li while Carter dropkicks her. Catanzaro attacks Li and covers for a two count. Carter tags in and covers Li for a two count. Li fights back and shoulder blocks her down. Kamea tags in, but Carter takes her down with an arm drag. Catanzaro tags in and forearms and kicks Kamea down with Carter for a near fall. Kamea clotheslines Catanzaro and tags Li in. Li bounces Catanzaro in the corner and chops the chest. Li knees away at Catanzaro and kicks her in the midsection for a near fall. Kamea tags in and hits a flying forearm in the corner. Kamea takes Catanzaro down and applies a straightjacket submission. Catanzaro fights out and avoids an avalanche.
Li and Carter tag in. They trade punches before Carter dropkicks her down. Li reverses a whip and goes for a roll-up, but Carter gets out and superkicks her. Kamea runs in and eats a superkick as well. Catanzaro tags in and pump kicks Li into a crucifix by Carter. Catanzaro then gets a jackknife pin on Li for the win.

Xia Li refuses to shake hands with Catanzaro and Carter and angrily walks off.
Drake Maverick fights Killian Dain backstage. Dain says he’s not going to team with Maverick. Maverick says he’ll see him out there and walks off.

Connor’s Cure is showcased.
Tegan Nox says she wanted to get her friend back, but it didn’t happen. Candice LeRae winning the Battle Royal next week isn’t happening either. Nox will win. Nox can’t wait to see LeRae’s face when she wins. As for Io Shirai, it’ll be different this time around.
The Undisputed ERA makes their way to the ring. Drake Maverick makes his entrance and waits on the ramp for Killian Dain, but he doesn’t show up. Maverick all of a sudden looks very worried. Maverick gets in the ring for a 2-on-1 Handicap Match.
The Undisputed ERA (Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish) vs. Drake Maverick
Bobby Fish happily starts against Drake Maverick. Maverick knocks Roderick Strong down, but Fish takes him and slams him down. Strong tags in, and the UE double-teams him down. Strong chops the chest and tells Maverick he made a big mistake. Maverick goes for a slingshot over Strong, but Strong puts the brakes on and clubs him down. Strong chops the chest and kicks Maverick in the midsection. Maverick avoids a running knee in the corner and fights back at Strong. Maverick slingshots over him and charges, but Strong big boots him down. Fish tags in, but Maverick punches him back. Maverick knees Fish in the arm and goes to the second rope for a missile dropkick. Maverick picks up a two count. Maverick swings at Strong, but Strong avoids him. Fish takes Maverick down and knees him. Strong tags in as Maverick fights back at Fish. Strong hits Maverick with a spinebuster. Killian Dain is shown backstage looking disappointed in Maverick. Strong hits a uranage backbreaker for another near fall. Dain is laughing. Strong then applies a modified clutch, but Maverick fights up. Maverick shoulders him, but Strong comes back with a second uranage spinebuster.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from the break to see Fish attacking Maverick’s leg.
NXT General Manager William Regal walks up to Killian Dain backstage. Regal asks if he’s really going to allow that to happen. Dain agrees to go out there.
Strong viciously takes Maverick down before Fish tags back in. The UE then throws Maverick out of the ring. Killian Dain walks down and grabs Maverick. Dain puts Maverick in the ring and tells him to “lose like a man.” Dain then walks off. The Undisputed ERA is happy. Strong calls Dain “fat.” Dain looks mad and turns around. They throw Maverick at him, but he sidesteps it. Dain takes Fish down and runs over Strong in the ring. Dain angrily punches away at Fish in the corner and grinds at the face. Fish then hits Dain in the midsection with a steel chair. The referee throws the match out.
Winners by Disqualification: Drake Maverick and Killian Dain
Maverick pulls the chair away from Fish. Dain knocks Strong out of the ring. Maverick pulls the top rope down as Dain throws Fish out of the ring. Maverick flips out and celebrates with Dain. Maverick shouts that they’re a team now. Dain responds by laying him out with a right hand and leaving him in a broken heap.
An interviewer finds Jake Atlas and says he made a bold move by challenging Tommaso Ciampa next week. Atlas says Ciampa lit a fire in him. Ciampa all of a sudden attacks him from behind and sends him into some pipes. NXT officials and Kyle O’Reilly run up and tell Ciampa to get away.
Timothy Thatcher is shown warming up backstage. Elsewhere, NXT North American Champion Damian Priest is warming up. Their match is next.
-Commercial Break-
NXT General Manager William Regal says we need to determine a new #1 Contender for the NXT Championship. 5 Men will compete in a brand new match: the NXT Gauntlet Eliminator Match. Two men will start in the ring. Every 4 minutes, another competitor will enter. You can only be eliminated by pinfall or submission. The last man standing will be the #1 Contender for the NXT Championship and fight for the title at NXT TakeOver on October 4.
Next week on NXT, we’ll have an NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contender Battle Royal. Tommaso Ciampa will also face Jake Atlas.
NXT North American Championship
Damian Priest (c) vs. Timothy Thatcher
They lock up, and Thatcher quickly applies a neck vice. Thatcher hooks the left arm and applies a side headlock. Priest quickly takes him down and hits an arm drag. Thatcher backs up and dusts himself off. They lock up, and Priest hooks a side headlock. Priest rolls him up for a two count. Priest hits another arm drag and applies an arm bar. Thatcher fights up and quickly takes him down with a headlock. Priest fights up and shoulder blocks Thatcher down. Thatcher angrily gets up and uppercuts him. Priest punches him back, but Thatcher head-butts the arm. Thatcher puts him on the apron and uppercuts him to the floor. Thatcher follows him outside, but Priest attacks him. Priest shakes feeling into his arm and goes for a powerbomb on the floor. Thatcher fights it and drives him into the steel steps. Thatcher follows up with a double-arm suplex on the floor.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from the break to see Thatcher stretching Priest on the mat. Thatcher covers him for a two count. Priest is in pain and pulls himself up. Priest fights back with some punches, but Thatcher blocks one and slaps him in the face. That slap fired Priest up. Priest punches and kicks away at Thatcher’s arms before taking him down. Priest then wipes him out with a stiff clothesline.
Priest goes to the corner and gets fired up. Priest hits a running elbow to the corner followed by a release suplex for a near fall. Priest grabs him by the throat, but Thatcher goes for the arm. Priest responds with a stiff kick to the face. Priest brings him to his knees with a second kick and goes for a springboard somersault senton, but Thatcher moves. Thatcher goes for an arm bar, but Priest fights it. Thatcher knees him in the ribs and uppercuts him. Priest forearms and knees him back. Thatcher blocks a kick, absorbs a punch, and takes Priest down. Priest kicks him away, but Thatcher takes him down by the leg again. Thatcher gets a single leg crab applied, but Priest fights out. Thatcher soon applies a Fujiwara Armbar, but Priest gets his foot on the bottom rope to break the hold. Priest gets out of a double underhook suplex and hits a big flatliner. Priest connects with South of Heaven for a near fall.
Thatcher tries for another Fujiwara Armbar, but Priest gets out and stuns him with a kick to the jaw. Priest goes to the top rope for a flying spinning heel kick. Priest gets pumped up and hits the Reckoning for the win.

Damian Priest holds his arm in pain, but he celebrates with the NXT North American Championship after his first successful title defense.
