IN THE RING
Matt Striker + NXT Rookies: Matt introduced the NXT rookies. Matt said in 2 weeks the eliminations will start. Matt said whoever remains will not only be the next breakout star, but also earn a PPV championship match. Matt said last week they had the physical challenge rock em’ sock em’ rookies, won by Skip Sheffield. Matt said this week they would test likability and salesmanship with something called the seal the deal challenge. Matt said each rookie would go out into the arena and try to sell as much merchandise as possible in 60 seconds. Matt said whoever has the largest cash amount will not only win the competition, but get a match against the WWE pro of their choosing.
SEAL THE DEAL CHALLENGE
Skip Sheffield & Matt Striker: Matt gave Skip some overpriced programs (15.00 a pop). Skip managed to sell 4 programs, 60 bucks. Skip was at a disadvantage because his territory was the front row, he didn’t have fans all around him and most of them were probably broke since they spent all their money on front row tickets. Matt said it was now time for the first match of the night.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Chris Jericho & Wade Barrett defeated Christian & Heath Slater: Heath and Chris started off. Heath knocked Chris down so he tagged in Wade. Heath tagged in Christian after wrenching Wade’s arm. Wade managed to level Christian with a big boot, followed by tagging in Chris. Christian made the hot tag to Heath after dropping Chris with an inverted DDT. Heath ducked a punch and turned it into a neckbreaker. Wade broke up the pin so Christian hit him with a cross body block. Chris tried to lock in the walls of Jericho but Heath rolled him up again, Chris got out and hit the code breaker for win.
SEAL THE DEAL CHALLENGE
Daniel Bryan & Matt Striker: Daniel said he’s not a capitalist and started throwing out programs for free. The fans went nuts for some reason, apparently programs are something to get excited about. There was an old lady near him who wanted one but he didn’t seem to notice.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Carlito Colon & Michael Tarver: Carlito was mad at Michael for losing last week. Carlito told Michael to practice by carrying his bags for him (this was earlier in the day outside the building).
SEAL THE DEAL CHALLENGE
Justin Gabriel & Matt Striker: Justin sold 22 programs, he made a joke about all the money looking the same to him and it took him a while to give one old man his change (I’m looking for anything to comment on during these boring segments).
SINGLES MATCH
Darren Young w/Serena & Luke Gallows defeated Michael Tarver w/Carlito Colon: Michael Irish whipped Darren hard into the turnbuckle, followed by a weird looking powerslam. Michael began jabbing at Darren in the corner. Luke was doing a really funny pose during the beginning of the match. Darren managed to take control with some shoulder blocks and a drop kick. Michael went up to the middle rope and jumped right into a punch to the midsection. Michael left the ring and punched Darren in the face when he followed. Michael stood up on the apron and pulled Darren into the steel ring post. The ref had his back turned to Serena so Luke could trip Michael at the apron. Darren hit his half nelson slam for the win moments later. After the match Luke pulled Serena away from Darren.
SEAL THE DEAL CHALLENGE
David Otunga & Matt Striker: The new total to beat was 210 dollars. David said celebrities don’t do manual labor and got 2 conveniently placed kids to do it for him. They seemed to do a horrible job but David made a bunch of money.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
R-Truth & David Otunga: R-Truth told David how to reverse the sunset flip. David said all Truth had to do was grab his hands. Truth said he don’t play that. Truth said it’s survival of the fittest, and that if he can’t run with the big dogs, he should stay on the porch.
SEAL THE DEAL CHALLENGE
Heath Slater & Matt Striker: David managed to sell 315 dollars worth of merchandise. He seemed to have trouble, dropping money and programs. Some chubby white kid with a World heavyweight title replica said “yeah boy” after buying one. Heath didn’t sell enough.
SEAL THE DEAL CHALLENGE
Darren Young & Matt Striker: Darren said he would choose Punk if he won. He took forever giving some kid one. He didn’t do a good job.
SEAL THE DEAL CHALLENGE
Michael Tarver & Matt Striker: Michael looked like he smelled something really bad. Michael grabbed the mic and said he doesn’t have to sell himself, WWE should sell him, he is the product. Michael stormed away saying he is the product.
SEAL THE DEAL CHALLENGE
Wade Barrett & Matt Striker: Wade said he already proved he’s the #1 rookie. Wade said his motivation isn’t where it needs to be to win the competition, but he likes money. Wade said he was going to take the change, put it in his back pocket, and then walk away, and there’s not a thing anyone can do. Wade walked away with the change.
BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Matt Striker & David Otunga: Matt asked David which pro he wanted to face next week. David said something’s really irritating, someone who thinks they know a little too much. David said he wants to face R-Truth. David said it’s time the student beats the teacher.
SINGLES MATCH
Skip Sheffield w/William Regal defeated Daniel Bryan w/Mike “The Miz” Mizanin: Miz had a huge bruise on the side of his face from being punched by The Big Show. Miz said it’s very painful for him to talk. Miz said due to the trauma inflicted on his face from Big Show sucker punching him, he won’t be able to compete tonight. Miz said Daniel Bryan would take his place. Skip picked up Daniel but Daniel began kicking Skip like crazy. Daniel took down Skip and began punching him before hooking in a leg lock. Daniel tried another kick but Skip caught his leg and then hit a big lariat. Skip hit a backpack chin breaker for the 3.
