WWE SmackDown kicks off with Roman’s music hitting and out comes Roman Reigns with Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. Michael Cole mentions that Roman has been champion for 1202 days. We see clips of last week’s tag team match main event where Randy Orton and LA Knight got the win against Jimmy Uso and Solo.
Roman tells Green Bay to acknowledge him and the fans put their fingers in the air and point to the sky. Roman tells them to shut their mouths. He said he would not have done that if they would have kept the boos down. He says it’s the Christmas season, it’s the holidays, he is here to celebrate. It’s promotion season because he is a good boss. He is a fair Tribal Chief. When someone is doing good, we let them know. When someone is doing bad, they smash them but that’s not tonight. And tonight is about one man, he has bent overt backwards, sacrificed everything, this man understands what it means to keep the family at the top of the mountain.
And if something happens to him, this person is the next in line. We see Jimmy smiling behind Roman. The fans chant “Randy” and Roman looks at the crowd. Roman says this isn’t for Randy Orton, this man is going to be responsible for the Bloodline. This is the next Tribal Chief. Roman tells Jimmy to join him in congratulating his brother, Solo. Jimmy looks around and Roman hugs Solo and tells him he loves him.
Randy Orton’s music hits and out he comes to the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Orton gets in the ring and the fans chant “Randy”. He says for 18 months, he has been thinking about this moment. About what he is going to do, what he is going to say but the only thing he really needs to tell Roman is that he is coming for him. He took 18 months from him, he is going to take everything away from him and he doesn’t care which one of his family members he has to go through to get the job done.
Randy tells Roman it starts tonight, it ends at the Royal Rumble because he is challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship. The fans chant “RKO” and Roman looks at the crowd.
Roman says by the sounds of the fans, it sounds like Orton deserves it. Roman says Orton was thinking about this for 18 months but Roman has not thought about him at all. He has been gone for 18 months, he has not done anything to earn this opportunity and he does not deserve this opportunity and he can go to the back of the line where he belongs. He says everyone wants to hang with the Tribal Chief but that’s not how it works. He tells Orton to do what he does which is to tap into that dumb head of his and to listen to that voice. He says it’s not 2007, he is head and shoulders above him and everyone else. He tells Randy if he has a match with him, he won’t be away for 18 months, it will be retirement because he is never coming back.
Randy says maybe Roman is right. He is looking in the eyes of the Tribal Chief and he can see that Roman has changed for the better. He is no longer just a historical Champion, he is a legend. Orton tells Roman that he has changed too. He has evolved but the one thing Randy Orton will forever be is a legend killer.
Orton goes to RKO Roman but Roman gets out of it. Orton tells Roman maybe he should start thinking about him. Orton points to his ear and says he is getting something from the voices of his head and they are telling him that Roman might have just crapped his pants. And they also said that “daddy’s back”. Orton throws the microphone and leaves the ring.
We cut to the announce team who mention that Randy Orton will go up against Jimmy Uso tonight.

United States Championship Tournament – Grayson Waller vs. Carmelo Hayes
The bell rings and we are under way. Hayes with a drop kick. Waller gets to his feet and Hayes with an arm bar. Waller with a right hand and he gets out of the arm bar. Waller goes for a right hand but Hayes with a right hand. Hayes with a chop to the chest. Hayes rolls Waller up but Waller kicks out. Hayes runs towards Waller but Waller with a kick to the face. Waller with knees to the face. He slams Hayes in the corner. Waller runs towards Hayes but Hayes with a head scissor take down and Waller rolls to the outside of the ring. Waller gets in the ring and Hayes clotheslines Waller to the outside.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Waller runs towards Hayes but Hayes jumps off the second rope over Waller. Hayes lands on his feet but twists his knee. Waller with a clothesline. He grabs Hayes but Hayes with right hands and a chop to the chest. Hayes with a facebuster. He goes for the cover but Waller kicks out. Hayes climbs the second rope but Waller trips him up and he falls face first onto the mat. Waller climbs the second rope, he puts his leg over Carmelo’s neck, spins Hayes and spikes him on his head. Waller goes for the cover but Hayes kicks out. Waller gets to his feet but Hayes with a kick to the face. Hayes with a springboard DDT. He goes for the cover but Waller kicks out. Waller rolls to the outside. He slams Carmelo’s arm onto the second rope. Waller gets in the ring but Carmelo hits him with the First 48. He climbs the top rope and hits him with Nothing But Net. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes
We cut backstage and see Randy Orton walking. In comes LA Knight and he asks Orton for what time he should set his alarm to save the night. Orton tells him he doesn’t need his help. LA Knight says it’s a number’s game and they know how the numbers work. He tells Orton that he would probably not have been able to sign his SmackDown contract if it wasn’t for him. Orton tells him they won their tag team match last night and they are good right now. He tells LA Knight that they should keep it that way and to do that, LA Knight has to stay out of his way. LA Knight tells Orton the only person who will get the Championship off Roman Reigns is him and he walks away.

United States Championship Tournament – Kevin Owens vs. Austin Theory
Kevin Owens is wearing a cast on his right hand. The bell rings and we are under way. A head lock by Owens but Theory throws him to the ropes. Owens with a shoulder tackle followed by an arm drag. Owens grabs Theory but Theory with a kick and a knee. He throws Owens to the ropes but Owens with a spinning elbow followed by a senton. Theory rolls to the outside of the ring. Owens gets on the ring apron and Theory gets on the ring apron. Owens kicks him down and Owens with a cannonball off the ring apron. He throws Theory back into the ring. Owens climbs the top rope but Theory rolls to the ring apron. Owens grabs him but Theory hangs him up on the top rope. Theory rolls into the ring and hits him with a drop kick. Owens rolls to the ring apron. Theory lifts Owens up and drops him onto the ring apron.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Owens with a frog splash off the top rope. Owens lands the frog splash but holds his hand. He goes for the cover but Theory kicks out. Owens climbs the top rope, he goes for the swanton bomb but Theory gets his knees up. Theory goes for the cover but Owens kicks out. Theory runs to the ropes but Owens with a big boot. Owens with a chop to the chest and he stomps on Theory. He throws Theory to the ropes and a shoulder tackle by Owens. An atomic drop and a DDT by Owens. He goes for the cover but Theory kicks out. Owens hits him with a superkick. He goes for the cover but Theory kicks out. Owens climbs the second rope but Theory jumps and hits him with a seated springboard Spanish fly. He goes for the cover but Owens kicks out. Theory places Owens on the top rope. Theory climbs the second rope but Owens slams him onto the mat. Theory rolls to the outside of the ring. Owens to the outside and he grabs Theory but Theory throws him into the ring post. He places Owens on the barricade and knocks him down. Theory gets back in the ring and he tells the referee to start counting. The referee counts to nine but Owens rolls into the ring. Theory with a left hand and he hits Owens with a Blockbuster. He goes for the cover but Owens kicks out. Theory places Owens on the top rope and Theory climbs the top rope. Owens slides under him and trips Theory up in a tree of woe. Owens hits Theory with a cannonball. Owens climbs the top rope and he hits Theory with a swanton bomb. He goes for the cover but Theory kicks out.
Owens goes for the Stunner but Theory grabs Kevin’s broken hand and kicks it. OWens rolls to the outside. Theory slams Kevin’s broken hand into the ring post. He places it on the ring steps and Theory stomps on it. Owens rolls back into the ring. Theory runs to the ropes but Owens hits him with a big right hand using the cast. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Kevin Owens
We cut to the back and Roman Reigns is sitting in his locker room. He says tonight was supposed to be a celebration and Orton ruined Solo’s moment. He asks Jimmy is he saw it and Jimmy says he saw it. Roman says someone should silence Orton. Jimmy says he can do it but it sounds like a job for the Tribal Heir. Roman says it’s promotion season. If he can silence Orton alone, this could be big for him. He asks Jimmy if he understands and Jimmy says “Yeeet”. Roman looks at him and Jimmy tells him “No Yeeet”.
-Commercial Break-
A Karrion Kross video plays. He says this place is about to be recycled. The moment he stepped into the door, everything was set in motion. And now we are at the threshold, a new beginning. Everything is about to crumble. He asks if you can see it yet and that soon, you will.
We cut to Kevin Owens holding his arm walking backstage. In comes Cameron Grimes who says he wishes he could have punched Austin Theory like that. In comes Kayla Braxton who asks him about his match against Carmelo Hayes next week. He says he is almost like Carmelo Hayes. He says that almost 10 years ago, he showed up on Raw and went face to face with John Cena. And in comes Carmelo Hayes. He tells Owens that he is not like Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, he won’t punch him down.
We cut to the commentary team and they show the clip from last week with Charlotte Flair getting injured. They announce that Charlotte Flair will be out of action for nine months.
We cut to a video of Bayley. She says she created Damage CTRL to be the most dominant women’s faction in WWE history. And every day they get closer to that goal. Bayley says she will win the Royal Rumble and take Rhea Ripley’s title from Raw. She hypes up every member of the Damage CTRL.
The Kabuki Warriors, Kairi Sane and Asuka vs. Zelina Vega and Michin
Kairi Sane and Asuka are walking down to the ring and are attack by Zelina Vega and Michin from behind.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial and the match is already under way. Michin is on the outside and Sane jumps off the ring apron, hitting her with a knee to the face. Michin is thrown back into the ring and Asuka tags Sane into the ring. They double team her. Sane with a sliding knee. She climbs the top rope and hits Michin with a forearm to the face. She goes for the cover but Michin kicks out. Asuka is tagged back in. They double team Michin. Asuka goes for the cover but Michin kicks out.
Asuka goes for a suplex but Michin blocks it. Michin with a suplex. Sane is tagged in and she grabs Michin by the leg but Michin kicks her away. Zelina Vega is tagged into the match. Vega with a hip toss and a kick to the face. Vega with a running knee to the face. She goes for the cover but Sane kicks out. Vega with a devil lock DDT. Vega hits her with a 619, Vega gets to her feet and Sane hits her with a right hand. Asuka is tagged in and she gets Vega in the Asuka Lock. Vega reverses it into a cover but Asuka kicks out. Michin is tagged in and she hits ASuka with a headbutt. Michin slams Asuka onto the mat. She goes for the cover but Sane breaks it up. Vega gets in the ring and she throws Sane to the outside. Vega to the outside and Sane hits her with a right hand. Sane slams Vega into the announce table. She gets on the ring apron but Michin with a big boot. Michin knocks Asuka down. She climbs the top rope as Dakota Kai gets on the ring apron and distracts the referee. Bayley runs down and throws Michin off the top rope. Sane is tagged in and she hits Michin with the Insane elbow. She goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winners: The Kabuki Warriors
Damage CTRL all celebrate on the outside of the ring.
We cut to the back. Jimmy and Solo are along and Jimmy tells Solo that Roman and Heyman have been talking for longer than usual and it does not feel right. He tells Solo it feels like a set up. He asks Solo if he would tell him if something were to happen to him. Solo tells Jimmy he is his brother.
-Commercial Break-
They air a video of Santos Escobar talking about his chance last time of becoming WWE United States Champion was ripped away by Rey Mysterio. He says this time, he will take on Bobby Lashley and he is all about appearances, expensive suits and fancy dinners. He says he understands but that does not matter in the ring and when he is through with Bobby, he will not want to show his ugly face on SmackDown ever again. And when he is done with everyone else, he will take away what he gave to Logan Paul and he will become United States Champion.
We cut to Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits. Lashley says Logan Paul is the United States Champion and now they have a tournament. A bunch of superstars that Logan thinks he can beat, except him. And he will face Santos Escobar. The Street Profits hype up Bobby Lashley and say he will beat Santos. Lashley tells Santos he is just standing in his way.
Randy Orton vs. Jimmy Uso
The bell rings and we are under way. Orton with right hands and he throws Jimmy in the corner. Right hands by Orton. He throws Jimmy onto the ring apron and goes for a DDT but Jimmy drops to the outside.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Orton slams Jimmy onto the announce table. Orton throws Jimmy back into the ring. He goes for the cover but Jimmy kicks out. Orton with an arm bar but Jimmy with a headbutt. Jimmy runs towards Orton but Orton with an elbow to the face. He place Jimmy in the corner and Orton with right hands. Orton stomps on Jimmy. He throws Jimmy to the ropes but Jimmy with a spinning kick to the head. Jimmy with right hands. He goes for the cover but Orton kicks out. Jimmy gets Orton in the corner. Jimmy climbs the second rope and hits Orton with right hands. He goes for more right hands but Orton with a thumb to the eye. He throws Jimmy onto the ring apron. He goes for the DDT but Jimmy throws Orton over the top rope and onto the outside.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Orton with a clothesline and a bodyslam. Jimmy rolls onto the ring apron and Orton grabs him but Jimmy hangs him up on the top rope. Jimmy is about to get in the ring but Orton kicks him. Orton with a DDT. Orton is about to go for the RKO but Solo Sikoa’s music hits and out comes Solo. LA Knight’s music hits and out he comes. LA Knight throws Solo into the barricade. Jimmy grabs Orton in the ring but Orton hits him with the RKO. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Randy Orton
LA Knight and Orton stare at each other and LA Knight tells Orton he knows why he got that win. He says he knew they were coming. Roman attacks LA Knight from behind on the outside. He and Orton stare at each other.
The fans chant “Randy” and Roman looks at the crowd. Roman gets in the ring and both men with right hands. Jimmy hits Orton from behind and they double team Orton. LA Knight gets in the ring and he hits Roman from behind. In comes Solo and he attacks LA Knight from behind. They team up against Orton and LA Knight.
AJ Styles returns to SmackDown. We hear his music and Roman looks at the ramp but AJ Styles shows up on the ring apron. He hits Roman with the Phenomenal Forearm. AJ Styles, Randy Orton and LA Knight attack the Bloodline and the Bloodline roll to the outside as AJ’s music hits.
AJ grabs LA Knight from behind and he hits him with a clothesline. Orton stares at AJ confused. AJ leaves the ring and walks towards the Bloodline. He walks passed them and leaves with everyone looking at AJ Styles who leaves.
