WWE SmackDown kicks off with Jey Uso in the ring. As he begins to speak, Roman’s music hits and out comes Roman Reigns with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa.
The fans chant “Uso” as Roman tells the crowd to acknowledge him. Roman tells the crowd they like the Usos because of him. He tells Jey that he probably forgot that when the Tribal Chief is scheduled to appear, the Tribal Chief will open up his show.
Roman asks Jey why they call him the right hand man? Because Roman made him that. Why they call him main event Jey Uso? Because Roman made him that. And now Jey is trying to open Roman’s show, trying to be the head of the table. All Jey has ever wanted for hte last three years was to be the tribal chief.
Jey tells Roman he never wanted any of that. All he did for Roman was watch his back, which is what family does. Jey tells him he has been his right hand man for three years, no questions asked because he is his tribal chief. And he believed in Roman. He believed that he can lead the company and the family. Jey tells Roman that he broke that family and now he has to do what he has to do. Jey tells Roman he broke the family, the Bloodline and Jimmy. And it’s all his fault.
Roman says that’s Jey’s fault, his jealousy brought that on. He asks Jey when Jimmy got hurt, what did Jey do? He asked for a Championship match because he is selfish. He says the only reason Jey became the right hand man was because Jimmy was hurt. If Jimmy wasn’t hurt, Jey would not have had a chance.
Roman tells Jey that Jey will be all alone, he screwed his twin brother. Jimmy loves and respects Roman more than he does Jey. And when he beats Jey, he tells Jey that he is done. He will not be part of the legacy, the history. Roman says hypothetically speaking, if Jey somehow wins… That means Jey takes the Championship and everything from him. He would not be the tribal chief but he will always be Roman Reigns. And he will be able to do what he wants to do. But Jey has nothing and the fact that Jey still wants this makes no sense. He tells Jey that Jey won’t beat him and he can’t beat him.
The fans chant “Usos”. Jey tells Roman he already beat him as Roman smirks. Jey says he pinned him. He is the only one to do it. Jey puts his arm around Roman and tells him that at SummerSlam, he will beat him again. He drops the microphone and leaves the ring as Roman looks confused standing in the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Jey is shown walking backstage as Waller stops him. Waller tells him he loves his passion and it gave him an idea. Win or lose at SummerSlam and between them, he will probably lose… But after that, he can give him the Grayson Waller rub and he can be on his show. The Grayson Waller Effect with little Jey. Grayson laughs as Jey knocks him down with a right hand.
United States Championship Invitational – Rey Mysterio vs. Santos Escobar
The bell rings and we are under way. They shake hands and go back into their corners. They lock up as Santos goes for a roll up but Rey kicks out. Escobar twists Rey’s left leg as the camera shows WWE United States Champion Austin Theory in the sky box watching the match.
Escobar with a kick to the leg but Rey with a slap to the face. Santos with a slap of his own. Escobar to the ropes and Rey trips him up on the second rope. Rey thinkgs of going for the 619 but Escobar rolls to the outside of the ring. Rey jumps over the top rope and lands onto Santos.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Rey with a senton off the top rope followed by a cross body off the second rope. He goes for the cover but Escobar kicks out. Rey to the ropes but Escobar with a cross body. Escobar on the ring apron and he kicks Rey in the face. Escobar climbs the top rope and he lands a cross body. He goes for the cover but Rey kicks out. Escobar grabs Rey as Rey rolls him up but Escobar kicks out. Rey to the ropes but Escobar with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker. He goes for the cover but Rey kicks out.
The fans chant “This is awesome”. Escobar places Rey on the second rope and he gets Rey on his shoulders but Rey flips Escobar over the top rope to the outside. Escobar lands on his feet with Rey still on his shoulders and Rey drops him face first into the ring apron. Rey gets back in the ring. He goes for a baseball slide but Escobar moves out of the way. Escobar gets back in the ring and he lands a suicide dive onto Rey.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from commercial and Rey is down in the corner. The referee and a doctor are examining him. They show replays of Escobar’s suicide dive on the outside and Rey falling to the floor.
The referee calls the match off and the announcement is made that Santos Escobar is the winner.
Winner: Santos Escobar
Rey got up after the match and the two hugged as Rey left the ring. Austin Theory is shown raising his Championship looking at Santos Escobar.
We cut backstage and Kayla is with Bianca Belair. She tells Kayla that the numbers don’t favor anyone in a triple threat match. As she is talking, in come Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville. Green says she is not a fan of numbers but there is the number eleven. Sonya says they have been Champions for 11 days. Green says if it’s not about Bianca it’s about Charlotte and if it’s not about Charlotte, it’s about Bianca Belair.
Bianca tells her to stop the disrespect. In comes Charlotte Flair. She calls Green and Sonya bullies and tells Bianca she can’t have her outnumbered and needs her 100% for SummerSlam. Flair asks her to team together. Bianca refuses and Flair says this makes her want to do it even more and she will speak with Adam Pearce.
-Commercial Break-
Hit Row are in the ring about to rap and LA Knight’s music hits. A loud pop from the crowd and they chant “Yeah”. LA Knight says “let me talk to ya” as the fans chant “LA Knight”.
He says he knew Will Smith was in the game but he didn’t know uncle Phil became a rapper. He says “who’s hotta than Top Dolla? Well, alota alota”. LA Knight tells them that the way B-Fab is looking at him, she has a tingle in her loans and she is horny. But business before pleasure. And the business is with Ashante. A lot of people claim to be undeniable and inevitable but he lives it. And he can be the next to get dropped on his head by the mega star with everybody saying “LA Knight… Yeah”.
LA Knight vs. Ashante
The bell rings and we are under way. Ashanta with right hands and he distracts the referee. Top Dolla with a cheap shot on LA Knight. Ashante goes for the cover but LA Knight kicks out. Ashante goes for a splash in the corner but LA Knight moves out of the way and he hits Ashante with a neck breaker. Top Dolla gets on the ring apron but LA Knight knocks him down with a right hand. LA Knight with a power slam onto Ashante and he hits him with a big elbow followed by the BFT. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: LA Knight
We cut backstage and Adam Pearce tells Jey that Waller is asking for a match against him. Jey says Waller has been running his mouth and he accepts.
-Commercial Break-
The Street Profits and Bobby Lashley are sitting in a row backstage. Lashley calls them stars and they should be treated like stars and should dress like stars. Angelo Dawkins looks around as Lashley tells him he has nothing against the sweats but he has something more fitting.
A lady comes in with a rack of new suits and Lashley tells them it’s on him as they all shake hands.
Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair vs. Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville
The bell rings and we are under way. Bianca and Chelsea start the match. A head lock by Bianca and Chelsea throws her to the ropes but Bianca with a shoulder tackle. Bianca to the ropes as Flair tags herself in. Bianca looks confused and Flair with a snap mare onto Green. Charlotte with a head lock and Bianca is tagged in. Chelsea stomps onto Bianca’s foot but Bianca with a power slam and Sonya is tagged in. Bianca with a body slam.
Bianca with a moon sault. She goes for the cover but Deville kicks out. Bianca gets Sonya in the corner and she hits her with right hands. Chelsea gets in the ring but Bianca throws her to the outside of the ring. She turns around and Sonya with a big kick to the face. She goes for the cover but Bianca kicks out.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Sonya has Bianca in a head lock but Bianca gets to her first. Sonya with a big kick and Chelsea is tagged back into the match. They try to double team Bianca but Bianca with elbows and kicks. She goes for the tag but they stop Bianca. Chelsea and Sonya go for a double suplex but Bianca reverses it into a suplex. Flair is tagged back into the match. Flair with a cross body off the top rope. Flair with chops followed by a fall away slam onto Chelsea.
Flair hits Chelsea with a clothesline. She goes for the cover but Chelsea kicks out. She grabs Chelsea but Chelsea hangs on to the ropes and Sonya is tagged in. Chelsea runs towards Flair but Flair hits her with a spear. Flair with a suplex onto Sonya. She grabs Sonya by the leg and goes for the Figure Eight but Sonya kicks her into the corner. Bianca tags herself in. She hits Sonya with shoulder tackles and a drop kick. Bianca with a vertical suplex. She spears Sonya in the corner and climbs the second rope. Right hands by Bianca in the corner but Sonya ducks under her. She grabs Bianca’s ponytail and Sonya runs to the ropes, Chelsea tags herself in. Bianca knocks Sonya down. Bianca runs to the ropes but Chelsea grabs her by the hair. Flair throws Sonya to the outside and she tags herself in. Chelsea gets in the ring and Flair hits her with a big boot. Flair and Bianca argue about the tag as Flair tells her to leave the ring. Flair goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winners: Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair
We cut backstage as Bayley and IYO are standing. IYO asks Bayley why she left her last week. Bayley says she didn’t leave her, she went to go get the valet. She says Shotzi got to her stuff. Bayley opens up her bad and there’s a paper by Shotzi saying “see you soon”. In comes Asuka who stops there. She says she will face two of the best ever at SummerSlam and she begins to speak in Japanese. IYO speaks in Japanese and she tells Asuka that she respects her. But she will be leaving SummerSlam as the WWE Women’s champion as she raises her Money in the Bank briefcase.
-Commercial Break-
Michael Cole announces a SummerSlam Battle Royal with both Raw and SmackDown superstars. We cut backstage with Adam Pearce talking on the phone about the SummerSlam Battle Royal.
In comes LA Knight. He tells Pearce that after last week’s debacle, he is looking at the biggest mistep by not having the biggest rising star in WWE history at SummerSlam. If he wants the SummerSlam Battle Royal to mean something, he should have LA Knight in it. In come The Brawling Brutes. Sheamus tells Pearce to tell LA Knight that at the SummerSlam Battle Royal, he will have to fight like his life depends on it. Because they only produce bangers after bangers after bangers after bangers. LA Knight tells Sheamus he will get banged on the head and Pearce announces both of them in the SummerSlam Battle Royal. And that they will go one on one next week on SmackDown
Cathy Kelley is backstage with Grayson Waller. He tells her that he did nothing and did not deserve to get hit with a cheap shot. But tonight, Jey will pay for that. He tells her that Jey is stressed with Roman Reigns and the biggest match of his career at SummerSlam that he is not ready for Waller.
-Commercial Break-
The OC are backstage and Anderson tells them that the match against Karrion tonight is personal. And he needs them to let him do this on his own. They too sweet each other as Anderson walks down to the ring.
Karl Anderson vs. Karrion Kross with Scarlett
The bell rings and we are under way. Anderson with right hands and chops to the chest. An uppercut by Anderson followed by more chops to the chest. Anderson climbs the second rope and he lands a neck breaker. He goes for the cover but Kross kicks out. Right hands by Anderson in the corner but the referee breaks it up. Scarlett grabs Anderson’s leg which distracts him and Kross kicks Anderson’s right leg. Kross with forearms and right hands.
Kross with a suplex followed by the Kross Hammer. Kross grans Anderson and he hits him with the Final Prayer as he yells out AJ. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Karrion Kross
Karrion gets him in the Kross Jacket but out come The OC to the ring and Kross leaves the ring. He stares at AJ Styles and walks to the back.
Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa are sitting backstage as Jey’s music hits and they watch him walk down to the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Jey Uso vs. Grayson Waller
The bell rings and we are under way. A head lock by Waller but Jey throws him to the ropes and Waller hits him with a shoulder tackle. Waller to the ropes but JEy hits him with a flying forearm. Jey walks towards Waller but Waller with a drop kick. Waller grabs Jey but Jey hits him with a headbutt followed by a bodyslam. Jey stomps onto Waller’s face.
Jey with right hands but Waller with a knee to the body. Waller grabs Jey but Jey with a kick to the side of the head.
Roman’s music hits and out come Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa. Jey is distracted and Waller hits him with a kick to the face.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from commercial and Roman is sitting on a chair at ringside. In the ring, Jey with a jaw breaker. He places Wallero n the top rope and Jey on the second rope but Waller knocks him down. Waller walks on the second rope and hits him with an elbow. He goes for the cover but Jey kicks out. Waller goes for a kick but Jey ducks and hits him with a kick. An uppercut by Jey. He runs to the ropes but Waller with a spinebuster.
Waller takes off his elbow pad and throws it like The Rock. He runs to the ropes and goes for his own People’s Elbow but Jey moves out of the way. Jey with a Samoan Drop. Jey with a super kick and he stares at Roman Reigns who is at ringside.
Jey hits Waller with a spear and he looks at Roman who smirks. Jey climbs the top rope and hits Waller with the Uso Splash. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Jey Uso
Solo hits Jey from behind and he begins to stomp on him. Solo lifts Jey up and goes for the Samoan Spike but Jey ducks and he hits Solo with a super kick. Roman gets in the ring, he goes for a spear, Jey ducks and Jey hits him with a spear and the crowd goes crazy. Jey climbs the top rope but Solo pushes him off. Solo grabs Jey and hits him with a Rock Bottom.
Roman gets to his feet and Roman hits Jey with a spear as Solo hits him with the Samoan Spike at the same time. Roman and Solo stare at Jey who is down on the mat. Roman yells at Jey and tells him that he can’t have the World Championship. The fans chant “You got pinned” as Roman looks at the crowd and tells Solo again. Solo picks Jey up and once more, Roman hits him with a spear and Solo with the Spike as SmackDown goes off the air.
