“Then. Now. Forever.”
Live from The AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas… Tom Phillips welcomes us to this week’s Smackdown Live! and a recap of last night’s literally explosive ending to Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley’s Falls Count Anywhere Match on Raw. We will be hearing from Bobby Lashley regarding the match and obtain further updates to Strowman’s injuries.
In the meantime, Kevin Owens makes his way to the ring for another episode of ‘The Kevin Owens Show’. Owens’ guests tonight are facing two superstars who we never would have thought would be teaming up, Roman Reigns and The Undertaker, at Extreme Rules… Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre. Shane asks for Greg Hamilton to give his proper introduction… THE BEST… IN THE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD! SHANE! MCMAHON!
Owens takes us back to last night and The Undertaker’s response to McMahon and McIntyre. “Oooo spooky.” McMahon says sarcastically. Owens asks if the two are actually afraid of The Dead Man.
“I’m not afraid at all! I’m on a hot streak right now. I’ve run through The Miz, I’ve beaten Roman Reigns… and by the way, our match will be a No Holds Barred Match,” says McMahon. McIntyre says that everyone knows what he’s capable of doing in a regular match, and what Shane is as well. We cannot imagine what they will be capable of in a No Holds Barred Match.
Owens asks for a specific part of the montage to be replayed… the part where Shane and Drew retreat from the ring and their frightened facial expression. “It’s a gutteral reaction, right? A reflex. You can’t really help yourselves, right?”
McMahon tells Owens to just read the index cards and do his job. Owens reads that Shane beat Reigns without any help and that he is cowering… he goes to another index card and asks how it felt to make his big return to the WWE after a 7-year absence only to lose to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. McIntyre leaps in front of McMahon and Owens but we are interrupted by Dolph Ziggler.
“NO! NO! NO! You’re not gonna’ come out here and say how it should have been you! It should have been you! Yeah! It should have been you 8 years ago, and it kind of was, then it wasn’t and it’s not going to happen again! JUST GET OVER IT!”
Ziggler says that everyone knows that he should be WWE Champion right now. He has the looks to be a champion, where Owens looks like he should be in a hot dog eating contest. Owens says if he was in one, at least he’d be a champion unlike Ziggler who has never won any wrestling matches.
Shane McMahon pairs Ziggler and Owens together as a tag team to face Heavy Machinery tonight, where the winner will be injected into the Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match at Extreme Rules making it a Triple Threat Match. Owens yells at production to play his music to intro him out of the ring.
Backstage, Daniel Bryan gives his reaction: While management’s decisions have been unpopular as of late, there’s nothing he can say about it except that Rowan and himself will walk in as champions and walk out as champions.
*Commercial Break*
In the gorilla position, Xavier Woods says that Big E and him are always ready for a fight of any kind, regardless if it is a Triple Threat or not. AAAAWWWW SAN ANTONIO!…. Big E and Woods make their way to the ring, followed by Daniel Bryan and Rowan. Their respective tag partners will be at ringside for this match.

We’re back and Big E is caught in corner, Bryan kicking at his left hamstring. A running dropkick sends Big E sprawling and crawling to the center of the ring. Bryan decides to slap Big E in the face… not smart. Big E fights back with a couple belly-to-belly suplexes, but the third is countered by a kick back to the hamstring. Bryan tries for the ‘Yes Kicks’, Big E catches the leg, delivers the 3rd belly-to-belly! Follows with a splash! 1… 2.. kick out. *Commercial Break*
It’s time for ‘A Moment of Bliss’ and here’s comes the host… complete with her entrance theme, Nikki Cross. She leaps into the chair and thanks Alexa Bliss for this opportunity. She says because she’s from Glasgow, Scotland, she has a little bit of an accent and will try to talk slow enough for everyone to understand her. And now, her guest… Bayley.
Bayley’s actually a little impressed that Bliss is giving Cross hosting duties. Cross tries to say that Bliss is more generous than she thinks but Bayley interrupts… and that Cross shouldn’t be doing her bidding. Cross asks the first tough question: Why did she call Alexa a liar? Um… because she is one. Cross thinks it’s unfair how Bayley drags Alexa’s name through the dirt. What Bayley thinks is unfair is that Cross beat both herself and then Carmella… so why isn’t Nikki facing Bayley for the Smackdown Women’s Title?
“I don’t know!”, Cross replies, “But what I want to know is why I’m not facing you in that ring right now?!” Bayley accepts Nikki’s challenge. Nikki stomps down the ramp and it looks like that’s what we’re getting.

What happened to the Samoa Joe that took on all comers? Now we have Samoa Joe hiding behind corners, sneaking around backstage. “Your ass is too big to be playing hide and seek.”
