“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
A video is shown of what happened last Tuesday on Smackdown. Kevin Owens was handcuffed to the bottom rope during Sami Zayn’s match against Randy Orton. Owens broke out with bolt cutters and attacked Orton. Shane McMahon says he’s just getting warmed up with their punishment. Shinsuke Nakamura made the save. McMahon made himself the guest referee for the match at Clash of Champions with Orton and Nakamura against Owens and Zayn. If Owens and Zayn lose, they’re out of all of WWE.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are seen walking around with “YEP” t-shirts. They’re trying to get people to join their movement against Shane McMahon.
WWE Champion AJ Styles addresses Jinder Mahal
WWE Champion AJ Styles makes his way to the ring to a nice reception. He’ll face Jinder Mahal at Clash of Champions with the title on the line. A loud “AJ Styles” chant picks up. Styles welcomes the crowd to Smackdown Live, the house that AJ Styles built! Styles says he’s usually cool, calm, and collected, but all he can think about is defending his title this Sunday at Clash of Champions. Styles doesn’t want to lose what he just got back, which is probably how Jinder Mahal felt. What good is it to be champion if you’re not willing to fight for it? Styles will defend the title against Mahal, a man who would do whatever it takes to hang on to his title. There was the Punjabi Prison Match where he brought in The Great Khali from India to help him win. Mahal also had The Singh Brothers around to constantly help him. Mahal would do anything to get that title.
The Singh Brothers make their way to the stage. Usually at this time they introduce “The Modern Day Maharaja,” but not tonight. They show what Jinder Mahal did to them two weeks ago. Styles defeated them, and Mahal viciously attacked The Singh Brothers after the match. Styles says that was just cruel. After seeing that, he feels sorry for them. It may sound crazy, but they need to come down to the ring and “hug it out” with him. The Singhs hug on the ramp, but Styles says they need to hug it out with “old Uncle Al.” They get in the ring while the crowd chants, “Hug it out.” They hug Styles and thank him for the support. The real reason they’re out here tonight is to tell him they want to be in his corner at Clash of Champions. The crowd boos. As far as they’re concerned, Jinder Mahal is facing him alone. They’re done with Mahal. He’s a disgrace to the 1.3 billion people of the great nation of India. They talk about how Mahal humiliated them, even making them kiss his feet. Styles asks why they were alongside Mahal in India this past weekend. Still photos are shown of them with Mahal. Styles asks if they’re with or against him. They insist they’re done with him.
Jinder Mahal’s music hits, and he angrily comes down the ramp. Styles calls The Singh Brothers “dingleberries” and says they sucked at trying to convince him. Styles says he appreciates them being honest about the Clash of Champions match being one-on-one. Styles head-butts one Singh brother and punches down the other before clearing them from the ring. Styles then invites Mahal to get in the ring. Mahal gets on the apron and just shouts at Styles. A loud “Jinder sucks” chant picks up. Mahal then jumps off the apron and backs away. Mahal helps The Singh Brothers up at ringside. Styles raises up his WWE Championship while his music plays.

They send Flair out of the ring and send her into the steps before sending her into the barricade. They take the bottom portion of the steel steps and set it up like they did to Naomi two weeks ago. Naomi’s music hits, and she runs down to dropkick Morgan and Logan down. She gets Riott in the ring and hits her with the Rear View. The Riott Squad pulls Riott out of the ring and runs off. Carmella, Lana, and Tamina attack The Riott Squad from behind for good measure.
Tonight, we’ll see Shinsuke Nakamura take on Kevin Owens. We’ll also find out if Owens and Zayn will “Occupy Smackdown.”

Rowan press slams Monroe, who is doing some awful facials, into the ring. Monroe lets out a high pitched scream as he gets powerbombed. The Bludgeon Brothers then hit Delaney with a double-team slam for the win.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn “Occupy Smackdown”
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn make their way to the ring in ripoff Daniel Bryan shirts that say, “YEP! YEP! YEP!” They’re attempting to Occupy Smackdown. Owens says “The YEP Movement” has arrived. A “YEP” chant picks up. Zayn says this is surreal. It’s as if the entire WWE Universe finally decided to stand side by side with them against WWE management. Together, they stand united in the name of change. Owens keeps saying, “YEP” after every statement. Zayn says last week, management took things one step too far. A replay is shown of Kevin Owens being handcuffed to the bottom rope during Zayn’s match against Randy Orton. Orton defeated Zayn, but Owens broke out of the handcuffs with a bolt cutter. They double-teamed him until Shinsuke Nakamura made the save. Owens says there is no doubt that Shane McMahon is the worst McMahon of them all. Not only did he handcuff him to the ring like a common criminal, he made himself the special guest referee for their match at Clash of Champions. Then he made it that if he and Zayn lost to Orton and Nakamura, they’ll be fired from the entire WWE. Owens says McMahon is a madman on a rage bender. McMahon wants them to lose their jobs because he couldn’t defend his family’s honor. This business is bigger than Shane McMahon and his vendetta. It is time to Occupy Smackdown. Owens shouts for all their supporters in the back to come out.
No one comes out until Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan walks out. Bryan then makes his way to the ring doing the “YES” chant. Owens says this is the inspiration for the “YEP Movement.” Zayn says they thought hundred or thousands of people would come out, but they got even better in the man that represents Smackdown Live. Bryan asks what they’re doing. Owens says Bryan had the “YES Movement,” so they have the “YEP Movement” as tribute. For the last nine months on Smackdown Live, they’ve been scrutinized and unfairly treated just like Bryan. Bryan says they are nothing like him. If anything, this proves it. The “YES Movement” wasn’t about him — it was about the fans. A loud “YES” chant picks up. It was about what the WWE Universe wanted and what they deserve. Zayn says this is about what they want and deserve. Owens says McMahon wants to screw them at Clash of Champions and take food off the table of their families. Zayn calls McMahon a “ruthless tyrant.” Bryan says he has an agreement with McMahon that they have each other’s backs. Bryan says he realizes that Owens and Zayn are incredibly talented. Bryan will make sure their match on Sunday is fair. If they lose, there will be no excuses. Bryan isn’t sure McMahon will agree with him, but he trusts McMahon will have his back. There will be a second guest referee this Sunday at Clash of Champions. That man is himself. Bryan then leaves the ring. Owens and Zayn start a “YES” chant in the ring.
The Usos will take on Rusev and Aidan English, next.
-Commercial Break-
The New Day is on commentary for the next match.
Aidan English and Rusev are in the ring. English says today and everyday is Rusev Day. English says he’ll finish the holiday song they started last week. On the eighth day of Rusev, his partner gave to him… eight Aidan songs. English finishes it up and blows a kiss to The New Day.
The Usos make their entrance. Jimmy Uso says it isn’t even Christmas, but even if it was English wouldn’t get presents anyway. Jey Uso says even if Santa did take him off the naughty list and brought gifts to English, what would he get him? Singing lessons? A new toupee? A new tag partner? This Sunday, it’s all about The Usos.
Benjamin and Gable make their way to the ring. Chad Gable says he’s had enough of Rusev Day, The New Day, and Day One-ish. Days are for the weak. Benjamin says the only day that matters is Sunday because they’re coming to collect the Tag Team Championships. King Kong ain’t got “ISH” on them. Gable says they’ll train them like dogs to roll over and get pinned before bringing the titles to their masters.
