The show opens with Randy Orton backstage. He is asked about his match with Alberto Del Rio tonight and how he is staying focused for his match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Orton refers to himself as the Legend Killer and that it only takes one RKO to get to Viperville. Del Rio walks up saying Viperville is a joke comparing it to Disneyland. Orton offers to give Del Rio a free ticket. Del Rio wants to see if Orton can do anything with a broken arm. Del Rio walks off as Orton stares him down.
The Smackdown opening hits. We go live to Bakersfield where a huge display of pyro goes off. Mauro Ranallo welcomes us to the show tonight with SummerSlam two weeks away.
Bray Wyatt addresses Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose
Bray Wyatt is out first to kick off the show tonight. Erick Rowan is with Wyatt. Highlights from last week is shown of Dolph Ziggler putting his No. 1 Contendership on the line for his shot at the WWE World Championship at SummerSlam against Wyatt.
Back live, Bray Wyatt has a mic in hand. “I would like to make something very, very clear. Last week I did not fall to Dolph Ziggler.” Wyatt said Ziggler was desperate and then came deception. He talks about Ziggler putting his face in steel knowing it was the only way. Wyatt said everything went black and he had to take in the fact that everything had been taken from him again. He refers to himself as a God and that Ziggler can never kill a God. Wyatt said he can always go ask his friend Dean Ambrose and he will tell Ziggler that his teeth are very sharp. “This is my show now,” adds Wyatt. Wyatt said there is no red or blue. It is Bray Wyatt against the “whole damn world.”
WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose walks out to interrupt. Ambrose said this really must be a new era when Bray Wyatt refers to himself as a victim. He said Wyatt is being a big old baby instead of the eater of worlds. Ambrose tells Wyatt to step off his podium and that Smackdown Live belongs to the people. He said Smackdown Live belongs to the WWE World Champion. Wyatt starts laughing and begs Ambrose to take him off his podium. He drops the mic and backs up. Ambrose said he knows Wyatt thinks he will run down to that ring and take a 2-on-1 beatdown. He talks about how tempting it would be to jump in that ring and punch Wyatt in the mouth when Dolph Ziggler interrupts.
Ziggler jumps in the ring and goes after Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan. Wyatt and Rowan overwhelm Ziggler. Ambrose jumps in going after Rowan and Wyatt. They cut him off and start beating down Ambrose. Ambrose dumps Rowan over the top rope. Wyatt has Ambrose setting him up for Sister Abigail. Ziggler with a superkick pulling Ambrose in front. Ziggler hits Ambrose with a superkick on Ambrose by accident. Ziggler with a superkick on Rowan and then Wyatt catches Ziggler hitting Sister Abigail. Wyatt and Rowan back up the ramp staring down Ambrose and Ziggler who are still trying to recover.
Later tonight, Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio.

-Commercial Break-
Backstage, Dean Ambrose tells Dolph Ziggler he didn’t need his help. Ziggler said he was jumped last week and wanted to prove something. Ambrose tells Ziggler to handle his business on his own time. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan walk up to break it up. Bryan books Ambrose and Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan later tonight. He adds if Ziggler doesn’t like it, he will borrow a phrase that Dolph used last week, “screw you.”
American Alpha vs. Mikey O’Shea and Mike Vega
Before the match starts, The Ascension walks out yelling at American Alpha. The Vaudevillains and The Hype Bros also show up at ringside.
We start with Chad Gable with a big takedown on Mike Vega. Tag to Jason Jordan who hits a dragon screw on Vega and tag back to Gable. Gable drops down on the mat pulling back on the leg of Vega. Tag back to Jordan. Hip toss and double dropkicks on Mikey O’Shea when he runs in. Jordan with a huge overhead belly-to-belly on Vega. Jordan spears Vega in the corner. Tag to Gable as they hit the Grand Amplitude on Vega for the pinfall.
Winners: American Alpha
The Ascension, The Vaudevillains and The Hype Bros all hit the ring and a big brawl breaks out. American Alpha is able to clear house on everyone.
-Commercial Break-
We are back live with Renee Young. She introduces the WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and Maryse. Young wants to take a look at Miz’s opponent at SummerSlam, Apollo Crews. Miz instead turns attention to Maryse as they crawl up on the desk. Young pitches to a video package looking at Apollo Crews and his time in WWE so far.
Back live, Miz and Maryse are laying on top of the desk and Young asks Miz about facing Apollo Crews. Maryse says no one will beat her husband. Miz talks about how beautiful Maryse is. Maryse calls him the hottest man on the planet.
Becky Lynch vs. Eva Marie
Before the match, Eva Marie jumps down and motions her leg is fine this week. As the match is about to begin, Eva has a wardrobe malfunction and the referee yells for a towel. The referee gives Eva a towel and she covers up running off. He then informs the announcer that the match will not be taking place due to a wardrobe malfunction.
Winner: No Contest
After the match, Becky Lynch talks about being frustrated and always being prepared to fight. She is refusing to head to the back and issues an open challenge.
Alexa Bliss walks out calling herself team blue’s hottest star. Bliss vs. Lynch is next.

Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss
We are back live and the match is in progress as Alexa Bliss slams the face of Becky Lynch down on the mat and then Bliss stomps over her head. Bliss wraps Lynch up in the top rope and throws a few elbows. Bliss works over the head of Lynch. Bliss cuts off a comeback witha knee. Lynch with clotheslines and a spinning heel kick. Lynch with a forearm and an exploder from the corner on Bliss. Eva Marie walks back out with the deep announcer voice informing us that she is now ready to compete. Bliss gets in a shot on Lynch, goes up top and connects with her Twisted Bliss splash from the top turnbuckle to get the pinfall victory.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
At the top of the ramp, Eva Marie is interviewed and said she did all she could to get back involved tonight. Marie said Alexa Bliss beat her to the punch and she plans to make her official debut on Smackdown next week.
WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan is later tonight. Up next, Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio.

Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio
The bell rings and the crowd breaks out in a loud “RKO” chant. Lock up and Del Rio breaks free. Another lock up, Orton with a headlock and shoulder block takedown on Del Rio. Del Rio with a quick leg kick and then sends Orton to the corner. Orton with a block and uppercut to respond. More uppercuts from Orton in the corner. Orton launches Del Rio to the other corner and Del Rio bounces off. Orton with right hands to Del Rio. Orton drops Del Rio with a quick clothesline and Orton with some kicks to follow up. Orton catapults the throat of Del Rio off the bottom rope, goes for a cover and gets a two count. Del Rio with body kicks and punches. Del Rio gets wrapped up in the ropes when Orton moves out of the way. Del Rio hangs on and Orton dumps Del Rio to the outside as we head to a break.
-Commercial Break-
We return live as we see Orton stomping away and then dropping a knee over the head of Del Rio. Del Rio with a backstabber and then drives Orton shoulder first into the steel ring post. Orton rolls to the outside grabbing his shoulder. Del Rio throws the arm of Orton off the steel ring steps a few times and tosses him back inside the ring. Del Rio goes up top, jumps and catches Del Rio with a quick right hand. Del Rio with a cover and Orton kicks out. Del Rio works over the left arm of Orton. Orton with a standing dropkick dropping Del Rio. Orton props Del Rio up on the top turnbuckle, throws a right hand and then another uppercut. Del Rio grabs the arm of Orton and falls down over the ropes applying an armbar! Orton breaks free and crotches Del Rio up on the top turnbuckle. Orton with a superplex on Del Rio. Del Rio with right hands. Orton with kicks. Del Rio with kicks and right hands. Orton fires back with an uppercut and then drops Del Rio with a series of clotheslines. Orton with a snap powerslam on Del Rio. Orton drops Del Rio’s jaw off the top rope after a counter. Del Rio attempts his flying armbar, blocks an RKO attempt, Orton pushes Del Rio through the ropes, hangs on and connects with his DDT off the ropes. Orton fires up the crowd in Bakersfield. Orton is calling for an RKO. Del Rio quickly jumps out to avoid it. Orton clotheslines Del Rio over the timekeepers barricade area. Orton starts clearing off the announce table at ringside. Del Rio with a shot to the arm of Orton using a steel chair. The referee calls it.
Winner via DQ: Randy Orton
After the match, Alberto Del Rio hits Randy Orton again on the arm with the steel chair. Del Rio then sends Orton shoulder first into the steel ring post. Del Rio with another shot on Orton to the steel post and rolls him back inside the ring. Del Rio grabs the steel chair again. Del Rio tosses it inside the ring, gets inside, grabs the chair and Orton hits an RKO out of no where! Big reaction from the crowd in Bakersfield.
Backstage, we see Rhyno warming up when Heath Slater walks up. He talks about being given an opportunity tonight to get a contract with Smackdown courtesy of Daniel Bryan. Rhyno says he already has a contract. Slater said he has two kids to care for. Rhyno talks about winning his election in Michigan and how he can’t let anyone down. Slater said he has four kids to feed. Rhyno brings up how Slater said he had two kids before. Slater is asking Rhyno to help him out tonight. Rhyno says he can’t help and walks off.
-Commercial Break-
Earlier today we see video of The Miz arriving. He walks up to a person in a Scooby Doo costume to promote the upcoming WWE and Scooby Doo movie on DVD. Miz is upset that he wasn’t put on the cover and wants them recalled immediately. Scooby pushes Miz inside the Mystery Machine truck locking him inside and gets in Miz’s car.
If Slater wins, he gets a contract with Smackdown
Heath Slater vs. Rhyno
Lock up and both Rhyno and Heath Slater exchange arm locks. Rhyno with a shoulder block, blocks a hip toss attempt and connects with a short arm clothesline on Slater. Rhyno with right hands to Slater in the corner. Slater launches Rhyno into the corner. Rhyno bounces off and Slater follows with a boot to the face. Slater with a headlock on Rhyno. Slater drops Rhyno down on the mat and gets a two count. An “ECW” chant breaks out in Bakersfield. Rhyno with a belly-to-belly suplex on Slater. Rhyno goes for the Gore, Slater side steps and rolls up Rhyno and tries using the ropes. The referee sees it and stops the pinfall count. Rhyno connects with a Gore, hooks the leg and gets the pinfall. JBL yells out on commentary during the close, “Rhyno, you damn politician!”
Winner: Rhyno
After the match, we see a shot of a very upset Heath Slater in the ring.
Erick Rowan interrupts appearing on the screen. Bray Wyatt asks Rowan to prepare to give his life for this family. Wyatt asks Rowan to destroy. Rowan finishes it saying, “Run.”
-Commercial Break-
Backstage, Shane McMahon has a contract and asks Daniel Bryan if he really wants to do this. Daniel Bryan said Slater embodies the fighting spirit of Smackdown. Heath Slater walks in yelling at both Shane and Bryan. He said Smackdown Live doesn’t deserve him. Slater walks off as Shane and Bryan close up the contract.
Carmella is out cutting a promo when Natalya runs out trying to attack her. Carmella sees it coming and throws elbows at Natalya. They run into the ring and keep brawling. The referee separates both and then calls for the bell to kick things off.
Carmella vs. Natlaya
Carmella jumps and tackles Natalya early. Natalya throws Carmella back off the ropes. Natalya with a snap suplex on Carmella. Natalya with a second snap suplex. Natalya with a snapmare on Carmella and then pulls back on her arms driving her knee into her back. Natalya with a quick clothesline on Carmella and flips back up. Natalya sits on top of Carmella for a cover and Carmella pushes her away. Natalya with elbows and then applies an abdominal stretch on Carmella. Natalya cuts off Carmella with a quick clothesline. Carmella gets Natalya down in her head scissors submission. Natalya taps.
Winner: Carmella

Renee Young introduces a video package looking at John Cena and AJ Styles.
Backstage, we see a shot of Baron Corbin attacking Kalisto.
Dolph Ziggler and WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose head to the ring. Ziggler is glaring at Ambrose during his entrance. The tag team main event is up next.

Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan
Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan attack Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler right away. It appears we will start off with Wyatt and Ambrose. Ambrose with a jumping clothesline and right hands on Wyatt. Ambrose with kicks to Wyatt in the corner. Ziggler tags himself in and takes a kick from Wyatt. Ambrose and Ziggler with rights to Wyatt. Ziggler with another right and Wyatt avoids a neckbreaker attempt. Ziggler with a quick dropkick on Wyatt. Wyatt avoids a DDT attempt and Rowan clotheslines Ziggler from the ring apron as we go to a break.
-Commercial Break-
We are back live as Wyatt plants Ziggler with a scoop slam and misses a senton splash attempt. Ziggler with a hot tag to Ambrose. Ambrose with repeated clotheslines to Wyatt. Ambrose with an elbow and running bulldog. Ambrose with a shot on Rowan and then leaps over the top rope taking out Rowan. Ambrose throws the face of Rowan off the announce table. Back inside, Wyatt levels Ambrose with a right hook clothesline. Tag to Rowan who hits the ropes and splashes over Ambrose getting a two count. Rowan props Ambrose over the top rope and throws down right hands. Rowan with a big boot that drops Ambrose off the top turnbuckle. Ziggler jumps down to check on and fire up Ambrose. Tag to Wyatt who is sent back first into the barricade by Ambrose. Ambrose jumps off the ring apron, Wyatt catches him and plants him over the ring. Wyatt slides Ambrose back in and then does his creepy look backwards in the corner. Wyatt counters Dirty Deeds. Ambrose with a swinging neckbreaker. Ziggler wants the tag. Tags to Ziggler and Rowan. Ziggler with big clotheslines and Rowan stays on his feet. Ziggler with a splash and neckbreaker combo on Rowan. Ziggler drops Wyatt and connects with an elbow drop over Rowan. Ziggler with a roll up for two on Rowan. Ziggler plants Rowan with a big DDT and gets another two count. Rowan with a spinning kick on Ziggler that gets a very close two count. Zig Zag on Rowan. Wyatt breaks up the pinfall attempt. Ambrose is in, avoids a Sister Abigail and tosses Wyatt out. Ambrose with a suicide dive and more of his foot caught Wyatt. Ziggler counters Rowan and connects with a superkick. Ziggler goes for the cover and gets the pinfall.
Winners: Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler
After the match, the referee raises the arms of both Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler slaps the shoulder of Ambrose for a good match. Ambrose then kicks Ziggler and connects with Dirty Deeds. Ambrose smiles and puts the WWE World Championship over his shoulder. The crowd starts up a loud “YES” chant in Bakersfield. Smackdown goes off the air with Ambrose leaving the ring and taking a look back at Ziggler.
