Welcome to our WrestlingINC.com Smackdown coverage. This is the go-home show before this weekend’s Elimination Chamber, and we’ll see former Shield teammates Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns tag up to face Kane and Seth Rollins.
– Dean Ambrose comes out and says the YouTube footage of Rollins the cameraman exonerated him and allowed him to get out of jail. He told Roman Reigns to buy him some time for the contract signing, and he did. Dean says the age of Ambrose begins Sunday.
Lumberjack Match: Cesaro & Kidd (w/ Natalya) vs. Lucha Dragons
The other participants in this weekend’s Elimination Chamber match are the lumberjacks. Cesaro and Kidd start off with a German suplex and European uppercut combo to Sin Cara, who lands an astro scissors whip and tags out to Kalisto.
Kalisto tosses Cesaro outside, and the lumberjacks heave him back inside for a two count. Kalisto is tossed in the air and Cesaro & Kidd hit a Rockerplex. Cesaro argues with the lumberjacks outside as we go to a commercial.
We come back to Cesaro controlling Kalisto, but Kalito jumps and flips off of his shoulders and makes the hot tag to Sin Cara who runs wild until he eats a Kidd head scissors. Cesaro follows up with the Uppercut Parade.
Cara rolls up Cesaro for two, and hits the tilt-a-whirl armbreaker for two as well. Everyone is in the ring until Cesaro gets tossed. Kidd lands the Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring, but Sin Cara deliberately breaks it up without being tagged. Xavier grabs Kidd’s foot, allowing Kalisto to hit his finish for the win.
Winners: Lucha Dragons
– Backstage segment with Kane, Rollins and J&J. This was a lot of nothing.
King Barrett vs. R-Truth
We get a couple of in-set promos from both guys explaining why they’ll win on Sunday. Barrett jumps R-Truth early, dropping him and posting him for a one count. Barrett then applies a headlock. Barrett then gets a two count off of a big kick.
Barrett continues controlling things with a suplex, and sets up for a Bull Hammer. Truth evades and lands the Lie Detector for the win.
Winner: R-Truth
Sheamus comes out and hits a Brogue Kick on both guys, and leaves them lying.
– We see Lana backstage and she says she is no man’s possession. Lana says that she has no relationship with Dolph Ziggler, but laughs. She says Ziggler will still be there Sunday.
Rusev comes by and asks if Ziggler is at home drinking hot cocoa tonight. That was hilarious. Lana asks if he’s jealous, and Rusev says no. Lana is trying to play with Rusev’s money and emotions, and he’s not having it.
Rusev vs. Ryback
The two brute each other around the ring until Ryback hits a big boot to the chest. Ryback hits a really impressive stalling vertical suplex for a two and works on the back of Rusev. Rusev finally turns the tides and methodically attacks Ryback. The “we want Lana” chants get to him and allows Ryback to get in a little bit of offense.
We see Rusev tossed outside and land hard on the floor. He then grabs Ryback and hits a big fallaway slam on the ground as we go to a commercial. I’m not really sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the spot where Rusev got his ankle hurt.
We come back and Ryback is still getting beat down, despite the obvious injury to Rusev. He rolls outside, then tosses Ryback into the steel post repeatedly and gets DQ’d.
Winner: Ryback via DQ
– We get a short recap of the problems between Paige and Naomi.
Paige attacks early and controls the match for several minutes until Naomi drops her arm over the ropes. Naomi goes to use cheap tactics, choking, hair pulling and the like before going back to work on Paige’s arm. Paige gains control, takes out Tamina and hits the RamPaige for the win.
Winner: Paige
– Kevin Owens comes out and they recap him hurting Zayn. He says he’ll do the same to Cena this weekend. Ambrose and Owens get face to face as they walk by each other on the ramp.
Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose vs. WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins & Kane (w/ J&J Security)
Rollins attacks early on, landing a cheap shot and darting from the ring. However, Dean Ambrose gets control and hits a big bulldog on Kane that sends him and Rollins out of the ring to regroup. We go to a break as they talk to J&J outside.
We come back to J&J cheating and attacking Ambrose outside the ring, before rolling him back in to Rollins. Ambrose clocks Rollins, but Rollins knocks Ambrose off the apron and hits the Slingblade for two. Kane and Rollins tag in and out, beating down Ambrose. Dean fights back briefly, but gets tossed outside where he’s attacked by J&J again.
Ambrose clotheslines J&J over the announce tables, but Rollins attacks. Ambrose takes Rollins out before hitting Kane with a tornado DDT. Reigns gets the tag and lands a big Samoan drop on Rollins, while Ambrose takes Kane out with a dive.
Rollins dodges a Superman punch and sets up for a powerbomb, which gets him punched instead. J&J break it up for the DQ.
Winners: Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns via DQ
Ambrose with a suicide dive on J&J, but New Day come out and help the Authority. Reigns takes them all out with a big dive, and then he and Ambrose destroy New Day. Kane and Rollins attack and leave the faces lying.
