IN RING SEGMENT
Justin Roberts started off the show by introducing former 12 time World Champion, Edge. As he makes his way down to the ring, the announcers hyped the Cutting Edge show that took place later on in the night. Edge said that he missed this all, and even if he never gets a chance to come down again he will always love it, and it was great for him to be able to come back in front of his home town crowd. He goes on to say that he missed having matches, and seeing his friends and the crowds. He also missed walking into a room and having his music hit and pyros because that doesn’t happen in real life. Edge then brought up how he is hosting Cutting Edge later on in the night with Mark Henry and World Champion, Randy Orton. Then Cody Rhodes music hit and he came out with mic in hand. Cody thought Edge was just going to come out and talk about his new show. He went up to say that it sounds like Edge is sucking up to these people, and he thought he was above that, maybe not. Maybe, he is just like all these blank and hopeless faces that are in need of paper bags. Edge cut him off and said that he needs to stop blaming everyone else and he should look in a mirror even if his face was disfigured. Cody returned with it looks like Edge is frustrated last time he saw Edge, he was retaining his World Championship but now Cody is the Intercontinental Champion and beat Randy Orton last week on RAW so he is the triumphant one and Edge is the tragedy. Cody then handed Edge a paper bag. Cody knew that Edge wouldn’t put it on but wanted Edge to take the bag home and put it on his mantle to show that there is a new face on Friday Nights, Cody Rhodes. Edge replied that if Cody is the face of Smackdown then Smackdown needs a paper bag over it. Edge then went on to say that he thought Cody was going to keep talking and if that was the case he was just going to leave, which he did as his music hit to a fuming Cody Rhodes. Rhodes then went around the ringside yelling at people who needed a paper bag till one of them hit Cody, which turned out to be Ted DiBiase. Ted’s ambush was successful and ended with him hitting the dream street.
SINGLES MATCH
Daniel Bryan defeated Sin Cara by DQ: Sin Cara would not stop after a five count.
IN RING SEGMENT
After Sin Cara was disqualified from the match he continued the assault on Daniel Bryan. As this went on, all of a sudden Sin Cara’s music hit and a second Sin Cara emerged from the back and made his way to the ring. The two Sin Cara’s then stared one another down in the ring. Both men played up the crowd and just before any altercation took place one of the Sin Cara’s left the ring.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Zack Ryder and Teddy Long were in Long’s office talking about Mark Henry and how would Henry and Orton not touch one another during the Cutting Edge segment, and Long responded with the two of them would be under a no contact rule like last week during the Cutting Edge. Ryder then left to deliver the message to both men, and Aksana then came into the office. Aksana said that in her old country it was her job to give massages to hard workingmen. She then began to rub his back as Trish Stratus walked into the office. Long was rather flustered about the situation as Trish excused herself.
DIVAS MATCH
Beth Phoenix defeated A.J.: Phoenix won with the Glam Slam.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Trish Stratus was standing backstage with Edge talking about gloves to wear during yoga. As Edge was trying them on Christian walked over to them and said that it was great to see her as she had something to sell. Christian then turned his attention to Edge and said how great it was to be reunited once again with Edge, which lead to SummerSlam being brought up. Christian said that maybe Edge cost him the title, maybe he didn’t the point was that Edge was speaking his mind and he was right. The two then brought it in for a hug. Christian then went on and said that he knows Edge has his Cutting Edge show tonight, but how about before that he stop by Teddy’s office and pay Christian back by telling Long that he deserved one more match for the World Heavyweight Championship, because he deserved it. Edge gave Christian a look, which caused him to freak out and storm off as Edge said for the second time that Christian was being a little bitch. Ryder then ran into frame saying that Edge needed to tell Mark and Randy about the no contact ruling that night and then ran off before Edge could even respond.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Sheamus & Justin Gabriel defeated Wade Barrett & Christian: Gabriel won with the 450 splash on Barrett.
SINGLES MATCH
The Great Khali defeated Heath Slater by DQ: Jinder Mahal came down and attacked Khali during the match for the disqualification.
SINGLES MATCH
R-Truth defeated Evan Bourne: Truth won with the Lie Detector.
IN RING SEGMENT
Edge made his way down to the ring to start The Cutting Edge. Edge started out by bringing up what Cody had said earlier in the night, which then lead Edge to talk about how important Toronto has been to him, and how important championship gold is in the WWE. He then introduced the challenger Mark Henry to the ring, and then Edge introduced the World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton. Once both men are in the ring, Edge reminds both men that there is a no contact order between Henry and Orton, which seems to be a favor in Orton’s case. Edge’s first question to Orton was, does he actually think he can win at Night of Champions. Orton said that Edge was right Henry is the strongest man, but he only strikes Orton after he has already had a match, and maybe the reason he has never won the big one is because deep down he just isn’t that good, but to answer the question no he doesn’t think he can beat Henry, he knows he can beat Mark. Edge said that Orton is right, its hard to say but Henry’s career has been disappointing. Edge came into the company in 1998 and Henry was already a veteran, but yet he has never won the big one. Edge then listed a bunch of reasons why that maybe from fluke losses to injuries at the wrong time. Henry then made it clear the only reason he is letting Edge walk out of that ring tonight is because he is right. Mark had seen smaller and weaker men come into the company and win the championship. He went on to say he was told to smile and to show that personality, but he is done smiling and showing personality, he is here to destroy and take what Orton has, fifteen years he had to show what he could do and it didn’t work and come Sunday he will be the World Heavyweight Champion. Orton said that he has news for Henry, Sunday will be symbolic for Henry as he may come close but he will be a fifteen year world’s strongest failure. Things got heated at that point and Edge reminds both men there is no contact during the Cutting Edge, and the follows with the Cutting Edge is now over which leads both men to attack one another. Teddy Long sent in the entire Smackdown roster to break the two men up, which was unsuccessful as Mark Henry hit Orton with the worlds strongest slam and then took out superstar after superstar while also hitting Orton with a few slams and then picked him up and delivered another worlds strongest slam and then picked up the world championship and lifted it into the air to end the program.
