Backstage Segment
“The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre is shown walking with a purpose backstage. He storms into the Gorilla Position and through the curtains.
Drew McIntyre addresses CM Punk
Drew McIntyre walks onto the stage and heads to the commentary table as Michael Cole calls him a “hypocrite.” Pat McAfee immediately throws Cole under the bus. McIntyre stands in the ring, and a loud “CM Punk” chant picks up. McIntyre says Punk might have shown up if it was Atlanta or Charlotte but not Greenville. McIntyre says, “He only makes the big towns, brothers.” The crowd boos. Punk says when he is pushed that he is Satan himself. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist. The greatest trick CM Punk ever pulled was looking like a drug addict without taking any drugs. Actually, the greatest trick he’s ever pulled is getting people to trust him repeatedly, no matter how many times he breaks your trust. Management keeps taking him back like an abusive relationship. The other thing McIntyre doesn’t get is how the people buy into all the crap he spews out of his mouth. McIntyre doesn’t like talking to people like they’re stupid, but “if you’re a CM Punk fan, you’re stupid.”
Last week, Punk was in the ring calling McIntyre a coward and challenging him to a fight. Punk watched him leave the arena in his car. It’s like he has a stooge inside in Adam Pearce. The week before, McIntyre was on the stage, and Punk was in the skybox. Then he went to the skybox, and Punk was in the ring. Eventually, he’ll get his hands on Punk and torture him. Punk will beg him to tear his tricep. Until then, he won’t waste his time on a guy who won’t be cleared for the next twenty years.
Speaking of things that will never happen, Jey Uso lost another title match… McIntyre’s title match. His reward is McIntyre’s spot in the King of the Ring Tournament. It’s complete BS. He’ll deal with Jey later. The number one thing on McIntyre’s priority list is the World Heavyweight Championship and the paper champion, Damian Priest.
“ALL RISE!”
World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest makes his way to the ring. Priest says McIntyre has some serious issues. Since he can’t shut that hole in his face, why doesn’t McIntyre do something different? Priest thinks McIntyre should say what he’s going to say, but this time, he’ll do it to someone’s face. McIntyre says if Priest was listening, CM Punk has been running away every week. McIntyre will say something positive about Priest. Priest has paid his dues and deserves all the success in the world. Priest doesn’t deserve to be champion. McIntyre’s next-door neighbor, Dave, has an inspirational story, but it doesn’t mean he should be the World Heavyweight Champion. This is a case of the title making the man. The Raw Title is in its infant stages. It needs the man to make the title. It needs Drew McIntyre. Priest knew he couldn’t beat him one-on-one, so he used the briefcase.
Priest tells McIntyre to stop because he’s delusional. McIntyre is blaming everyone else for his failures. Did McIntyre not choose this life? McIntyre says he’s been a WWE Superstar since he was 21. McIntyre tells the crowd to say “WHAT” if Priest is a BS champion. They unwittingly oblige, but Priest says he’s still a champion. Priest tells him to look in the mirror and blame “that asshole.” Priest wanted to cash in on Seth Rollins. Then they could’ve gone to war at WrestleMania. McIntyre stopped him from cashing in multiple times. That’s McIntyre’s fault. Then McIntyre explained to the world that if Priest was smart, he’d wait until he’s champion to cash in. What happened? That’s on McIntyre. Priest wants to talk about WrestleMania. McIntyre finally achieved his goal. All he had to do was grab his wife’s hand and enjoy his moment. Then McIntyre saw CM Punk and made him more important than himself, this championship, and his wife. The crowd gasps. Priest then points out that McIntyre got his ass whooped by a one-armed man. Then Priest cashed in. McIntyre’s elbow will heal, and he’ll be cleared. If he wants a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, he’s got it. McIntyre can call him a paper champion all he wants, but when he’s done with him, he’ll make him eat those words. Priest says they can all rise for that. Priest walks off.
