“Then. Now. Forever. Together.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
“Wrestling has more than one royal family.”
“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring to a huge ovation. The Toyota Arena is sold out, and the crowd is on their feet.
Video Package: Last week on Raw, Jey Uso refused to join the Judgment Day. Drew McIntyre would go on to defeat Jey Uso. After the match, the Judgment Day beat down Jey until Cody Rhodes made the save. McIntyre would not return to help.
A “Cody” chant breaks out. Rhodes welcomes everyone to Monday Night Raw. Rhodes asks the people at home to indulge him for a moment, but he will turn his back to look at a sold-out Ontario, California. Rhodes has been trying to address this subject for two weeks: “Main Event” Jey Uso. Uso’s name gets a mixed reaction. Jey Uso coming to Monday Night Raw means someone will be drafted to Friday Night SmackDown. It also means a disgruntled locker room full of people who think Rhodes should let Jey Uso think. That’s not what Rhodes can do. While they are not best friends, perhaps there are other reasons he wants Jey Uso here. Maybe they’re not in the third inning anymore.
Regardless, he wasn’t going to stand by and watch a man get jumped by three others for making the right decision. The right decision was turning down the Judgment Day. They are undoubtedly the most toxic faction in history…
The Judgment Day’s music interrupts Rhodes. Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Finn Bálor and Damian Priest make their way to the ring alongside NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. Bálor asks why Rhodes always has to stick his nose in their business. Priest says they gave Jey Uso an opportunity to join them, and he turned them down. Rhodes cannot help himself and wants to save the day because it’s all about him. Mysterio goes to speak, but the crowd starts to drown him out with boos. Mysterio flips out and shouts at the crowd. Mysterio says Jey Uso will pay for disrespecting them. It is all Rhodes’ fault.
Rhodes starts to speak before saying it was rude of him and invites Mysterio to continue. Mysterio goes to speak, but the crowd loudly drowns him out. Rhodes says Priest talked about the Judgment Day being a real family. Mysterio has a real family, and they can’t stand him. The bigger question is why they haven’t come into the ring. This is Monday Night Raw. Before they do, the three of them are defending their championships tonight. What happens if “Mami” Rhea Ripley returns and they are empty-handed? Mysterio shouts at Rhodes to keep Mami’s name out of his mouth.
The Judgment Day starts to signal they are getting in the ring, but “Main Event” Jey Uso gets in the ring and stands alongside Rhodes. The crowd cheers. The Judgment Day gets on the apron, but they stop when Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn run in through the crowd and stand alongside Rhodes and Uso. The Judgment Day retreats from the 3-on-4 disadvantage.
As they back up the ramp, JD McDonagh joins the Judgment Day. McDonagh has two steel chairs and gives one to Bálor. Bálor and McDonagh charge the ring, with Mysterio reluctantly following. Priest isn’t happy with that but soon follows when his stablemates get beat up. Priest is left in the ring with all four of his enemies. Uso superkicks him, and Rhodes cracks him in the back with a steel chair. Priest retreats from the ring and is not pleased.
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Finn Bálor and Damian Priest will defend their titles against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn later tonight. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio will defend his NXT North American Championship against Dragon Lee.

-Commercial Break-
World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins wants an answer from Shinsuke Nakamura
World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins is standing in the ring, and the crowd is still singing his song. Rollins greets Ontario and welcomes them to “Monday Night Rollins.” Rollins wants to play a game with Ontario. If they are as sick and tired as he is of Shinsuke Nakamura ducking and dodging him, they can sing his song. The crowd obliges by loudly singing his song. If they think it’s time for him to defend the World Heavyweight Championship, they can sing louder. The crowd sings even louder. Rollins says since they’re all in agreement, there’s only one thing left to do. Rollins says for weeks, he has wanted a rematch from Shinsuke Nakamura, but he’s been avoiding him. Right here and now, Nakamura will give an answer. If Nakamura does not agree to a rematch, he’s pulling the opportunity. They’re moving on. There are a million capable talents in the locker room, and Rollins wants a fight. This is Nakamura’s last chance. The floor is his.
Shinsuke Nakamura appears on the titantron. Rollins told him to name the time and place. Nakamura says Rollins has so many demands, it’s no wonder his body is giving out on him. Nakamura wants to be the straw that finally breaks his back, but he has restraint. Nakamura has patience and has yet to show all his cards. Rollins showed all of his. Nakamura has a match so brutal that Rollins will not be able to walk and his daughter will look at him with shame. Rollins puts his head down and removes the large red sunglasses he was wearing. The crowd sings Rollins’ song. Rollins smiles wryly and reiterates the Last Man Standing challenge. There are no pinfalls or submissions. Two men walk in, only one walks out. Rollins says Nakamura played this one perfectly. Nakamura got the match he wanted on his own terms. Nakamura played it perfectly, but he has made one critical mistake. Nakamura thinks that Rollins’ broken back is a weakness to be exploited. Nakamura thinks he’ll beat him so badly that his daughter will be ashamed to look at him. This broken back is not a weakness. For Rollins, it’s a strength. The only way his family will be ashamed of him is if he doesn’t give it every single thing he’s got. His family knows he loves them, but they also know that he loves wrestling. Rollins is pacing around the ring. Nakamura thinks he doesn’t know that every time he steps into the ring might be the last time he does. If Nakamura thinks Rollins will give any less than 100%, he’s crazy. Rollins’ 100% makes him the best in the world and the World Heavyweight Championship. If Nakamura wants to get crazy at Fastlane in a Last Man Standing Match, only one of them will walk it… and it won’t be Nakamura. It’s going to be a visionary… it’s going to be a revolutionary… it’s going to be Seth “Freakin” Rollins!
Jackie Redmond is backstage with “The Highlight of the Night” Ricochet. Ricochet is on crutches. She asks when the WWE Universe can expect him back in the ring. Ricochet says he doesn’t know what to say. He’s here and on crutches, but he absolutely will return. It’ll take a lot more than this to keep him down. Ricochet wants to make one thing abundantly clear. It doesn’t matter who wins the Last Man Standing Match at Fastlane. Whether he walks out or not, he has unfinished business with Shinsuke Nakamura.
