Gargano touches the ring steps and looks into the camera to say, “I missed you guys so much.” Gargano gets in the ring and poses for the crowd. Gargano is absolutely fired up!
Gargano takes a microphone, and the Toronto crowd chants, “Johnny Wrestling.” It is a super loud chant. Gargano puts the microphone down and enthusiastically jumps around the ring a few times to a huge pop. Gargano says, “Well, surprise everybody!” Gargano says it’s been nine months since he’s been in a wrestling ring. Do you still talk into the microphone like this? Gargano thanks them for reminding him who he is. For those that don’t know, he is Johnny Gargano. He was kind of a big deal in NXT. He’s a former NXT Champion, 3-time North American Champion, Tag Team Champion, and First Ever Triple Crown Champion in NXT History. Gargano won the Tag Team Titles in this very building. It’s great to see Toronto again.
Since he’s been gone, there have been a lot of questions about where and when he’d show up again. Gargano had the same questions and wondered whether he wanted to do this anymore. Then he remembered one day in particular where he was standing there with his 6-month-old baby doing some baby wrestling. A “baby wrestling” chant picks up. Gargano remembered that when he was younger, he had big, impossible dreams. He dreamed of becoming the Intercontinental Champion, the United States Champion, and the WWE Champion. Gargano dreamed of wrestling at WrestleMania. What type of father would he be if he didn’t teach his son that even the biggest, most impossible dreams can come true? If you work hard enough, you can get anything you want out of this life. You will never fail if you bet on yourself. Gargano is here in Toronto to bet on himself. Gargano stands here incredibly proud to say that Johnny Wrestling is back in WWE!
We’re just getting started… Theory’s music interrupts him. The holder of the 2022 Men’s Money in the Bank contract makes his way to the ring. Theory asks if this is real right now. It’s been nine months. Theory was with Gargano in NXT. A “Who’s your daddy?” chant picks up. Theory says a lot has happened in the pasts nine months. Gargano says that’s true. He’s changed a lot of diapers and watched a lot of Bluey. Theory has changed a lot, and it’s great to see. Theory says a lot has changed. He became the youngest United States Champion, competed at WrestleMania, and with the Money in the Bank contract, he’s on his way to becoming the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. It’s almost like all the things Gargano has dreamed of, he’s already done them. Theory says he couldn’t have done any of this without Gargano. When they were in NXT together, Gargano took him under his wing. It’s almost like now, he’s the veteran, and Gargano is the rookie. Gargano can stand behind him and be his caboose. He can carry his bags if he wants. Actually, Gargano can hold his briefcase and hand it over when Theory wins the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Theory can show Gargano the way. If Gargano doesn’t want to support Theory as he did, then maybe he can just go away. People love them together. Theory says they can do the high-five for old time’s sake. Theory shouts for Gargano to hit him with it. Gargano superkicks him in the face and stands over his former protege.
