“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
Drew McIntyre makes his way to the ring. Footage is shown from last week of McIntyre winning a triple threat match against Randy Orton and Braun Strowman. McIntyre was then attacked by T-Bar and Mace while MVP watched on.
McIntyre talks about opportunity and making things happen. Sometimes it falls into your lap. Last week, he was having a war of words with MVP telling him he’ll eventually get a WWE Championship rematch. It soon triggered a bunch of WWE Superstars to come out. First it was Braun Strowman wanting a shot before Randy Orton slithered his way out to get a shot. Adam Pearce then walked out and made a 3-way #1 Contender match for WrestleMania Backlash. McIntyre beat two of the top superstars on Raw and stands before us as the number one contender.
Also with opportunity, you can just dive into the deep end and make a name for yourself. T-Bar and Mace decided to make a name for themselves last week on Raw. They weren’t the masterminds. McIntyre knows the mastermind was MVP. McIntyre has more questions than answers. Are they going to start wearing suits or take off their stupid masks. Maybe MVP will put a mask on and cover that ugly mug. WWE didn’t even pump fake laughter in for that. They’re in trouble when he gets his hands on them and gets retribution.
MVP’s music hits, and he comes out to the stage using his cane. MVP asks if McIntyre was really wondering if he’d address these ridiculous claims. McIntyre was expecting to be put to sleep by the Hurt Lock at WrestleMania. McIntyre also wasn’t expecting to be attacked by T-Bar and Mace. Maybe McIntyre should expect the unexpected. MVP then congratulates McIntyre on behalf of the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. McIntyre is once again a worthy opponent for Lashley to put to sleep at WrestleMania Backlash. McIntyre asks if he was behind the attack last week. Lashley is the Chief Hurt Officer making all the decisions. Lashley downsized the Hurt Business recently. Why would they recruit those guys to attack McIntyre when Lashley already proved he can beat him on his own. McIntyre says Lashley put the whole locker room on him before WrestleMania. MVP says T-Bar and Mace have zero to do with the Hurt Business. Instead of challenging everyone to a fight a few weeks ago, maybe McIntyre should focus on making friends.
McIntyre gets out of the ring and sarcastically says maybe it’s just a coincidence that MVP walked out while he was being attacked. T-Bar and Mace then blindside McIntyre and put him in the ring. T-Bar and Mace then give McIntyre a double-team chokeslam. They walk right by MVP as he smirks.
Kevin Patrick catches up with T-Bar and Mace backstage. They list some animals before Mace says saber-toothed tiger. T-Bar says that animal is extinct, which is what McIntyre will be when they’re done with him. In the ring, McIntyre angrily pulls himself up.
