Tonight’s WWE RAW Kickoff pre-show starts with Byron Saxton, Booker T and Alex Riley at WWE studios in Stamford. They plug tonight’s opener Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho in a steel cage. Booker plugs Jerry Springer’s segment with The Bella Twins tonight. We get more hype for tonight’s show and a look back at last week’s segment with the Divas and Stephanie McMahon. We also see Stephanie’s announcement on the Divas Title match at Night of Champions. The panel talks about the match at Night of Champions. Riley says The Authority is going to be watching Nikki Bella‘s back that night. We go to commercials.
We come back and the panel plugs NXT Takeover 2. We get another look back at last week’s RAW. The panel talks about John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions now. More hype for tonight’s show. Riley says Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns is a must-win for Reigns tonight. We come back from more promos and they hype tonight’s steel cage match with clips from the recent Wyatt vs. Jericho matches. More hype from the panel and that’s it for the pre-show.
Tonight’s WWE RAW kicks off with Michael Cole, JBL and Jerry Lawler on commentary. We see the steel cage being lowered as we go to a promo for tonight’s RAW Season Premiere.
Steel Cage Match: Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt
We go to the ring and out first comes Chris Jericho to a pop. Jericho hits the cage and the lights go out before The Wyatt Family makes their way out. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper watch from ringside as Wyatt enters the cage.
They lock up and go at it, going into the corner. Wyatt drops Jericho with a big shoulder block. Wyatt poses to a mixed reaction. Jericho nails a dropkick as Wyatt is running the ropes. Jericho takes control and works Wyatt over now. Jericho catapults Wyatt under the bottom rope. Wyatt pushes Jericho off and tries to escape out of the cage door but can’t. Jericho stops him and the door is shut. Wyatt turns it back around as fans chant for both men. Jericho fights back out of the corner and tries to climb the cage. Wyatt grabs his leg but Jericho kicks him off. Jericho climbs to the top of the cage but Wyatt pulls him back to the top rope. Jericho gets hung up on the ropes and Wyatt slams his head into the cage. Jericho comes off the top with a big right hand. Wyatt sends Jericho flying into the cage wall and splashes him into it. Harper taunts Jericho as we go to commercial.
Back from the break and they collide in mid-air. Wyatt with a 2 count. Jericho turns it around out of the corner and drops Wyatt from up high. Jericho with more offense and a bulldog. Jericho nails the Lionsault. They end up fighting on the top rope again. Jericho with headbutts to the gut up top. Jericho sends them both crashing to the mat but Wyatt stands up first with the spider walk. The cage door opens and Wyatt goes for it but Jericho pulls him back. Jericho almost gets the Walls of Jericho locked in but it’s countered. Wyatt chokeslams Jericho for a 2 count.
Wyatt catapults Jericho into the corner but he counters it and leaps up on the cage to climb out. Wyatt stops him again. Jericho jumps to the mat and runs back up with right hands. Jericho sends Wyatt to the mat and climbs up. He reaches the top but Rowan and Harper are waiting at the bottom. Jericho stands tall on the very top of the cage and leaps down with a huge crossbody on Wyatt. Jericho may have tweaked his knee. A “holy shit” chant breaks out. Jericho sells a knee injury but suckers Wyatt in and sends him into the cage wall. Jericho crawls for the cage door but Wyatt pulls him back. Jericho kicks at him. They brawl right by the door now. Jericho has half of his body out but Wyatt works on the hurt knee. They both have about half of their bodies out of the door now. Wyatt with more shots to the back of the head. Wyatt takes advantage of the injury and tumbles out of the ring for the win.
Winner: Bray Wyatt
After the bell, Wyatt slams the cage door on Jericho’s knee. Wyatt slams Jericho into the steel steps and brings him back in the ring. Harper closes the cage door with just Wyatt and Jericho inside. Wyatt turns upside down in the corner and taunts Jericho. Wyatt nails Sister Abigail to a mixed reaction.
Still to come, Jerry Springer and Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton. Kane and Seth Rollins are backstage when Triple H walks in. Triple H congratulates Kane on getting us off to a good start tonight. Triple H says this is the season premiere so we’ve got to put on something that no one will forget. Randy Orton walks in and there’s tension. Orton asks Triple H’s permission to do something to Roman Reigns that will make what Rollins did to Dean Ambrose look like Sunday school. Orton says Triple H won’t regret it. We go to commercial.
Back from the break and WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler is in the ring. Ziggler talks about the celebrity photo hack from last week. Ziggler says this type of invasion of privacy is reprehensible, even for D-list celebrities. Except one, The Miz. Ziggler shows us a photo of The Miz getting a facial while wearing a shower cap and a photo of The Miz shaving his chest. Ziggler goes to show another photo but out comes The Miz and Damien Sandow. Miz is upset about being violated. He says his people will sue Ziggler, Ziggler’s people and everyone in the world if they try to re-publish the photos. Miz says if Ziggler goes further, he will make sure Ziggler never works in this town again. Ziggler shows us a photo of Sandow spraying some tanner on Miz’s bare bottom. Miz hits the ring and Ziggler dropkicks him. Ziggler challenges Sandow to get in the ring. Miz gets up and Ziggler hits him with a Zig Zag. Miz escapes the ring and Ziggler calls them back in. Ziggler taunts them with the Intercontinental Title as his music hits.
Cole says we’ll want to DVR tonight’s Reigns vs. Orton main event. Still to come, Jerry Springer and The Bella Twins. They show a tweet from Pete Rose, commenting on Springer’s appearance. Back to commercial.
AJ Lee and WWE Divas champion Paige vs. Rosa Mendes and Natalya
Back from the break and out comes AJ Lee. WWE Divas Champion Paige is out next. Their opponents are Natalya and Rosa Mendes. Paige starts off with Natalya. Natalya keeps control and tags in Rosa for some double teaming. Paige rocks Rosa and turns it around. Paige crawls on top of Rosa and delivers a few headbutts. Paige keeps control and misses a move, landing on her rear. Natalya tells Rosa to make the tag but Rosa wants to get the win herself. Paige counters and takes her to the apron for several knees to the gut. Paige taunts AJ. AJ grabs Paige’s hair and tags herself in. Paige comes right in and applies the Black Widow on Rosa for the win.
Winners: AJ Lee and Paige
After the match, Paige and AJ have words. AJ has the Divas Title and kisses it. Paige looks disgusted. AJ hands the title back and Paige kisses it. Paige raises the title up in AJ’s face. AJ skips out of the ring and to the back as Paige looks on.
We get replays from Wyatt vs. Jericho already. We go backstage to Jericho in a trainer’s room. He’s in pain and gets some ice to put on it. Randy Orton runs in and attacks Jericho from behind. Orton unloads on Jericho and leaves him clutching his knee. Orton says, “sorry Chris, what can I say? It’s the season premiere.” Orton leaves and the trainer checks on Jericho as we go to commercial.
We come back from commercial and see Orton’s attack on Jericho.
Paul Heyman is in the ring. Heyman starts cutting a promo but is interrupted by John Cena to a big reaction. Cena hits the ring and says he’s right here, Heyman can say what he wants to his face. Heyman says that’s why he always tells Brock Lesnar that up until SummerSlam, Cena was the greatest WWE Champion of all-time. Heyman says Lesnar has authorized him to drop the warning and give Cena some inside information. Heyman says he’s been authorized to tell Cena how to beat Lesnar at Night of Champions. Cena says he already knows how. Cena says Lesnar beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania and we haven’t heard from him since. Cena says Lesnar beat him at SummerSlam and he was ready to fight the next week. Cena goes on and Heyman fires back. Heyman tries to get Cena to turn heel on the fans and yell at them to shut up. Cena isn’t buying it. Heyman knocks the Baltimore Ravens. He tells Cena to lose the wristbands, the t-shirts and forget the whole “hustle, loyalty, respect” concept. Heyman says when Cena gives in to the hate in his soul, he can beat Lesnar. Heyman takes the mic and there are loud dueling chants. Cena yells shut up but it’s in Heyman’s face, not at the fans. Cena says he’s not turning his back on the people who believe in him. Cena goes on and talks about how he does it for the kids and their dads. Cena talks about meeting a soldier on Friday night, a Purple Heart recipient, who told him when he lost his leg in combat Cena gave him hope. Cena says that’s why all he knows is to eat, sleep, be John Cena. Cena says he’s coming to RAW next week to fight. Cena tells Heyman to bring Lesnar but if he decides to take another week off and continue his vacation, Cena will fight Heyman. Cena tells Heyman to have a nice week and tosses the mic at him. We go to commercial.
WWE United States champion Sheamus vs. Seth Rollins in a non-title match
Back from the break and WWE United States Champion Sheamus is in the ring. Seth Rollins is out next. They go right at it and get physical. Sheamus unloads on Rollins and sends him to the floor for a breather. Rollins comes back in and gets a few shots in. Sheamus counters a suplex and drops Rollins on his face. Sheamus keeps control and nails an elbow to the face. Sheamus catches Rollins with the rolling senton and a clothesline over the top rope. Cesaro‘s music hits and out he comes in a suit. We go to commercial.
Back from the break and Cesaro is watching from ringside now. Rollins keeps control of Sheamus and goes for a 2 count. Rollins keeps Sheamus grounded with a headlock now. Sheamus turns it around and nails a pair of big knees. Sheamus hits the Irish Curse backbreaker for a 2 count. Rollins fights out of a hold as Sheamus was distracted by Cesaro grabbing his US Title. Sheamus has words with Cesaro, allowing Rollins to roll him up for a 2 count. Sheamus slams Rollins. Cesaro has the US Title on the steel steps now. Sheamus grabs the belt and they have a tug-o-war for it. Cesaro ends up on the floor. Rollins kicks Sheamus in the back of the head and barely hits a Curb Stomp for the non-title win.
Winner: Seth Rollins
After the match, Cesaro comes in the ring and lays Sheamus out with a Neutralizer. Cesaro raises the US Title in the air to a mixed reaction before leaving while his music plays.

We come back and get a look at Mark Henry and Rusev. Rusev makes his way out to the stage with Lana. Lana brings up how the Star-Spangled Banner was written in this decrepit city of Baltimore. Fans boo her and chant USA. Lana tells them to shut up. She sings her own version of the Star-Spangled Banner. Lana says here is the real national anthem and the Russian national anthem starts. We come back to the announcers and it appears Lawler is awkwardly kneeling on the ground. Cole leads us to a promo for NXT Takeover. Back to commercial.
Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze vs. Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn
Back from the break and we’ve got NXT Champion Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn, Tyler Breeze and Tyson Kidd in the ring. Cole plugs Takeover this week. Sami gets the “ole” chant as he starts off with Breeze. Breeze takes control and tags in Kidd, who beats Zayn down in the corner. Kidd with a kick to the back and a 2 count. Breeze comes back in and hits a big neckbreaker for a 2 count. Another tag to Kidd for some double teaming. Neville gets the tag and unloads. Neville gets the crowd going with his offense on Breeze. Neville hits a standing moonsault for a 2 count as Kidd breaks the pin. Zayn dumps Kidd over the top. Zayn runs the ropes and leaps out onto Kidd. Breeze whips Neville into the corner but Neville counters. Neville with a kick to the head. Neville nails Red Arrow for the win.
Winners: Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville
After the match, Neville and Zayn celebrate but look to have some friendly words about Takeover.
Still to come, Orton vs. Reigns and Jerry Springer. We see Stephanie McMahon walking backstage. Back to commercial.
Back from the break and out comes Stephanie McMahon to the ring. Stephanie says she hates to see families feuding and could only think of one man that can get The Bella Twins back together Jerry Springer. Stephanie introduces Jerry and out he comes with his security guard Jason. Jerry says he just had to come help The Bellas. He introduces Brie Bella first and out she comes. We get a look back at last week’s segment where Brie attacked Nikki while she was yelling at her. Springer shows us Brie’s apology on Twitter the next day. Jerry brings Nikki Bella out next. Nikki says she accepted the apology but she doesn’t forgive Brie for treating her like a second class sister all these years. Nikki says she’s moving on because she’s a sophisticated, smart woman. Nikki says she has a lot going on for herself. She says Total Divas is her show and she’s got a Divas Title shot in two weeks. Nikki says she couldn’t be happier and won’t let Brie’s negativity bring her down. We see a clip from Total Divas. Nikki says Brie might be the reason why their dad left them. Brie gets in Nikki’s face. Jerry says they were able to track the Bellas’ dad down. We see a video of him on the big screen. He asks Jerry to help us fix this. They also have a clip from their mom Kathy. Mom asks them to make it right for their own relationship, not for the fans or the family. More drama between these two. Springer brings out their brother JJ to the ring. JJ tells Brie to top acting like a victim. A brawl breaks out and Springer goes down. JJ tries to separate them. Nikki goes to slap Brie but she ducks and JJ gets hit. Stephanie comes in to break up the catfight. She checks on Jerry while the Bellas brawl. Referees and Springer’s security guy hit the ring next. Springer is selling a leg injury as trainers bring out a stretcher. Stephanie apologizes and Jerry tells the EMT’s this is humiliating. Stephanie continues apologizing and Springer gives the crowd a thumbs up as he’s stretchered out.

Stardust and Goldust vs. Los Matadores
Back from the break and out comes Stardust and Goldust. We get a sidebar video of The Usos. They promise hurt is coming to Goldust and Stardust real soon. Los Matadores wait in the ring. Stardust starts off for his team. Matadores take control early on and get physical with Stardust. Stardust rams one of the Matadores back into the corner and in comes Goldust. The end comes when Stardust hits Dark Matter for the win.
Winners: Stardust and Goldust
After the match, The Usos attack Stardust and Goldust on the stage and lay them out.
Cole talks about the late Joan Rivers and leads us to a tribute video.
Adam Rose vs. Titus O’Neil
Back from the break and we see video of The Bunny attacking Heath Slater last week. Adam Rose and his Rosebuds make their way out while Slater and Titus O’Neil wait in the ring. Titus unloads on Rose to start the match. Rose turns it around and The Bunny cheers him on from ringside. Titus catches Rose and slams him hard. The Bunny distracts Titus. Slater leaps off the steel steps but misses. The Bunny catches Slater with a superkick. Titus turns around to a kick and a Party Foul from Rose for the win.
Winner: Adam Rose
After the match, The Bunny comes in the ring and goes to the top. The Rosebuds cheer on from the ramp as The Bunny hits a splash from the top on Titus.
Renee Young is backstage with Roman Reigns. He says he’s got the anecdote for Randy Orton’s venom. Back to commercial.
We get a look back at Heyman and Cena from earlier tonight. Cole leads us to a video on Brock Lesnar. Cole and Lawler confirm that Lesnar will be here on next week’s RAW.
Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns
We go to the ring and out comes Randy Orton for tonight’s main event. We go to commercial.
Back from the break and out comes Roman Reigns to a pop. We get formal ring introductions from Justin Roberts. Back and forth to start with Orton going for an early pin attempt. Reigns starts to unload and Orton slides out of the ring for a breather. We go to commercial.
Back from the break and Orton is working Reigns over on the steel steps. He brings it back in and keeps control. We see Kane and Seth Rollins watching backstage. They end up on the floor again. Reigns goes face first into the ring post and Orton runs over him with a clothesline. Orton brings it back in for a 2 count. More action outside of the ring as Reigns rams Orton into the barrier and apron. They fight up on the apron now. Orton drops Reigns over the top rope. Orton runs Reigns into the turnbuckles and kicks him in the chest. Orton climbs up for a superplex and nails it. Orton covers a 2 count. Back to commercial.
Back from the break and Orton keeps control. Reigns drops Orton on the apron and hits the big dropkick from the floor. They come back in the ring and Reigns drops Orton with a big right hand for a 2 count. Reigns with shots in the corner. Orton counters and rolls Reigns up for 2. Reigns charges and Orton catches him in a backbreaker for another close 2 count. Orton with more offense and a powerslam for another 2 count. Reigns blocks a RKO and nails the Superman punch. They go on until Seth Rollins and Kane run down to beat Reigns down. Crew members run down with them and start getting ready for the cage. They triple team Reigns as the cage is lowered. Reigns fights back and the plan backfires as Orton is stuck in the cage with Reigns. Reigns unloads on Orton. They end up getting the best of Reigns after Rollins nails a huge dive from the top of the cage to Reigns. A big “holy shit” chant breaks out. Reigns takes a chokeslam from Kane. Orton grabs the steel chair and calls Kane off. Orton wants his turn.
Orton starts beating on Reigns with the chair. Orton tells Reigns today just isn’t his day and continues the attack. Rollins talks trash to Reigns as a big “you sold out” chant starts. Rollins nails a Curb Stomp on top of the chair. We get replays as Rollins’ music plays. Rollins, Kane and Orton stand over Reigns inside the cage as RAW goes off the air.
Winner: Roman Reigns by disqualification
