IN THE RING
Hornswoggle + Carl Edward w/ The Bella Twins + WWE Champion Sheamus + ECW Champion Christian: They showed the guest host (NASCAR’s Carl Edwards) doing doughnuts outside before driving into the arena but it turned out to be Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle danced around while 4 or 5 fans laughed before Kelly Kelly introduced Carl Edward to the ring accompanied by the Bella whores. Carl posed a bit and did a moonsault off the top rope, before welcoming everyone to Monday Night RAW. Carl said he always wanted to do that off the top rope, and there is no where better to do it than Louisiana. Carl plugged them winning the superbowl and plugged the Daytona 500. Carl said as the guest host he has a lot to live up to, and said his NASCAR buddies who hosted last time showed just how charismatic NASCAR drivers can be (yeah right), but Carl said unlike them he has a friend in the WWE, John Cena! At mention of this Sheamus came out. Sheamus said his superbowl is in 7 weeks, and its WrestleMania. Sheamus said he plans on walking into WM as the WWE Champion, meaning he has to win the Elimination Chamber match, and Carl better make him the last entrant in it! Sheamus said he doesn’t want Carl doing favors for Cena just because Batista beat him up last week. Sheamus said he is the champion, so Carl isn’t the guest host of RAW, he’s the guest host of Sheamus’ show! Sheamus threatened Carl so ECW Champion Christian came out!! Christian introduced himself to Carl, and said he is a huge fan. Christian said NASCAR is getting huge up in Canada, and Sheamus yelled at him for interrupting him! Christian said he came there to talk to Sheamus, and that last week Edge said he was either going to face him or The Undertaker at WrestleMania, without any mention of the ECW championship. Christian said he was offended until he found out that Vince McMahon said ECW was going off the air (Editor’s note: Which sucks for me because I like recapping that show!) and being replaced by the next evolution of programming. Sheamus said that makes Christian a lame champion. Christian said actually Sheamus was the one who was lame, and called him snaggletooth! Christian said its obvious Sheamus cares about how he looks, because he spends a lot of money on his beard trimmers and hair gel, but runs out of money by the time he gets to the tanning salon! Sheamus said Christian is quite the comedian, but the only thing funny is that in 2 weeks he will be unemployed. Christian said he’s wrong, because in 2 weeks every ECW superstar will become a free agent, and allowed to sign with whatever show they want. Christian said he had a feeling his RAW peeps missed him, and that he felt like he would test the waters by challenging Sheamus to a match! Christian said they’re both there, they’re both champions, and they both don’t have last names, so they should get it on! Carl said he sees no reason not to, and decided to start the match!
NON (WWE/ECW CHAMPIONSHIP) TITLE MATCH
WWE Champion Sheamus defeated ECW Champion Christian: Sheamus overpowered Christian early in the match, and when Christian went for a cross body block early on Sheamus caught him, and then threw him out of the ring! Back from commercial Sheamus seemed in control. Sheamus went to clothesline Christian out of the ring again but Christian ducked and pulled the rope down sending Sheamus over the top! Christian then jumped over the top rope onto him. Sheamus pulled Christians shoulder into the steel ring post outside of the ring, and then knocked Christian left arm first into the barricade. Sheamus worked on Christians left arm back in the ring, but Christian hit a nice missile drop kick a minute or so later, and then a European uppercut/elbow off the turnbuckle adjacent. Christian went for a cross body but Sheamus caught him and tried for the urinagi back breaker but Christian gout out of it. Christian rebounded off the ropes and ducked the bicycle kick but got hit with a clothesline right after! Christian hit a tornado DDT after doing his kick to the face at the turnbuckle move (stolen from Sonjay Dutt), and then went for the killswitch but Sheamus pushed him away! Christian jumped over Sheamus, but was then caught and thrown shoulder first into the turnbuckle, and then bicycle kicked in the head! Sheamus picked Christian up and hit the razors edge for the 3!
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Unified Tag Team champions DX (Shawn Michaels + Triple H): Triple H was shown watching his work out buddies match, when Shawn walked over to apologize for being distracted by Undertaker and WrestleMania. Shawn said that in 24 hours he didn’t win the Rumble and didn’t qualify for the Elimination Chamber match, but he has had time to think and that there is always a silver lining. Shawn said there is always a light, and that they had never been a part of WrestleMania together, but maybe this year they could. Hunter said that sounds good, but he did qualify for the Elimination Chamber! Hunter said while going to WrestleMania as DX sounds great, there’s a Chamber match for the WWE championship, and that he will do what he does best and win it, and go onto WrestleMania as the WWE champion. Shawn asked if it was all about Hunter now, and walked away!
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Legacy (Ted DiBiase Jr. & Cody Rhodes) + Randy Orton: Cody asked Ted if he was proud of himself for qualifying for the Elimination Chamber. Cody said he had to face John Cena, but Ted only had to face Mark Henry! Cody said he’s beaten Mark Henry before, and would have done it again. Ted told Cody to stop whining, and that if Cody had what it takes to beat Cena he would be in the Elimination Chamber. Cody asked Ted if he would have beat Cena. Ted said this was a good thing, because people always say how they are so much alike, but now its obvious Ted is better than him! Cody asked if it was the movie that made him think like that, when Randy came in! Randy asked if Ted thought he was better than him, and Ted said they would find out at the Chamber. Randy said he just talked to Carl, and that Ted would be facing Cena tonight to put Cody’s theory to the test! Randy asked Cody what he was so happy about, he got him disqualified at the Rumble! Cody said he didn’t mean to, and that he was trying to help him! Randy said he knew Cody meant well, and that he appreciates his effort, and that they have a match tonight!
IN THE RING
Straight Edge Society (C.M. Punk & Luke Gallows & Serena): Theodore Long was ringside for the match coming up. Punk said its no big secret that this region of the Country turns to drugs and alcohol when falling on hard times. Yet they do it when they celebrate too! Punk said they do it because they are weak, and don’t know any other way. Punk said tonight, while the rest of the world deems this part of the country un-savable, him and Luke will win the unified tag team titles and show them why straight edge makes them better. Punk said now is the time of the show where the viewers at home place their hand on the television screen and look at Punk to save someone from the audience. Punk said they have a celebrity in the house, Jared from subway! Punk told him to stand up, and said Jared reminds him of Punk! Punk said Jared preaches to millions of people, and they look up to him and follow in his footsteps. Punk said SES is looking for a good minister, and that while Jared is a good preacher for subway, he would be much better with the SES. Jared wasn’t interested, and Punk said he had a feeling this would happen, so he is going to make an example out of him. Punk told Luke and Serena to go grab Jared for him, but DX’s music starts!
UNIFIED TAG TEAM TITLE 3 TEAM ELIMINATION MATCH
Mike “The Miz” Mizanin & The Big Show defeated DX (Shawn Michaels & Triple H) and The Straight Edge Society (C.M. Punk & Luke Gallows w/Serena) to become the new Unified Tag Team Champions!: Before the match could get started Miz started yelling at Punk & Gallows so Gallows attacked him, and DX attacked Big Show! DX threw Punk and Gallows out, and then Miz on top of all 3 of them! When the match came back from commercial Shawn and Punk were wrestling while Miz hid in the corner. Miz tagged in Show (the way this match worked was 1 guy from each team is legal) and Show knocked both Shawn and Punk down. Show tried to splash both of them at the turnbuckle but they both rolled out of the way and tagged in their respective partners. Gallows and Hunter tried to work together but Show swatted them away. Hunter went for the pedigree on Show but Show back dropped him over the top rope! They cut to commercial again and when they returned Punk was working on Hunters left leg while Miz watched. Hunter exited the ring and Miz did his clothesline at the corner to Punk, and was pulled off the apron by Serena! Miz ran after her and right into a spine buster from Hunter! Hunter got the hot tag to Shawn, who hit the clothesline, decided against the kip up (last week Randy rolled him up from it) and hit a reverse atomic drop, followed by a chop and a body slam. Shawn hit the elbow drop from the top rope! Shawn got ready for the sweet chin music but Gallows knocked him down! Hunter ran in and clotheslined Gallows over the top rope! Punk went for the G2S but Shawn got out of it and hit the sweet chin music and got the 3! SES is out of the match! Big Show started taunting Shawn and pushing him around. Shawn tried to fight back but got hit with a side slam. Show tagged in Miz who pinned Shawn for 2. Miz went for the skull crushing finale but Shawn powered out of it and tried to get to Hunter. Miz tagged in Show and Show threw Shawn out of the way and stared down Hunter. Show turned around into a sweet chin music! Show tagged in Miz and Shawn tagged in Hunter! Hunter kneed Miz in the face several times, knocked Show off the apron and hit Miz with the spine buster. Shawn blind tagged himself in and Hunter stared him down. Miz ran up behind and pushed Shawn into Hunter, and then rolled Shawn up for 3!!! After the match Shawn took off his wrist bands, yelled at Hunter, and left him standing in the ring.
BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Josh Mathews + Unified Tag Team champions ShowMiz (The Big Show & The Miz): Josh congratulated them, and Big Show said they did something tonight him and Jericho could never do, defeated DX! Show said Miz treats him like an equal and a friend, and Miz said together they will run WWE! Miz said they are The MizShow, and they’re awesome! Big Show said he liked ShowMiz better because it sounds like Showbiz, Miz didn’t mind changing the name.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Shawn Michaels + Carlito Colon & Alicia Fox + Theodore Long + Triple H: Shawn was sulking through the back and asked Carlito & Alicia where “he” was. They didn’t know so Shawn kept walking and went up to Theodore Long (Editor’s note: How could he not see Theodore standing right there?). Shawn told him to listen, and said he needed to be traded to SmackDown! Theodore asked him about Hunter and Shawn said he didn’t care about DX! Shawn told him to replace someone in the SmackDown! Elimination Chamber match, so Shawn could win the World Title, give Undertaker a rematch at WrestleMania, and not only retain the title, but end Takers WrestleMania streak! Theodore said he couldn’t change it because the people in it already earned their spot. Shawn started to freak out and Hunter showed up! Hunter asked him what he was doing, and if Shawn was willing to throw DX and his career away for some obsession. Shawn said his career is over, and hit Theodore with the sweet chin music!
SINGLES MATCH
Gail Kim defeated Jillian Hall: Maryse was on commentary and called Michael Cole a vintage nerd again. Jillian threw Gail out of the ring and then threw her back in. Gail tried to climb the turnbuckle but Jillian pulled her down! Jillian went for a body slam but Gail reversed it into her weird kick thing for the 3! Maryse grabbed a mic and went up to the ring. Maryse said she wanted to congratulate Gail and that she was a fan. Maryse said she was looking forward to their match in 2 weeks and that she wanted to have a great match. Maryse said some stuff in French and shook Gail’s hand. — Note: Maryse’ promo in French last night loosely translates to: “You smell like garbage, it’s terrible, I can smell you from 100 feet away, I pity you, you are a little girl, a nobody, you are a nobody!”
WWE HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCEMENT: They showed a video of “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase Sr.!
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Carl Edward & Jared (The Subway Guy) + Santino Marella + Kofi Kingston: Jared from subway said Carl was doing great as a guest host (even though he didn’t really do anything), and thanked Jared for bringing some subway sandwiches. Santino ran in and said he just came from subway and plugged some deal, then started singing a song about Subway. Jared said he was glad that Santino was a big subway fan, and plugged more subway deals. Santino became serious and said Jack Swagger must pay for taking away his Royal Rumble match opportunity and he must pay! Carl suggested a match up on Superstars this Thursday, and Santino liked it. Kofi came in and introduced himself. Carl apologized for not putting him in a match, but Kofi said he is happy about getting a week off to rest for the Elimination Chamber match, but didn’t want to get rusty. Kofi suggested that next week each of the 6 participants would be put in random singles matches, and Carl asked if he should make the match ups, or if next weeks host should. Santino said he should leave something for next weeks host to do. Santino asked if next weeks guest host had class, and they cut to Jerry Springer! Jerry said that if they thought WWE was crazy now, to wait until the Jerry Springer show hit RAW, while they showed clips from that crappy show. Next week will be awkward.
SINGLES MATCH
Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton: Randy pushed Cody around yelling at him and pointing, so Cody slapped his hand away! Randy kicked him, so Cody retaliated with a drop kick! Randy knocked Cody around a bit and went for the superplex, but Cody pushed him away and tried for a cross body block, but Randy ducked! Randy got ready for the RKO but Sheamus ran down to the ring and distracted him. Cody snuck up behind and hit the cross Rhodes for the 3! After the match Sheamus hit the bicycle kick on Randy. Sheamus got ready for the razors edge but Cody got in the ring with a chair to back up Randy, Sheamus left.
BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Josh Mathews & Carl Edwards: Josh said Carl had a major announcement. Carl said he is going to leave his mark on RAW by having all 6 participants in the Elimination Chamber have singles matches against each other next week. Sheamus will take on Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase Jr. will take on Kofi Kingston, and John Cena (his “friend” he never interacted with all night) will take on Triple H!
SINGLES MATCH
John Cena vs. Ted DiBiase Jr. never got started: John Cena exploded on Ted and threw him out of the ring. Cena took off his shirt, threw Ted into the barricade, and got him in the STF. Cena wouldn’t let him go for a while, and then grabbed a microphone and got into the ring, leaving Ted laying there.
IN THE RING
John Cena + Vince McMahon + Bret “The Hitman” Hart: Cena said he wasn’t there to have a match. Cena said he didn’t want to know why Batista did what he did, he just wants to fight him! Cena said apparently Batista was supposed to take him out, but it didn’t work because he is still there, and that he’s not leaving until Batista gets out there. RAW cut to commercial and when it came back Cena was still waiting. Cena said Batista is either scared for his life, or maybe his unwarranted attack was a business decision. Cena said when he hears the words business decision, he thinks of Vince McMahon. Cena said he called Vince pathetic, and got attacked a week later by Batista on RAW. Cena said he has a feeling Vince did this, so if Batista won’t come out, he wants to talk to Vince McMahon. Vince came out with a bunch of security guards. Vince asked what he wanted. Cena said he only brought out 10 security guards, and that the sad thing is Vince thinks that is enough to stop him. Cena said next time he should come out with a tank. Cena said Vince could either get in the ring and send his security away, or he could send them in and Cena will mow them all. Vince sent them away and got in the ring. Vince asked if Cena thought he wasn’t man enough to step into the ring with him. Vince said he is the ultimate supreme alpha male, and that when God created the heavens and the Earth, he didn’t have Adam in mind, he had Vince McMahon! Vince said he admits that last week he brought out Batista. Vince said the reason he did it is so he could screw Bret again! Vince asked if Cena saw when he spit in Bret’s face. Vince said he had nothing to do with Batista attacking Cena though. Cena asked why Batista would attack him for no reason, and Vince said maybe its because he eliminated Batista in the Rumble, or because Batista doesn’t like him. Vince made fun of Cena for a while, but said he likes Cena business wise, just not personal wise. Cena accused him of only being about the money. Cena said he has tons of money, but all he cares about is making more, and spending some to get an advantage. Cena said he took a good guy like Batista (I guess Cena hasn’t been watching SmackDown! Lately) and turned him into an animal who only cares about cashing cheques. Cena said Vince does it for the money, but Cena does this because he loves it. Cena said he does it for moments like this when he gets to stand in that arena moments after Louisiana wins the superbowl, and gets to feel the crowd. Cena told Vince he can’t put a price tag on moments like that. Cena said he does it for moments like the Elimination Chamber in 2 weeks, he knows he’ll take a beating but leave as the champion! Cena said he does it for moments like WrestleMania, where never gives up stands for something and he’s standing in the ring in front of everyone holding the WWE Championship high! Cena said its why he does it, and why people watch it. Cena said he had a chance to talk to Bret last week, and that apparently he wants another moment. Cena said Bret wants one more match! Cena said Bret wants to wrestle at WrestleMania! Cena said Bret wants his opponent to be Vince McMahon! Vince said that’s the one thing Bret doesn’t want. Cena said yes, he does. Cena said here is Vince’s moment, he has a chance to have a WrestleMania moment. Cena asked if Vince is about the money, or about the moment. Cena started to leave but Vince said he is about both. Vince said he really doesn’t think Bret wants any of him. Cena asked if it was going to be a yes, or a no. Cena asked if Vince would hide behind his money stacks or is he going to go for the moment! Vince yelled for him to shut up and said the answer is yes! Cena thanked him for telling it to his face. Cena said Vince had one more person left to tell that to, and walked off. Vince said he guess he does, and that he knows that Bret is somewhere in Calgary. Vince said he has one reason why Bret doesn’t want Vince. Vince said Bret doesn’t want to be embarrassed again like he was last week. Vince showed a recap and Bret stormed the ring! Security pulled Bret off of Vince and Vince escaped! Bret decked both the security guards holding him in the face to break free. Vince said before Bret goes anywhere, that if he wants Vince at WrestleMania, the answer is now no! Vince said the reason why, is that Bret deserves to be screwed! Bret walked around destroying things and then stood in the ring posing.
