Batista + Stephanie McMahon (via sattelite) + Randy Orton: Batista said he was not there to whine and cry about losing his World Heavyweight title last week, but he was there to evoke his rematch clause. Stephanie McMahon came up on the big screen via sattelite from WWE headquarters and said a rematch tonight is not possible. Stephanie said that Shane made it clear that the winner of last week’s steel cage match would face John Cena at Survivor Series. Stephanie said Batista will get a future title shot but it will not be before Survivor Series. Stephanie booked Kane vs. Rey Mysterio in a No-DQ match and Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels!! Stephanie thanked the fans and thanked Batista for being so understanding. Randy Orton came out and said after John Cena gets his title shot then it will be his turn next. Batista said that history is written by winners, and history has shown that he’s beaten Orton in every way, shape, or form. Batista suggested he and Orton wrestle tonight to see who deserves the next title shot. Orton accepted, but escaped the ring before Batista could get his hands on him!
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH
William Regal w/Layla El defeated Santino Marella w/Beth Phoenix: Before the match, Santino Marella did his Honk-A-Meter thing and said after tonight he will be one step closer to being the greatest Intercontinental champion of all-time. Santino told the British fans that he was from the greatest country in Europe…. ITALY! William Regal came out and destroyed Santino Marella in less than one minute to capture the WWE Intercontinental champion in front of his home country!! Michael Cole interviewed William Regal in the ring after the match, and he said he would be proud to where the championship all around the world. Regal said he was a proud and loyal subject to the queen. Regal said most of all he was honored to be your Intercontinental champion.
BACKSTAGE PROMO
Kane: Kane welcomed Shane & Stephanie McMahon back to RAW. Kane said he loves torturing the innocent, that is why he likes beating on Rey Mysterio so much. Kane said he never liked being liked, not by his brother, not by the McMahons, and not by the fans. Kane said after tonight, we will like him even less… which means he’ll like himself even more!

Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix: Santino Marella said what happened tonight was a tragedy, so he called Shane McMahon and gave him a piece of his mind! Santino said Shane booked Beth Phoenix against Mickie James for Beth’s Women’s championship. Beth screamed and smashed Santino’s cell phone!
ON STAGE
World Heavyweight champion Chris Jericho: Chris Jericho cut a promo talking about his history with Shawn Michaels. Jericho said John Cena’s big return at Survivor Series is going to end badly. Jericho said he would show the fans that not every story has a happy ending.

Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes & Manu: Randy Orton gave Rhodes & Manu a “tough love” speech and said neither of them were in his league. Cody Rhodes slapped Orton, and Manu had to get between them. Orton whipped off his face and walked off.
SINGLES MATCH
Batista defeated Cody Rhodes: Originally it was supposed to be Batista vs. Randy Orton, but that match should be happening on a high profile pay per view. Before the match, Cody Rhodes & Manu came down and Rhodes said that Orton cannot beat Batista. Rhodes said that he would beat Batista instead, so it was Batista vs. Cody Rhodes. Batista easily took out Rhodes, and then took out Manu with a spear. Randy Orton started to lure Batista up the ramp, but Batista stopped just before throwing to commercial..

Beth Phoenix w/Santino Marella defeated Mickie James to retain the WWE Women’s title:

Chris Jericho defeated Shawn Michaels: Late in the match, Shawn Michaels climbed up a ladder and did the crotch-chop before jumping off and putting Chris Jericho throgh the announce table!!! Both men struggled to get their feet, but then suddenly JBL tried to ambush Shawn Michaels but he was flipped over the guard rail! Jericho grabbed the World Heavyweight title belt and smashed Michaels in the face with it! Michaels made it to his feet, and super-kicked Jericho out cold! JBL blasted Michaels with a chair and the referee counted both men down – but Jericho beat the 1-count to steal the victory!
