The 2014 TNA Lockdown pay-per-view kicks off with footage of Magnus arriving earlier in the day. Mike Tenay welcomes us and he’s joined by Taz. We see footage of Samoa Joe also arriving earlier today. We go to the Lockdown opening video.
– We’re live from the University of Miami as Tenay welcomes us. We go to Christy Hemme in the steel cage.
Kazarian, Daniels, and Chris Sabin vs. The Great Muta, Sanada, and Yasu in a six-man inter-promotional tag team steel cage match
We go to the ring and out first comes Kazarian and Daniels. They’re sort of dressed up as old school Muta. Out next comes their partner Chris Sabin. Out next comes X Division Champion Sanada and we see stills from Sanada’s win over Austin Aries in Japan. Yasu is out next followed by wrestling legend The Great Muta to a nice pop.
Sabin starts out with Sanada and they trade holds. More blocks and counters. Sanada with an abdominal stretch into a bunch of cradles around the ring. 2 count by Sanada. Sanada with a big arm drag into an armbar. Sabin turns it around in the corner but runs into a boot. Sanada with a right hand out of the corner and a tag to Yasu. Sabin kicks Yasu and in comes Kazarian. Fans chant for Muta. Kazarian with a big clothesline on Yasu. More back and forth. Yasu with a hip toss and a headlock. Muta tags in to a big pop. Muta with the big elbow drop and a crossface STF but Daniels breaks the hold. Muta counters and dropkicks Daniels. Muta spits his green mist into the air to a big pop. Yasu tags back in with Kazarian. 2 count for Yasu.
Bad Influence turns it around on Yasu and double team him. Sabin tags back in and drops a knee to the face. Sabin with a clothesline in the corner and a boot to the throat. Sabin taunts Muta. Sabin backslides Yasu but the referee doesn’t see the pin so Kazarian leg drops him for a pin attempt. Bad Influence double teams Yasu some more for another 2 count. Daniels keeps control now. Yasu fights out and hits all of his opponents but gets knocked back into the corner again. More double teaming by Kazarian and Daniels. Sabin joins in for the triple team and they hit a nice three-way dropkick for a close 2 count. Kazarian goes to the top but misses a leg drop. Sanada tags in with Daniels. Sanada unloads but Sabin comes in. Sanada takes them both out. Sanada has dropkicks for everyone. Sanada with a big slam and a close 2 count on Daniels. Bad Influence stop a tiger suplex and double team Sanada for a 2 count. Daniels accidentally clotheslines Kaz. Muta tags in with dropkicks to the knee on Daniels. Big leg whips for Sabin and Kaz, and then Daniels. Muta with a leg bar on Daniels. Sabin breaks it up. Muta fights off a double team and spits mist in Kaz’s face. Sanada and Yasu make comebacks. Sanada tags in as Muta hits a Shining Wizard on Daniels. Sanada nails a moonsault on Daniels for the win.

– After the match, we go to Tenay and Taz. They’re interrupted by Rockstar Spud’s music and out he comes to the cage. Fans boo Spud. Spud introduces Dixie Carter and out she comes to more boos.
Dixie comes out and speaks from the stage. Fans boo her as she rips LeBron James and The Miami Heat. Dixie says she still feels that some fans doubt her. She also rips fans and how they look. She says she’s going to turn this arena upside down tonight. She addresses MVP now. Dixie continues to brag about what she does and says she went to New York City to get some insurance to guarantee that her team wins tonight. She says Jeff Hardy breached his contract by walking out and she has made sure security won’t let him in tonight. She rips everyone some more and tells them to enjoy the show.
– Jeremy Borash is backstage with Velvet Sky, who is answering questions on Facebook. Eric Young is answering questions on Twitter. Young talks about Lethal Lockdown and says everything changes tonight. We go to a promo video for Samuel Shaw and Mr. Anderson.
Samuel Shaw vs. Mr. Anderson in an escape-only steel cage match
We go back to the cage and JB is doing introductions for this one, no Christy Hemme because of the storyline. You must escape the cage to win this one. Samuel Shaw is out first. Shaw takes the mic and says if Hemme doesn’t get out here right now, he’s going to “end it all.” Fans chant “creepy bastard” as Shaw climbs to the top of the cage like he’s going to jump. Mr. Anderson’s music hits and out he comes. Anderson says Shaw doesn’t want to jump because it’s not high enough. Fans chant for Shaw to jump. Anderson says all Shaw will do is break an ankle and be more of a goof than he already is. Anderson says Shaw needs at least 4 or 5 stories. Anderson tells Shaw to come let Anderson beat him up and then he will give him a ride wherever he wants to go. Anderson gets the “creepy bastard” chant going again and heads to the ring.
Shaw comes down and we get the bell. Shaw stalls and fans boo. Anderson catches a kick and nails a clothesline. Christy Hemme comes walking down to ringside as Anderson beats Shaw around. Hemme cheers for Anderson. Shaw hits a big boot and climbs but Anderson pulls him back down. Shaw blocks a Mic Check but Anderson hits a gutwrench suplex. Shaw fights back with rights and beats Anderson down in the corner. Shaw climbs the cage but Anderson stops him. Shaw fights back with right hands to the face. They fight on the top rope. Shaw slams Anderson’s face into the cage and sends him to the mat. Shaw starts climbing again. Fans chant for CM Punk. Anderson climbs back up and stops Shaw from escaping. Anderson slams Shaw to the mat with a back suplex from up high and they both land hard.
Shaw recovers first and keeps control. Shaw spots Hemme at ringside and creepily waves at her. Shaw requests the referee open the cage and as Earl Hebner does, Anderson sends Shaw into the cage door and that knocks Hebner back. Anderson drops Shaw with a Mic Check. Hebner is down with the key so you must climb to escape. Anderson goes for another Mic Check and this time drops Shaw into the turnbuckle. Anderson climbs out and wins but Hebner is still down and doesn’t see it. As Anderson was exiting the cage, Shaw pulled Hemme’s arm through the cage where the camera looks in. Anderson tried to help her but Shaw pulled her into the cage and knocked Anderson off the side. Shaw corners Hemme. Anderson finally gets the key from Hebner and comes to the rescue. Anderson takes out Shaw and helps Hemme leave the cage. Shaw with a low blow from behind. They go at it. Shaw applies his chokehold finisher and Anderson is put to sleep as Hemme looks on. Shaw walks out of the cage and this time Hebner is there to see the winner.

– We see Bobby Roode backstage talking to BroMans. Austin Aries walks up and he’s concerned about Dixie saying she has an insurance policy. Aries says he’s supposed to be her insurance policy. They all argue and Roode says Aries will be the one starting the match for their team.
– We see footage of Ethan Carter III’s recent attack on Kurt Angle as Tenay talks about Angle needing surgery. We go to the cage and out comes Ethan for his open challenge. Ethan starts out his speech with “I had a dream” and talks about how he always wanted to face the best. He starts talking about Kurt Angle. Ethan says Angle has lost his passion and his heart but EC3 never will. Ethan says he’s issued an open challenge for any one on the TNA roster to face him. The music hits and out comes Bobby Lashley to a big pop. Ethan says no because Lashley isn’t on the roster. Ethan runs his mouth and says he knows for a fact Lashley doesn’t have a contract so the match isn’t happening. Ethan threatens Lashley. Ethan continues running his mouth in Lashley’s face. Ethan swings and Bobby ducks before hitting a big running powerslam. Bobby with a big spear to send Ethan running from the cage. Lashley hits the turnbuckles to pose for the fans.
– We get a Kenny King return vignette.
Manik vs. Tigre Uno in a steel cage match
We go to the cage and out first comes Manik. Tigre Uno is out next making his TNA debut. Lots of back and forth high impact moves to start. Manik with a head scissors out of a headstand in the corner. Tigre leaps onto the cage and climbs up. Manik leaps up with him but gets knocked back to the mat. Tigre nails a shot off the cage and covers for a 2 count.
Tigre gets dropkicked into the cage and that knocks the door open. More back and forth. Tigre charges but Manik moves and he hits the cage hard. Manik with a backdrop suplex for a 2 count. Manik with a surfboard submission now but it’s broken. More back and forth. Tigre runs into a dropkick for another 2 count. Manik with a backbreaker for another 2 count. Tigre hits a double springboard head scissors and a spin kick. Tigre counters a move and nails a big DDT. Tigre climbs the cage but Manik stops him. Tigre tries for a powerbomb out of the corner but Manik nails a missile dropkick. Tigre counters a piledriver but gets powerbombed for a 2 count. Tigre counters and rolls Manik up for 2. More reversals. Tigre with a sick suplex on Manik’s head. Tigre nails a Sabre-tooth Splash from the top for the win.
Winner: Tigre Uno
– We get a promo for Gunner vs. Storm.
Gunner vs. James Storm in a ‘Last Man Standing’ steel cage match
We go to the cage and James Storm is out first. Gunner is out next but they start brawling on the ramp. The two brawl around the cage as the referee tries to get them in. Gunner with a big suplex on the floor. Gunner continues the assault and sends Storm into the steel steps. Gunner tosses some steel chairs into the cage and goes back to work on Storm. Storm counters and slams him into the steps. They continue brawling outside of the cage. Gunner slides in a part of the steps also. Storm knocks Gunner into the cage with the door. The bell finally rings and here we go. The referee counts Gunner but he gets to his feet.
More back and forth. Storm with a nice jumping DDT out of the corner. The referee counts Gunner again. Storm chokes Gunner with a rope from the turnbuckle now. Storm catapults Gunner under the second rope and tells the referee to count him again. Storm keeps control and beats Gunner around the ring. Gunner gets fired up and explodes out of the corner. Gunner with a big knee and another. Gunner gets blocked and eats a knee. Storm charges but Gunner smacks him in the face with part of the steel steps. The referee counts Storm now.
Gunner blocks Last Call but Storm sends him head first into a steel chair that has been wedged in the corner. The referee counts on Gunner again. Storm with a chair shot to the gut and over the back. Storm misses a clothesline and Gunner tackles him. Gunner drops Storm face first on a chair. Gunner slams Storm again onto the chair. Gunner goes to the top and comes crashing down but Storm gets the chair up and Gunner lands hard. Storm with chairshots to the back now. Storm stands up two chairs and goes for a powerbomb onto them but can’t get Gunner up. Gunner fights back and hits a big uppercut in the corner. Storm climbs up and they fight on the top turnbuckle now. Storm slams Gunner’s head into the cage. Gunner slams Storm into the cage now. More brawling on the top rope. Gunner superplexes Storm from the top through the two chairs that were stood up. Gunner makes it up at 9 and gets the win.
Winner: Gunner
– We see Dixie Carter’s promo from earlier. The Wolves and MVP are backstage and they’re fired up for tonight’s main event. MVP says if they go out there angry and not thinking straight, mistakes will be made.
– We get a promo for tonight’s Knockouts match.
Gail Kim vs. TNA Knockouts champion Madison Rayne in a Knockouts title steel cage match:
We go to the cage and out comes Gail Kim wit Lei’D Tapa. TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne is out next.
The bell ring and Gail tries to escape but Madison pulls her down. Madison works Gail over but catches a big knee to the gut. More back and forth. Gail blocks Madison’s scissor move on the mat and goes to leave but the cage is locked. Madison with more offense now. They fight on the side of the cage now. Madison uses her legs to slams Gail’s face into the side of the cage. Madison gets knocked to the mat and lands hard. Gail with a 2 count.
Gail uses the cage on Madison as Tapa yells in her face. Gail sends Madison into the mat again and covers for another 2 count. More offense by Gail. Gail with a running clothesline in the corner. Gail shows off and blows a kiss to the crowd. Gail with a backbreaker across the knee before stretching Madison out. Gail charges in the corner but Madison moves and Gail smacks the cage hard. Madison makes a comeback and keeps Gail down. Tapa yells for Gail to get up. Madison misses a big running kick and hits the cage. Gail climbs up to escape but Madison climbs up with her. They fight on the top rope. Gail with a big neckbreaker from the top rope.
Tapa opens the door so Gail can escape but Madison pulls her back in. Madison ends up flying into the cage again. Gail with another close 2 count. Gail tries for a top rope Eat Defeat but gets sent to the mat. Tapa gets knocked off the other side of the cage. Madison hits a spear from the top for the win.
Winner: Madison Rayne
– Samoa Joe is backstage for a promo. He calls Magnus a paper champion and says he’s coming to collect his belt.
Samoa Joe vs. TNA world champion Magnus in a TNA world heavyweight title steel cage match:
We go to the cage and out first comes Samoa Joe. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus is out next.
We get formal introductions from JB. The only way to win this one is by knockout or submission. Lots of stalling after the bell. Joe strikes first. Joe with another kick. Magnus stalls now. They go at it and Magnus takes Joe down with a headlock. Joe reverses and they trade holds. Joe with headbutts to the hand and wrist. Magnus goes to the ropes and Joe is forced to break. Joe keeps control with a bunch of right hands in the corner. Joe with chops in the corner now. Joe with boots to the face in the corner now. Joe with the running knee to the face.
Joe with an inverted atomic drop and a big boot. Magnus moves and Joe misses the back splash. A “paper champion” chant starts as Magnus takes control of the match. Joe fights out of the corner but Magnus cuts him off. Magnus with a diving elbow. Joe counters and sends Magnus face first into the cage, twice. Joe rams Magnus’ face into the cage wall 10 times and then uppercuts him twice into the cage, face first. Fans chant for Joe. Joe with right hands in the face as Magnus is busted open now. Joe bites Magnus and opens the cut up. Joe with a big chop to the back and a kick to the face. Joe drops a knee to the face. Joe misses in the corner and Magnus hits a knee to the back that sends Joe into the cage. Magnus slams Joe face first into the cage wall now. Joe is bleeding from the forehead as Magnus applies a Figure Four.
Joe turns the hold and Magnus breaks it. Magnus with a drop toe hold and a Camel Clutch on Joe. Joe blocks two sleeper holds and slams Magnus on his head. More back and forth. Joe drops Magnus and nails the back splash this time. Joe with a big snap slam and an armbreaker submission. Magnus gets his foot on the bottom rope and the hold is broken. Joe takes Magnus to the top and chops him. Magnus kicks Joe away and stands up on the top. Joe cuts him off. Magnus fights back with kicks. Joe falls back to the mat and Magnus nails the top rope elbow. Magnus hits right hands but they do nothing to Joe. Joe fires back with open hand slaps. Joe takes Magnus back to the top and chops him. Magnus climbs the cage but Joe crotches him on the top. Joe signals for a Musclebuster and nails it in the middle of the ring. Joe applies the rear naked choke but all of a sudden an arm comes from under the ring. It struggles to find Joe but grabs his arm and pulls him under the ring, breaking the choke at the same time. Fans boo and chant “bullshit.” Joe comes back out of the hole about a minute later and he looks crazed. Joe stomps at whatever is under the ring and stands back up. Joe corners Magnus in the corner and lifts him up to the top with a choke. Joe lets go and turns around to Abyss hitting him with Janice. Abyss nails a Black Hole Slam as fans boo. Magnus looks confused at Abyss but smiles at him. Magnus puts Joe’s own choke on him and wins the match as Abyss looks on.
Winner: Magnus
– We go backstage and see that Eric Young is trying to get at Abyss and Magnus but agents hold him back.
– Dixie is in her office with Spud. Dixie is on the phone with her insurance policy and they’re here. She’s sending Spud to get them. Dixie says tonight will be her crowning moment. Roode walks in and wants to know what the big secret is but Dixie says some things are left better unsaid. Dixie talks about Jeff Hardy being banned from the building. Dixie and Roode have words. She tells him not to screw this up.
– We get a promo for tonight’s main event.
Lethal Lockdown: MVP, Willow, and The Wolves vs. Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, and Bro Mans
JB goes over the rules. Out first comes Austin Aries representing Team Dixie. Out next comes MVP representing Team MVP. He gets a nice hometown pop and has on the Hurricanes colors.
Aries and MVP have words in the middle of the ring. Aries with a right hand to the face. MVP fires back with shots of his own. MVP with a big boot to the face. MVP misses another boot in the corner. Aries with a bulldog and a submission on MVP’s neck. Aries poses in the corner now. MVP blocks a missile dropkick and nails an exploder suplex. MVP with a knee to the face. Aries blocks the Ballin’ elbow drop and knocks MVP down. MVP turns it around and slams Aries before dropping a knee. MVP with forearm shots to the head. They trade holds now. Aries takes control and the next man out is Robbie E, who gets hype from Zema Ion.
MVP unloads on Robbie but the numbers game catches up with him and Aries joins in for the beatdown. Aries with a big elbow to the back of the head. Robbie with a boot in the corner. Aries with a boot to the throat also. The next man out is Eddie Edwards. He hits Robbie with a headbutt and fights into the cage. Edwards unloads on Aries and Robbie. Zema gets knocked off the cage. Edwards works on Robbie as MVP chokes Aries in the corner. Edwards and MVP double team Aries and then Robbie. The next man out is Jesse Godderz.
Godderz comes in and allows Team Dixie to take back control. BroMans work over Edwards in the corner while Aries has MVP down in another corner. Aries dropkicks Edwards. The next man out is Davey Richards. His shoulder is taped up but he hits the ring and stops a double team from BroMans. Richards dropkicks them and takes out Aries. A “fuck ’em up Davey” chant starts. The Wolves double team Robbie now. Aries gets triple teamed now. BroMans make the save and take The Wolves out. BroMans hit a double suplex on Richards but Edwards saves it and gets a single leg crab on both BroMans by The Wolves. Aries breaks it. Bobby Roode is out next.
Roode and MVP come face to face and have words. They go at it and Roode nails a big spinebuster. Roode lays out The Wolves and yells that TNA is his company. Roode takes the tape off Richards’ shoulder and goes to work on him. MVP tackles Godderz and unloads with right hands. We get another countdown for the final member of Team MVP but Hardy is still banned from the building. Willow’s theme and video play on the big screen. The lights go out. When they come back on, Hardy is dressed as Willow and he’s on top of the cage. Willow leaps down and takes everyone down at once. Willow squeals at the camera as the cover of the cage comes down with the weapons.
Lethal Lockdown begins but out comes Dixie Carter. She interrupts and has a special referee who is also her insurance policy. Out comes Bully Ray. Bully hits the ring and MVP doesn’t want to let him in but the match resumes and both teams go at it. Bully pulls a table from under the ring and slides it in. Aries nails Willow with a trash can lid. Roode with a chair shot to the back of MVP. Roode with a chair shot to the gut of Willow now. We see Spud bring out a chair so Dixie can watch from the ramp. Roode works over MVP now. Aries nails Richards with a trash can lid. Team Dixie is in control here.
Roode with a crossface on Richards. Ray yells at Richards asking if he wants to give up. Team MVP finally fights free and breaks Richards out of the crossface. MVP with a facebreaker on Roode. MVP nails the Ballin’ elbow drop on Roode. Willow beats Aries down and sends him face first into the side of the cage. Roode beats Willow with a hockey stick. BroMans double team MVP with a kendo stick for a 2 count. The Wolves double team to take out BroMans. They turn Robbie upside down in the corner with Godderz under him and a trash can on them. They hit a double Coast 2 Coast that’s impressive. Aries comes in with a steel chair and turns it around for Team Dixie. Richards with kicks to the chest of Aries now. Aries ducks the roundhouse and hits a brainbuster on Richards, sending him through a chair. 2 count for Aries. Willow goes at Aries now. Aries smacks Willow in the face with a trash can. Aries goes to the top and hits a 450 on the trash can as Hardy rolled out of the way. Willow with a Twist of Fate on Aries. Willow goes to the top for a Swanton on Aries for a very close 2 count. It looked like he counted 3 but said 2. Roode sets up the table that Ray slid into the ring earlier. Roode goes to do a RoodeBomb on MVP through the table but Ray gets in the way. Roode and Ray have words. Dixie looks concerned from the stage. Roode shoves Ray and yells at him. Ray lays Roode out and looks pissed up the ramp at Dixie. MVP and Ray make eye contact. MVP hits the Yakuza Kick on Roode for the win.
Winners: Team MVP
– After the match, MVP and Ray have a stare-down. Ray raises MVP’s hand and then the hands of his partners. Dixie and Spud flip out on the stage as Team MVP celebrates in the ring. MVP goes to the stage and stands up against Dixie. Spud tells them they will pay for this. Dixie takes Spud to the ring and she’s upset. Dixie yells at Ray from outside of the cage. Ray just stares back at her as Spud drags Dixie away. Ray waits for Roode to stand up and powerbombs him through the table. Lockdown goes off the air with Ray looking out at the crowd while his music plays.
