“Never mind that [mess]…here comes Mongo!” (RIP Steve McMichael)

It is Wednesday, my dudes…and you know what that means!

We open the show at ringside as Tony Schiavone welcomes Master P to the ring (while I check my calendar to confirm it’s still 2025). The founder of the No Limit brand comes to the ring and we find out part of his purpose here tonight, as he introduces the new AEW World Trios Champions in The Opps. Make ’em say UNHHHH…sorry.

The new champs make their way to the ring to a big pop, before Samoa Joe repeats the old Master P catchphrase. He talks about there being no better place to celebrate than here in New Orleans…but the celebration is cut short by Jon Moxley’s music playing, leading to the quick arrival of the Death Riders. They just about clear the ring, leaving Mox with Joe as the AEW World Champion lays into the man who made him submit.

Mox backs away and finds himself standing toe to toe with Master P…but not for long, as Joe gets back on his feet to lock Mox in the Coquina Clutch! The other Death Riders are still fighting at ringside as Master P says they want all the smoke before telling Joe to put Mox to sleep. This is brought to a halt when the Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada run into the ring with chairs, stopping Joe and helping Mox up.

The world champion looks at the Bucks before Shafir brings him out of the ring…and not a moment too soon, as Swerve Strickland comes out to ringside. This forces the Bucks and Okada to take their leave, before being confronted by Kenny Omega, forcing the trio to retreat through the crowd as The Opps, Omega, and Strickland. Joe grabs the microphone, giving some props to Omega before turning his attention to Jon Moxley to lay down the challenge for the AEW World Championship.

The Opps take their leave from the ring as we cut backstage. Renee congratulates Nick Wayne on winning the ROH World Television Championship, but Christian Cage insists the congrats should go to him as he takes the belt from his prodigy. He starts to run Wayne down until Nick talks about this is what happens when you stick to the plan, before walking off as we cut away.

Back at ringside, Ricochet and Mark Briscoe make their entrances and we get this opening contest underway!

Mark Briscoe vs. Ricochet

The crowd chants about Ricochet being bald, leading to him leaving the ring to confer with Nick Harrison (hi Professor!) in the front row about the fact Briscoe is also bald. The crowd does not relent on this matter as Ricochet gets back in the ring, taking the fight to the former ROH World Champion until Briscoe sends him out of the ring to land a scissor kick through the ropes. He leaves the ring to lay a chop on Ricochet, sending him to the barricade to stay on the attack. As the action returns to the ring, the two fight it out on the apron until Ricochet lands a pump kick…only to be intercepted by Briscoe!

With his opponent on the floor, Briscoe gives a shoutout to Cactus Jack for an elbow drop off the apron before bringing Ricochet back to the ring. Ricochet starts to fight back from this, but is cut off with a chop from Mark who sends him to the corner…only for Ricochet to use the ref as a human shield, distracting Briscoe enough to send him into the turnbuckle. He then forces Briscoe out of the ring, standing over him on the floor as we head to a full ad break on Max.

-FULL AD BREAK (ON MAX)-

Back from break, Ricochet has brought Briscoe back in the ring for a nearfall before Mark fights back to his feet, sending Ricochet to the corner. Ricochet starts to fight back but is met with several palm strikes to the head by Briscoe, who then sends him to the canvas for a nearfall. This leads to both men trading pin attempts, until Ricochet hits a Northern Lights suplex followed by a brainbuster for a close two count.

Ricochet gets to his feet, mocking Briscoe until the latter responds with a slap. Ricochet heads to the ropes for a springboard, but this gets countered for a nearfall by the former ROH World Champion. Ricochet counters a Jay Driller attempt but takes a Death Valley Driver instead, with Mark landing a running kick before going up top for a Froggy Bow!

NO! Ricochet rolls out of the way, forcing his opponent to the corner where he lands a kick sending Briscoe to the canvas. Ricochet lands a springboard 450 splash for the cover, but Briscoe kicks out. Ricochet heads to the corner but is soon intercepted by Mark, the two fighting it out until Briscoe sends him out of the ring for a dive. He brings him back in for a lariat and the cover, but now it’s Ricochet who kicks out…and sends Briscoe to the corner to block a Jay Driller. He takes Mark to the mat with a double-leg takedown, putting his feet on the ropes for leverage…but Briscoe rolls through, catching Ricochet with a flash pin!

Winner via pinfall: Mark Briscoe

Briscoe doesn’t get to celebrate long as Ricochet leaves the ring for a chair, taking him down. Mark tries to fight back before Ricochet reveals a pair of scissors…but before he can use them, Kevin Knight runs down for the save! Ricochet retreats up the ramp as Knight gets in the ring to check on Briscoe, and we get a brief look at Rock N Roll Express watching from the crowd before we head to commercial break.

-Commercial Break-

Back at ringside, Tony Schiavone begins to welcome FTR to the ring…but he is interrupted by Stokely Hathaway, who instead introduces the “living legends” as FTR come down to the ring alongside Big Track Suit Stoke. The trio enter the ring as Stokely talks about what happened. He takes the time to run down the crimes committed by people in AEW. Stoke promises he will have the suspension against FTR expunged from their permanent record, and the fine reimbursed to them. Any questions for FTR will now go through their new agent, Stokely Hathaway. With that, Cash Wheeler takes the mic to talk about Daniel Garcia as the crowd boos louder and louder.

Wheeler goes on to talk about Garcia asking them to stop the beatdown on 2point0, before talking about helping Daniel out when other vets left them high and dry. From now on, it’s FTR first. Dax cuts in to bring up the legends in the building tonight, pointing to Rock N Roll Express in the crowd. This brings the legendary duo out to ringside to a nice reaction from the fans New Orleans, much to the chagrin of FTR.

Dax pays a level of respect to the Express before asking them what they think their best match was…only to cut them off, bringing up their matches against the Midnight Express. They are asked about their age, only for Dax to make fun of them some more. When Dax starts to do this one more time, Ricky Morton calls for an end to this before Stoke reveals a brand-new FTR shirt…tossing it at the Express as FTR attacks them!

The former tag teams start to lay into the legends, looking for a spike piledriver before Paragon comes running down to make the save. FTR and Stoke escape through the crowd as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

Back at ringside, the Young Bucks make their way to the ring for our next match, followed by “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight. With all four competitors in the ring we get this tag team match underway!

Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight

We start off with Matthew and Bailey going at it, a double superkick attempt locking their legs until Nicholas comes in to intervene. This leads to Kevin coming in as well, with the Bucks getting an upper hand until Knight and Bailey end up sending the EVPs to the outside for a pair of planchas to a nice pop from the crowd.

They bring the Bucks back in but this leads to Knight being sent out of the ring while the Bucks turn their attention to Speedball, taking him down hard before Nicholas gets the drop on Kevin before we go to ad break on Max.

-FULL AD BREAK (ON MAX)-

Back in the ring, Nicholas tagged in to take the fight to Speedball, only to be rocked hard with a kick forcing him to tag Matthews back in. Knight is sent off the apron but Speedball fights back with a flurry of kicks to tag the Jet in! Knight takes off, sending Nicholas away to focus on Matthew by sending him to the ropes. Matthew gets sent to the mat as Knight continues the attack, only for Matthew to fight back for a pair of Northern Lights suplexes. Bailey tries to intervene, but Nicholas runs in to keep Speedball at bay.

This allows Matthew to lay into Kevin, taking him down for a cover…but Knight kicks out! Bailey gets a tag but is sent down hard by Matthew, who makes a tag to Nicholas. He calls for a superkick party but Bailey rejects the invite, only for Matthew to come running in…and he takes a superkick by Knight! Nicholas hits a superkick on Kevin, but is laid out with one by Speedball! All four men are down, but Knight and Matthew kip up for a double-down…and Nicholas and Mike kip up for a roundhouse kick that sends them back down!

Knight is back up and sets Matthew up on the turnbuckle as Bailey gets him on his shoulders…but Nicholas gets Kevin on his, leading to a game of chicken between Kevin and Matthew! Bailey and Knight manage to take control, forcing Matthew out and setting Nicholas up in the center of the ring. Bailey with a dive on Matthew as Knight gets the drop on Nicholas for a two count…followed by a UFO splash and the cover! Bailey tries to keep Matthew away but is shoved onto Kevin to break the pin.

The action spills to the outside as the Bucks take control, dropping Knight with a Doomsday Device off the barricade. This is followed by a Speedball dive ending with the Bucks hitting a TK Driver from the barricade as well…but the Bucks get caught in the ring as Knight and Bailey regain control. Knight goes to the ropes, but is tripped up by Ricochet…and this allows the Bucks to set up an EVP Trigger on Kevin for the win!

Winners via pinfall: The Young Bucks

Ricochet makes his escape up the ramp as we cut backstage to hear from Toni Storm, who wishes the semi-finalists of the Owen Hart Cup the best of luck before addressing her appearance at the TCM red carpet. Storm then issues an open challenge that is quickly answered by Queen Aminata for Collision on Saturday, before the Timeless One leaves.

Back at ringside, the Hurt Syndicate head down the ramp to address some things. First, they run down their recent opponents who are recovering from being hurt. With that, MVP hands the mic to Bobby Lashley…but he is interrupted by the arrival of MJF at the parking lot, before his music brings the former AEW World Champion out to the ring.

MJF enters the ring, saying he knows the trio had a good time last week as he looks for the three thumbs up he needs to join the group. MVP gives a thumbs up, followed by Shelton giving a thumbs up as well to a big pop from the crowd…but Benjamin cuts him off, saying he only got a thumbs up because of MVP, and MJF should not forget that. MJF says he loves MVP, and we also love our good friend Bob…but before Lashley gives his response, MJF stops him. He says if he’s in the Syndicate they’re gonna get it all. Bob brings a lot to the table, but there are things MJF can bring that Lashley cannot.

He knows the company better than anyone, and if he’s in the group they don’t just run AEW…they run professional wrestling. MJF realizes he’s been prickly toward Lashley and offers to tell him something he doesn’t usually say. Two simple words. He’s so–MJF can’t bring himself to say it at first, before the crowd urges him to say it. Bob…I’m sorry.

This gets a pop from the crowd as Lashley starts to give his response again…but MJF stops him again, revealing that if he gives a thumbs up, the car he drove to the arena tonight is all his. Bobby smiles at the thought of this, but wants the keys. MJF says the keys are in the back, and they offer to take a walk to the parking lot. Commentary talks about what MJF is trying to offer the Syndicate before we cut back to the parking lot.

MJF and the Hurt Syndicate arrive at the car, with Lashley wanting the keys from MJF to take a closer look. Bobby gets in the driver’s seat with Shelton joining him on the passenger side, and Lashley starts the car up before MJF says he just needs a thumbs up first. Lashley puts his hands out…and gives Friedman a thumbs down, before driving off with Benjamin much to the chagrin of MJF. MVP tells him to give people what they want, and MJF grits his teeth as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

Backstage, Hangman Adam Page addresses Kyle Fletcher ahead of their Owen Hart Cup match before MJF enters the scene to poke fun at him. Page has a go at MJF for losing the car moments ago before running him down for trying to get in with the Hurt Syndicate…before MJF brings up they are 1-1 in singles competition, and next time they wrestle MJF will take Seabiscuit out back and put him down. He then suggests that Page may make it to the finals of the Owen but he will choke, walking off as Page says he’s got something MJF can choke on before he too takes his leave.

We head to ringside as Will Ospreay and Brody King make their way to the ring for our next match, a big pop for both men before Konosuke Takeshita and Josh Alexander arrive alongside Don Callis and Lance Archer before we get underway!

Will Ospreay and Brody King vs. Konosuke Takeshita and Josh Alexander

We start off with Ospreay and Takeshita, only for Alexander to blindside Ospreay as Takeshita sends Brody off the apron. This allows the Alpha to get an upperhand on Ospreay before tagging Josh in, with Alexander dodging a standing moonsault to grab an ankle lock on the Aerial Assassin. Will fights out as the crowd chants for him, with Ospreay sending Alexander to the corner for a tag to King.

They double-team Alexander before King takes him to the corner, driving his boot into the throat of the Walking Weapon before Ospreay tags himself in to stay on the attack. He heads to the ropes but is tripped up by Takeshita, allowing Alexander to hit a running cross body that sends Ospreay through the ropes and to the floor as we go to an ad break on Max!

-FULL AD BREAK (ON MAX)-

Back from break it’s all on Ospreay and Alexander, with the latter forcing Will to the corner for a tag by Takeshita…only for Ospreay to fight back, taking both men down for a tag to Brody King! He charges at Josh and then Konosuke, slamming Alexander down hard before the Alpha fights back to hit the ropes…only to run into a lariat by King!

Takeshita retreats to the outside, but he and Alexander are intercepted with a big dive through the ropes by King. He sends them to the barricade before bringing Takeshita back into the ring for a lariat in the corner. Tag by Ospreay who hits a double stomp on Takeshita while he’s on the shoulders of King, who drops Konosuke to the mat for a cover by Ospreay…but the Alpha manages to kick out!

Ospreay continues the attack before Takeshita fights back, eventually hitting a Blue Thunder Bomb on the Aerial Assassin for a close nearfall. Alexander tags in, as does Brody as the two go at it before King hits a lariat for a two count. Alexander heads to the corner but he takes a big cannonball from Brody, who goes for the cover as Archer hops on the apron to distract the ref. He gets intercepted by Ospreay who sends him to the floor before Takeshita drops him hard, sending him into a powerbomb by Alexander. They turn their attention to King, setting him up for a double-team leading to a cover by Alexander…but King kicks out!

Power Drive Knee connects from Takeshita, setting Brody up for a C4 Spike by Alexander who picks up the pinfall victory.

Winners via pinfall: Konosuke Takeshita and Josh Alexander

The Family isn’t finished however, beating down King and Ospreay even further leading to a big chokeslam by Archer onto Ospreay as Kyle Fletcher comes down the ramp. This is quickly followed by the arrival of Hangman Adam Page, but he is cut off by Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero! They bring him into the ring where despite trying to fight back, Page is laid out by the Don Callis Family before Fletcher connects with a brainbuster. We’re reminded that the pair face off next week to find out who faces Ospreay in the finals of the Owen Hart Cup at Double Or Nothing, but up next is our main event as Kris Statlander takes on Jamie Hayter in the semi-finals of the women’s Owen Hart tournament!

-Commercial Break-

Back at ringside, it’s time for our main event as Jamie Hayter heads down the ramp to a nice pop. A similar reaction for Kris Statlander who gets to the ring as this match gets underway!

Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Semifinal: Kris Statlander vs. Jamie Hayter

The two go back and forth until Hayter forces Statlander out of the ring, but Kris returns to turn things around on the former Women’s World Champion sending her to the corner. Jamie fights back, and evades a big kick from the former TBS Champion as we go to a full ad break on Max.

-FULL AD BREAK (ON MAX)-

Back from break, both women are in ring once more as Statlander connects with a kick on Hayter before they trade hitting the ropes for an upper hand…and this ends with a German suplex securing a nearfall for Statlander. She goes for a dragon sleeper on Hayter, who forces Kris on her shoulders for a nearfall to bring a slight break in the action. Statlander transitions to another hold but Jamie counters for a two count, before locking in a headscissors. She starts going to the ropes seemingly for leverage, but this allows Statlander to bring her up before dropping the former Women’s World Champion to the mat for a nearfall. Hayter fights back for a two count of her own, before Statlander reverses for the same result. Hayter drops Statlander but the former TBS Champion strikes back, until Jamie takes her down with a Hayt-breaker for a close nearfall.

Kris ducks a Hayterade attempt for a lariat of her own, going up top for a 450 splash and the cover…but Jamie manages to kick out just in time to save the match for herself! Statlander goes back up but is intercepted by Hayter, leading to the two fighting on the turnbuckle…before Hayter catches Statlander with lariat on the way down! She brings Kris back to her feet for a Hayterade to get the pin and the win!

Winner via pinfall (and advancing to the finals): Jamie Hayter

Hayter’s celebration is cut short by the arrival of Mercedes Moné, who stands next to the Owen Hart Cup trophy on the stage as she and Hayter exchange words ahead of their match at Double Or Nothing. Commentary runs down the lineup for next week and beyond heading toward the next PPV event, with Moné’s music continuing to play as Hayter runs her down from the ring. Jamie’s music then hits to remind everyone who won in tonight’s main event, with Moné just smirking from the stage as Dynamite comes to a close.
