It is Wednesday, my dudes…you know what that means.

A new intro welcomes us to the season premiere of Dynamite, featuring a new stage with the return of the dual tunnels. Inside the ring, Tony Schiavone is standing by as Swerve Strickland makes his way out alongside Prince Nana. Swerve and Nana arrive to the ring as Tony reacts to the fan response to Strickland. The fans chant about this being “Swerve’s house” as Tony asks him what’s next.

Swerve says he’s not sure if he deserves such a response. What is Swerve’s house without the keys? He addresses not getting the job done at Revolution, where Samoa Joe retained the AEW World Championship. He recounts standing on the stage with Tony at Revolution 2022 when he first signed with the company, and the goals he had he stated back then…only to realize where he’s at now.

He says maybe this is payback, karma for the bad things he’s done. Swerve takes a pause as the crowd reassert this is “Swerve’s house,” but Strickland says maybe he’s not supposed to be a champion here. Maybe he just needs to be the guy that gets so close but not quite there. The crowd chants “you deserve it” as Swerve says something about Sunday felt different. He sees them chanting his name and all that, but something at Revolution felt different…and people were truly rooting for him for the first time.

He even heard people flew from all over the world including his home state of Washington to be in the presence of Swerve, and to that Strickland says he will not let them down. Swerve then addresses Samoa Joe, saying he will come after the champ at some point and he will become the new AEW World Champion. Whose house? Swerve’s house!

This statement brings out the champ himself as Samoa Joe heads to the ring. Joe seems to mock Swerve, wiping his title with a towel before taking a microphone to speak. He says Swerve seems like he’s “talking funny” for a man the champ beat down. Joe came out here to give a reality check, to adjust the perception a bit. Here we are, in Swerve’s house…to which the fans respond in kind…but unfortunately, Swerve’s house exists in Joe’s world.

Instead of letting the fans be disappointed in looking at an almost champion, he would let the fans rest their eyes upon the actual champion. Swerve tells Joe not to turn his back on him again, calling him out for taunting him as if looking for a fight…before issuing a challenge for the title tonight. In fact, how about right now?

Joe looks ready to go, but they are interrupted by the arrival of Undisputed Kingdom, alongside Adam Cole…who asks who’s ready for story time with Adam Cole, baybay. Cole talks up his compatriots, before stating that Joe is only AEW World Champion because of their help. He promises that Wardlow will soon go after the title and bring it where back it belongs.

Swerve has a laugh at this, running down Adam Cole for his failed opportunities to win the title and looking like Dr. Claw with his act as manager for this group, joking that if he needs new clients Swerve has Britt Baker’s second number saved. This infuriates Cole, who challenges Joe and Strickland to a tag match against two of his men…next week.

Swerve says why not right now? Cole scoffs at this, but Schiavone gets word from Tony Khan that the match IS happening…right now. He calls for a referee to come out, and Taven and Bennett run in to protect the group’s honor as this match gets underway!

Swerve Strickland & Samoa Joe vs. Undisputed Kingdom’s Matt Taven & Mike Bennett

Bennett and Taven struggle at the start, falling victim to Joe’s antics (including the dreaded “nope” spot) before this match gets to picture-in-picture!

Picture-in-Picture: The ROH World Tag Team Champions manage to get it together during the break, however, keeping the AEW World Champion isolated in the corner for an onslaught of offense that keeps Joe at bay as we come back from break!

Crowd chanting for Strickland as Joe starts to fight back, dropping Bennett down before Swerve tags himself in! Strickland unloads a flurry of offense on both men, sending Taven out of the ring before focusing his attention back on Bennett. Swerve goes up for a Swerve Stomp but is intercepted by Taven in the corner…only to knock him off the turnbuckle before nailing Bennett with the Swerve Stomp!

Strickland glares at the champ before hitting a House Call on Taven to keep him out of the loop…before dropping Taven with Big Pressure for the pin and the win!

Winners via pinfall: Swerve Strickland & Samoa Joe

Wardlow makes his way out to the stage to stare down Swerve…who gets choked out from behind by Joe! The champ raises his title in the air as he stares down his future #1 contender…and we get a graphic confirming the title match is on for Big Business next week!

Video Package: The history between HOOK and Brian Cage ahead of their FTW Championship match, which we find out is up next!

We go backstage where Renee talks to HOOK about the upcoming title match, but Chris Jericho steps in to talk about Taz and the connection he may have with the current FTW Champion. He talks about not having respect for the man before Sunday, but realizes maybe HOOK *is* the real deal. HOOK responds to this with “bet” and a fist bump before walking off, as we cut to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

We get a look back at Revolution and what Hangman Page was up to, before going backstage for a word from our EVPs as The Young Bucks promise “two huge announcements” in the ring later tonight. We get a sense that the tone is less than authentic from the EVPs before we go back to ringside.

HOOK makes his way to the ring for our next contest, defending the FTW Championship against a former champ and former Team Tazz associate Brian Cage, as the Machine makes his way to the ring next before this match gets underway!

FTW Championship: HOOK defends against Brian Cage

We’re reminded this match is contested under FTW Rules as Cage gets the early advantage on the champ, putting his power to great use as he mocks Taz before sending HOOK up and over with a trapped arm suplex. HOOK escapes the ring as Cage goes after him…only to get caught with a fire extinguisher blast from the champ!

This only infuriates the Machine as the fight goes to the outside, the champ finding himself on the wrong end of a throw to the barricade as we go to picture-in-picture!

Picture-in-Picture: The champ tries to fight back but Cage soon takes control once again, pulling out a guardrail for future use before continuing to toss HOOK around like a sack of flour. With HOOK trying to recover, Cage pulls out some weapons from under the ring before grabbing a microphone and cable with some bad intentions (as the audio technician in me starts getting heated), bringing the champ back into the ring as we come back from break!

Despite his best efforts in bringing the weapons into play, Cage finds himself in the midst of a small flurry of offense from the champ…who then slams a trashcan against the Machine before hitting a T-bone suplex that sends the challenger into the guardrail!

HOOK with some crossface punches that soon gets countered by Cage, who hits the champ with a powerbomb and a big throw for the cover…BUT HOOK KICKS OUT!

Cage leaves the ring, retrieving a bag before unloading a pile of thumbtacks onto the canvas. HOOK gets out and goes for Redrum, but is fended off by the challenger before HOOK connects with a kendo stick shot and a big suplex sending the Machine into the thumbtacks! HOOK with the Redrum…but Cage gets to his feet, dropping the champ into the tacks! HOOK still has the hold locked in tight, and Cage is fading…and he’s out! Ref calls for the bell, this one is all over!

Winner via submission and still FTW Champion: HOOK

There is no celebration for the champ, however, as Gates of Agony run in to beat HOOK down…until Chris Jericho runs down for the save! The Mogul Embassy regroup on the ramp as they stare down the Ocho.

Video Package: With the AEW World Tag Team Championship vacated following Revolution, a tournament will be held to crown new champs!

We go backstage where Renee talks to Orange Cassidy about losing the AEW International Championship, before transitioning to the Best Friends (Trent and Cassidy, not Chuck Taylor who is still out) entering the tournament for the tag titles.

Back at ringside, Killswitch makes his way to the ring as Christian Cage goes to the commentary booth for our next match. Daddy Magic comes to the ring next, and this match is underway!

Killswitch vs. “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard

Menard goes on the attack early on after Killswitch’s involvement in the TNT Title match at Revolution, but the fire Daddy Magic shows is not enough to fend off the former Luchasaurus for long, as Killswitch uses his power to wear Menard down for a chokeslam to get the pin and the win!

Winner via pinfall: Killswitch

Daniel Garcia runs in to stop a post-match beatdown from Killswitch, but Nick Wayne gets involved and takes him down! Cage comes in to taunt Garcia some more before the Patriarchy regroups on the stage…only for Adam Copeland to show up, laying out Killswitch and putting Nick Wayne to sleep! Shayna Wayne tries to get involved but is stopped by the Rated R Superstar, who chases after Cage who runs through the crowd to the backstage area…and into the parking lot for a getaway car! Cage drives off before Copeland can get to him, and he calls the TNT Champion out saying this has to end where it started…in Toronto!

March 25, Copeland-Cage 3, in an I Quit Match for the TNT Championship! We get word from commentary that the match has been made official before going backstage, where Renee talks to Kyle O’Reilly about his return to AEW. Kyle talks about a second chance to earn a living in this business and how excited he is.

Renee asks what happened between him and Undisputed Kingdom at Revolution, with O’Reilly responding that he realizes that in this second chance he has to do it on his own. Renee wishes Kyle the best of luck as he walks off, and we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

Video Package: A look back at Sting’s final match at Revolution this past Sunday, and his comments after the show for the fans that have showed him so much appreciation.

Back at ringside, Tony Schiavone talks up the final moments of Sting’s career before welcoming The Young Bucks to the ring. Nicholas and Matthew Jackson make their way through the middle of the stage, foregoing either tunnel as the crowd shows how they feel about the Bucks while the EVPs head to the ring.

Tony congratulates them on the beating they took on Sunday, which makes the Bucks angry enough to kick him out of “their” ring before addressing what happened at Revolution. Nicholas claims Sting and Darby cheated, but promise that the Bucks will win the tag titles after entering themselves into the tournament.

Matthew takes the microphone to make two huge announcements, the first being about two of their best friends. He addresses what Hangman Page did at Revolution, saying he has been suspended indefinitely…from The Elite, without pay.

Matthew then talks about Kenny Omega and the fact he has been missing dates for “no good reason” before saying Kenny is fired. Matthew gets ready to make the second announcement, but an irate Eddie Kingston makes his way to the ring. He addresses what happened backstage last week on Dynamite, telling the Bucks he might has well fine him now because he has things to say.

Matthew tries to de-escalate the situation, but hotter heads prevail as the Bucks beat the Continental Crown Champion down before looking to hit the BTE Trigger…and then the coins drop. Okada has arrived in AEW!

The Rainmaker heads down the ramp, looking to confront the EVPs…or maybe not, brother, cause Okada turns Kingston around for a Rainmaker! With that, Matthew announces the newest member of The Elite, “The Rainmaker” Okada! The three shake hands before leaving the ring, heading up the ramp as an angry Kingston stares them down.

Video Package: Will Ospreay made his in-ring debut as a full-time member of AEW at Revolution, and will be facing Kyle Fletcher later tonight!

Back at ringside, Kris Statlander makes her way to the ring for our next match alongside Stokely Hathaway. Out next is Riho, and this match is underway!

Kris Statlander vs. Riho

Statlander uses her power early on, but Riho uses her agility to fight back as much as possible…before Kris gets back into it, dropping the inaugural Women’s World Champion down hard for a nearfall. Kris stays on the attack, dropping Riho once again with a press slam as we go to picture-in-picture!

Picture-in-Picture: The former TBS Champion continues to wear down Riho with the power game, focusing on her back as she starts bending and twisting Riho on her knee before locking in a bodyscissors. Riho struggles to fight out of the hold, but Kris transitions back to a power offense as we come back from break!

Riho manages to get some offense in, catching Statlander with a Northern Lights suplex for a nearfall. She goes up top for a double foot stomp but Kris evades, catching Riho with a big lariat…and a second one…and a third one for good measure! Riho escapes a powerbomb attempt, sending Kris into the ropes for a tiger feint kick and a cross body off the top rope…but Statlander rolls through, hitting a dragon suplex for a nearfall!

Kris evades a running knee to drop Riho down for the cover…but Riho kicks out again!

Stokely puts down a chain for Kris to use, distracting the ref…but Statlander refuses to stoop to that low, dropping it to the outside! Riho nearly catches her with the opening, but Statlander gets a waistlock on the former champion…only for Riho to roll through and catch Statlander for the pin and the win!

Winner via pinfall: Riho

We go backstage where Toni Storm and Mariah May jokingly “fool” Renee before addressing the first-ever Toni award and hyping a new shirt before we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

Backstage, Renee talks to Stokely Hathaway and Willow Nightingale about what happened with Statlander. We then find out that next week at Big Business, Willow will take on Riho…and Nightingale is confident she will beat Riho, but plans to do it her way as she has her eyes set on the TBS Championship.

Back at ringside, Tony Schiavone welcomes Darby Allin to the ring. Darby walks down the ramp with his half of the AEW World Tag Team Championship, before Tony asks what’s next for Darby and how it feels going it alone.

Darby addresses getting to be part of the main event of one of the biggest PPVs of all time, before turning his attention to the upcoming trip to Mount Everest. He thanks the fans in case next week is his last match, since there is no guarantee of making it out of Everest alive. He was asked about teaming with someone new to defend the titles…but he can’t replace the Icon, Sting. He congratulates whoever ends up winning the tag titles, dropping it to the canvas as he looks to leave…but Bullet Club Gold arrive to have a chat.

Jay White talks about Darby and Sting, and the match they had at Revolution…before running down Darby, calling him a “lost little puppy” without Sting. He says the two of them don’t need to have their match next week, just like Darby didn’t need to jump off that ladder at Revolution. White says he can come hang out in the back with the Bang Bang Scissor Gang, and they already have a nickname for him…Darby Scissorhands.

Darby is having none of it, telling him the fight is still on for next week…and if Jay White wants to prove anything he can come alone. He says something in the ear of the Switchblade that frustrates him, but is confronted with a bat to the throat by Darby.

The group thinks better of it, retreating outside the ring as we go backstage where Julia Hart addresses what Willow said earlier before issuing an Open House challenge for Rampage, before we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

We get a vignette from the House of Black calling out Mark Briscoe ahead of a match on Saturday night, asking if they’re digging one grave or three. Briscoe responds backstage by promising that anything goes, whether he has to go it alone or not…but Lethal offers to help an old friend out. Briscoe doesn’t want Jarrett’s help but Jay says not to worry about trusting Jeff…but to trust Lethal. They fist bump, and we move to ringside.

Will Ospreay makes his way to the ring first for our main event, followed by the ROH World Television Champion Kyle Fletcher before this match between United Empire and Don Callis Family pals gets underway!

Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher

Crowd showing their love for Ospreay as we start off things here, and Fletcher keeps Ospreay down. Will fights back, but is taken down by a Fletcher shoulder tackle…only to get right back on his feet! The two exchange holds before Ospreay takes Kyle down with a headscissors! Fletcher sent to the corner as Ospreay goes to work, but Kyle stops the momentum…only to take a massive chop to the chest! Kyle responds by sending Will hard into the turnbuckle as we go to picture-in-picture!

Picture-in-Picture: The match goes back and forth between the two friends, each getting a good time to shine before Kyle takes control with some mounted punches in the corner. Ospreay looks like he’s still worn down from Revolution as Kyle takes him down for a nearfall, quickly transitioning to a chinlock before Will fights back to his feet. Ospreay takes a clubbing blow to the back but responds with some chops as we come back from break…

…just as Ospreay hits a big flying kick on Fletcher, sending him to the outside! Ospreay takes to the ropes for a big dive onto Fletcher afterward, sending him back into the ring for a cover…but Fletcher kicks out!

Will sets up for an Oscutter but Fletcher catches him by surprise with a teardrop brainbuster for a cover of his own…but this time it’s Ospreay who kicks out!

Kyle gets to his feet, offering a hand to his pal Will…before the two exchange chops! It’s Fletcher who ends up falling down from the impact, as Ospreay expects a response in kind…but Kyle hits him with a thrust kick to the jaw instead! Fletcher to the ropes, but Ospreay hits a rolling forearm before setting up for an Oscutter…but Kyle escapes! Ospreay catches him with a DDT, but Fletcher evades a Hidden Blade before dropping Will into the middle turnbuckle with a Snake Eyes!

The fight ends up on the apron now as Kyle lifts Ospreay up…but Will fights out of it, leaping to the turnbuckle for an Oscutter dropping Fletcher onto the apron and to the floor as we go to picture-in-picture one more time for tonight!

Picture-in-Picture: Both men struggle to their feet, with Kyle bringing Ospreay back into the ring for a nearfall. Will makes it back up to his knees as does Kyle, and the two exchange strikes before making it back to their feet. The strikes will continue until morale improves…or until we return from break!

Ospreay catches Kyle with a forearm sending him to the ropes, but Fletcher gets back up with some strikes of his own. Flurry of offense from both men now, until a reversal of tombstone attempts ends with a poison rana by Ospreay that sends Fletcher into the canvas! Ospreay up top, but it gets intercepted by Fletcher!

Kyle looking for a half and half superplex…but Ospreay escapes! Float over into a Liger Bomb by the Aerial Assassin, for the pin…but Fletcher kicks out!

Kyle escapes a Storm Breaker, dropping a big elevated powerbomb for a nearfall! Both men slowly getting to their feet as Will gets to the corner…and so too does Fletcher, who runs at Ospreay with a running kick! Ospreay escapes any further damage, hitting a Cheeky Nando’s in the corner followed by an elbow from Ospreay for the cover…but Fletcher kicks out once again!

Ospreay slowly brings Fletcher up, hitting a few kicks before Fletcher gets to his feet for a staredown with Ospreay. A few more strikes between both men leads to a set of escapes from both men before Ospreay gets a Spanish Fly on Fletcher for a nearfall. Oscutter connects, but Kyle STILL doesn’t go down!

Ospreay in the corner as Kyle gets to his knees, practically calling for Ospreay to take him out…and Ospreay follows through, hitting the Hidden Blade for the pin and the win!

Winner via pinfall: Will Ospreay

The two shake hands out of respect after the match, before Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring to stare Ospreay down as the show comes to a close!
