Canada: Abdullah was born Lawrence Shreeve in The Great White North -- Windsor, Ontario, Canada.. 1958: Abdullah began his career wrestling in various Canadian indy promotions.. Abdullah quickly created his evil Arabian gimmick and extremely violet style.. Abdullah was never supposed to be able to speak English, so he worked with several managers over the years.. ~~~Including Eddie "the Brain" Creatchman, J.J. Dillon, Gary Hart, Bearcat Wright, Rock Hunter, and many others.. October 23, 1967: Abdullah won the NWA Canadian Tag Team title with the legendary Dr. Jerry Graham.. Abdullah won the IWA International Heavyweight championship three times between 1969-71.. Abdullah won the NWA North American Heavyweight (Calgary) title on four separate occassions between 1970-73.. July 17, 1972: Abdullah helped set a Montreal record, wrestling against Johnny Rougeau at Jarry Park.. ~~~It was the main event of a card that drew over 26,000 fans and a $100,000+ gate..
