Karen Alex wrote (March 2011): HELLO… BIG JOHN QUINN HAS BEEN LIVING IN HOPE, BRITISH COLOMBIA…. HE RECENTLY RETIRED FROM CAB DRIVING, DUE TO A DIABETES INFECTION ON HIS FOOT TO THE POINT OF ALMOST HAVING HIS LEG AMPUTATED…. JOHN IS A GOOD AND KIND MAN THAT DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE FORGOTTEN, I HOPE SOMEONE WILL LOOK HIM UP AND CATCH UP ON HIS LIFE. I WAS A CAB CLIENT, AND GOT TO KNOW JOHN A LITTLE, I WAS REALLY SAD TO SEE HIM BECOME SO ILL SO FAST. I WOULD LIKED TO KNOW HIM IN HIS WRESTLE YEARS. THANX FOR YOUR TIME.
