Armando Nunez (Fayetteville, NC) wrote: Dick Steinborn had a susessful run on the W.W.C. He’s started as a baby face teaming with Carlos Colon. he was involved in the Colon’s arrest angle,in which he had a car crash involving Dinamite Jack Evans & Pretty Boy Larry Sharpe. They trumped assault charges against Colon. They had a championship match against Colon & Jose Rivera. This was a memorable moment becauseEvans & Sharpe came to the Hiram Bithorn Stadium on a helicopter. Jose Rivera announced That Carlos Colon was arrested & Dick Steinborn was subbing for him. The match ended in discualification when an enraged Colon entered the ring to attack the blondes. In the late 70’s he became a heel and started feuds against Colon , Rivera , Invader 1 and others. He once donned an El Santo mask and on a tv interview he began to give a plaque to Carlos Colon & attacked him. Mr.Steinborn won the W.W.C caribbean heavyweight belt & the north american tag team titles with Roger Kirby. He retired from W.W.C. in the mid eighties. Dick Steinborn is arguable one of the stars who left his mark on Puertorican wrestling.
