  • Orig Williams and his wife Wendy had one daughter – Tara Bathen – who is a TV presenter and singer..

Martyn Williams wrote: As a wrestler, Orig became a top of the bill notorious “heel,” but it was as an “inventive” promoter that he became known in many parts of the World. He fought against the Bholu brothers in Pakistan in front of massive crowds, and travelled extensively with the likes of Klondyke Bill, Jamaica Kid George Burgess, the Amazing Kung Fu, Chief Thunderbird to the Middle East, Pakistan, Oman, and Nigeria. He co-promoted the first Women’s World Professional Championship in Nigeria, and was the first promoter to televise women wrestling in the UK on the Welsh Channel S4C.

However, it was his roguish behaviour and the incredible scraps that he got into that are remembered by his fellow travelers which included William Regal, Dave “Fit” Finlay, Giant Haystacks, Mighty John Quinn, Adrian Street, Mitzi Mueller, and Klondyke Kate. Before his death, he knew that his latest prodigy had been signed up by WWE, and that would have given him enormous pleasure. Mason Ryan or Barri Griffiths from Tremadoc North Wales is on the verge of the big-time, ironically under the supervision of Orig’s close friend Dave “Fit” Finlay.
