NWA Belt.jpgHouston, TX – National Wrestling Vice President Chris Ronquillo has revealed the creation of a new NWA North American Heavyweight Championship belt, replacing and retiring the current belt, currently in the possession of the reigning NWA North American Heavyweight Champion Tokyo Monster Kahagas.

Kahagas won the championship from “Addictive and Expensive” Byron Wilcott in Houston on April 20 at the “Parade of Champions” tribute to Paul Boesch event. Kahagas, also a former NWA World and National Heavyweight titleholder, will debut the new belt on August 31 in Tampa, Florida at NWA Florida Underground Wrestling’s “Throwdown 6” event.

The new North American belt was created by JP Championship Belts, the official belt maker for the National Wrestling Alliance. JP Championship Belts also created the current version of the “Domed Globe” NWA World Heavyweight Title, which was unveiled in Houston on April 20 and is currently held by champion “Ironman” Rob Conway.

“After Jesse and Phil of JP Championship belts produced a gorgeous NWA World Heavyweight title for us that we debuted earlier this year,” Ronquillo said, “we immediately began working on new designs for the NWA North American Heavyweight title and the NWA World Tag Team Titles. We are very pleased with the results. We’re excited to debut the North American title now, and will be debuting the tag team titles in the very near future. We have also started working on new designs for the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight title, the NWA World Women’s title and the NWA National Heavyweight title.”
