Four championship matches will top the bill as New England Championship Wrestling returns to the National Guard Armory, 1000 Hancock Street in Quincy, MA on Saturday night, March 29th with a 7:00 PM bell time for MARCH BADNESS.
The main event, based on events that took place as last month’s GENESIS 7, will see NECW Triple Crown Champion, Big Rick Fuller, managed by Brian Cairo, taking on the most controversial man in NECW, “The Promise” Antonio Thomas. Last month, Thomas interjected himself in the championship match between Fuller and the giant-like Max Bauer, attacking both men. It’s an intriguing situation, as Fuller and Thomas, neither of whom could be called a fan favorite, will collide in a one-on-one battle for the gold.
Last Sunday, March 9, “The Portuguese Princess” Ariel won the coveted World Women’s Wrestling Champion from Lexxus in a controversial match that saw Ariel conspire with her new “agent”, Brendan Michael Thomas in an elaborate scheme to take Lexxus – and the rest of us – by surprise. On Saturday night, March 29, Ariel with Brendan Michael Thomas in her corner will face the former champion, Lexxus, in a rematch. Last Sunday’s match was one of the most intense battles in WWW history. Expect the same at MARCH BADNESS.
New NECW Television Champion, Handsome Johnny will defend his newly won title for the first time against former PWF Heavyweight Champion, Jason Blade. These are two top tier athletes in NECW going head-to-head with the belt on the line.
New NECW Tag Team Champions, Chase Del Monte and “Rocket” Fred Curry have issued an open challenge to any team that wants to take them on. Del Monte and Curry will be putting the belts on the line at MARCH BADNESS.
Max Bauer still has his sights set on the Triple Crown, but he will have to focus his attention on a major challenge as he takes on the two time IRON 8 Champion, “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards in a special challenge match.
The newly formed tag team of “The Human Nightmare” Evan Siks and “Nightmare” Nick Steel make their debut as a team taking on The Hot Shots, Bryce Andrews and Vain Valentino.
“The Golden Greek” Alex Arion with his sister, Elektra Arion in his corner, battles Team Cairo member, Scott Osbourne.
Also, Pat “The Brat” Piper returns with a live “Pat’s Pit.” His guest will be former NECW Triple Crown Champion, D.C. Dillinger.
Tickets for NECW’s MARCH BADNESS are now on sale at all FYE locations, K.C.’s Sports Cards, 133 Temple Street in Quincy Center and online at www.NECWwrestling.com.
