The Katz Files – Arnie Katz
My Weekly TNA Notebook
The Kingfish Arnie Katz wrestles with some of the major issues raise by the 10/15 “Super Impact” episode of TNA’s weekly TV show.

The MAFIA On Trial
Typical of the way TNA does – or doesn’t – do things is the last-minute positioning of Bound for Glory, allegedly TNA’s premier pay per view of the year.

Six Girls Six
The clear purpose of the six-woman tag team match was to further the coming confrontation between ODB and Tara.

The “Super iMPACT” show on 10/15 opened with a long in-ring segment that had Kurt Angle identify BfG as make or break for the Main Event Mafia, followed by having AJ Styles predict the death of the MEM at the pay per view.

This is a great idea – or at least it was the first two or three times they did it. Disjointed, contradictory continuity and too many turns and swerves have destroyed most of the interest in the Main Event Mafia, TNA hasn’t even been able to set up a babyface faction to oppose them; it’s different guys every month. TNA couldn’t even pick a name for the hero faction!

Will this be the PPV that actually redeems the oft-made promise of a climactic battle between Good and Evil? I’ll have my preview of the show, which will address that and other Burning Questions, posted this weekend.

Although they booked Tara to open hostilities with a Superkick that cost her team the match, it is possible that neither she nor ODB will turn heel. That seems like an odd way to go, since both women have played rulebreakers in the past, but they seem to be going for a personality clash.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back Sunday with a fresh installment of the Internet’s fastest-rising pro wrestling column. I hope you’ll join me then and, please, bring your friends.
