MVDOWW Women’s Wrestling Columnist Eric Holt chooses his M.V.D.- Most Valuable Diva(s) of the week, based on television matches, promos, and/ or segments.

On this week’s NXT, Paige defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Natalya in a match that I consider one of the best diva matches this year. Paige vs. Natalya was a great technical match. There were no missteps, botches, or anything like that. Everything about the match had a nice flow.

Natalya is a diva that can put on a great match with anyone. She’s one heck of a wrestler, and it showed during her match with Paige this week. I also enjoyed the aggression mannerisms Natalya showed as well. It’s not often that we get to see Natalya show aggression, and I would love for her to bring aggression to her character and matches more often. Natalya may not have won the match and the title, but she certainly put over Paige as a dominant champion.

It was great to see Paige defend the NXT Women’s Championship this week because it’s not often that we get to see her defend it. In fact, I believe this is her first or second title defense ever. Hopefully we will see her defend the title more often, especially after having a great title defense like this with Natalya. Paige showed a lot of aggression in this match, just like she does with all her matches. She looked like a dominant, fighting champion. The tension between her and Natalya brought a lot of fire and passion to the match, which was something that kept the fans invested.

Paige vs Natalya was the best divas match of the week for sure, and I love the respect both women have for each other. I hope to see both women compete in matches against each other someday on the main roster. Congrats to Paige and Natalya for being this week’s Most Valuable Divas.

Come back next week to see who will be the Most Valuable Diva of the week.
