MVDOWW Women’s Wrestling Columnist Eric Holt chooses his M.V.D.- Most Valuable Diva(s) of the week, based on television matches, promos, and/ or segments.

It may be Fall, but that doesn’t mean that Summer won’t make its presence felt, that is, if your name is Summer Rae. At Hell In A Cell, Summer Rae competed in her first main roster/PPV match when she teamed up with Fandango in mixed tag team action against Natalya and The Great Khali. The match was mainly centered around Natalya and Summer Rae due to their ringside altercations weeks prior to the PPV. In the end, it was Summer Rae that picked up the win after a roll up on the third-generation diva.

The next night on RAW, Summer Rae was in one-on-one action against Natalya. Despite putting up a fight against Natalya, outside shenanigans between Fandango, Khali, and Hornswoggle threw Summer off her game, and Natalya made Summer tap out to the Sharpshooter. Summer’s week didn’t end with RAW, because on NXT, she competed against Paige in one-on-one action. Summer Rae and Paige have been feuding for quite some time in NXT, and their match on NXT was going to add more fire to their feud.

Both women put on a great match as they always do, but it was the Paige Turner that proved to be the difference maker, and Paige won the match.

Summer Rae competed in three matches altogether this week, and whether she won or lost, she put on a great performance in each match. Summer Rae has came a long way with her career in WWE. She in my opinion is one the best heel characters in the divas division at the moment. She even gets crowd reactions, despite being a heel.

One of the things I like about Summer is the fact that she has two different heel characters that she displays in NXT and the main roster. In NXT, she’s the “blonde, high school mean girl” that puts down all the other girls. On the main roster, she plays the heel ballroom dancer. I like the fact that she has two different heel characters to work with at the moment because it shows the fans that she’s capable of playing any character that WWE wants her to play. As far as her match performances this week, Summer Rae looked like a veteran in my eyes. I feel that working with Natalya was a great thing for Summer because Natalya can put on a great match with any diva and bring out the best in them.

Summer held her own during her matches against Natalya, and she showed that despite being a rookie, she can compete against veterans like Natalya. Her match against Paige was as great as all of her other matches against Paige. Summer and Paige have great chemistry between each other, and I cannot wait to see the day that Summer and Paige get to compete against each other on the main roster.

Summer was in session this week for sure. Summer Rae’s amazing display of her heel characters, her main roster/PPV match debut, and amazing performances in the ring have earned Summer Rae to call herself the Most Valuable Diva of the Week!

Come back next week to see who will be the Most Valuable Diva of the week.
