MVDM.V.D. – Most Valuable Diva” is a weekly column where a WWE Diva or TNA Knockout is named the Most Valuable Diva of the Week based on their overall performance. The divas/knockouts that compete in matches and/or take part in segments automatically get nominated for Most Valuable Diva.

This week’s nominees for M.V.D. are:

Taryn Terrell: For the past few months, Taryn Terrell had a lot of tension with Gail Kim, and at Slammiversary, Taryn was looking to settle things by competing in the first-ever Last Knockout Standing Match against Gail Kim. The match consisted of “Holy Shit” chants and some great spots, including the chair crossbody, figure four leg locks around the ring post, and a cutter from off the stage. Taryn Terrell ultimately won the match and a lot of respect from wrestling fans. If any women’s wrestling fan called Taryn’s performance in this match a hot mess, they should visit the nearest eye doctor ASAP!

Gail Kim: The Veteran Knockout Gail Kim was ready to beat the hell out of the rookie Taryn Terrell. Going into this match, Gail was a bit egotistical about being the better woman, and in a way, she did make some valid points about it. However, at Slammiversary, she underestimated Taryn Terrell during their Last Knockout Standing match. Despite coming close to winning the match several times and be the last knockout standing, it was the veteran Gail Kim that was still on the ground by the time the referee counted 10, making her the loser. Despite losing, Gail put on a great match with Taryn and looked like the veteran that she is.

Stephanie McMahon: On RAW, Stephanie McMahon made a surprise appearance, and many of the fans were happy to see her. However, that soon changed after she announced that she was not going to allow Triple H to compete against Curtis Axel. The fans quickly turned on our beloved Billion Dollar Princess. It’s always great to see Stephanie make appearances, and she hasn’t lost one step, especially when it comes to her work on the mic.

AJ: AJ teamed up with The Bella Twins on RAW to take on Kaitlyn and The Funkadactyls. Now last time this match took place, The Bella Twins left AJ high and dry. However, this time around, AJ left The Bella Twins high and dry, and her and the twins ultimately lost the match. Great to see AJ compete in the ring, which we’ve been seeing a lot of as of late.

The Bella Twins: The Bella Twins teamed up with AJ on RAW to take on Kaitlyn and The Funkadactyls. Now last time this match took place, The Bella Twins left AJ high and dry. However, this time around, AJ left The Bella Twins high and dry, and her and the twins ultimately lost the match. I guess Kharma‘s (oops, I meant karma’s) a bitch! For a second there, I slipped into having a thought about Kharma coming back and destroying The Bella Twins. So don’t mind me.

Kaitlyn: On RAW, Kaitlyn teamed up with The Funkadactyls to take on The Bella Twins and AJ. The Divas Champion looked and fought like a champ in this match, and after The Bella Twins were distracted by AJ leaving them high and dry, Kaitlyn nailed a spear on one of them for the three count and the win. On Smackdown, Kaitlyn revealed to Natalya that her secret admirer is going to reveal himself on RAW in the parking lot. After Natalya found that to be a bit creepy, Kaitlyn insulted Natalya and said it would be creepy if the secret admirer wanted to meet Natalya. Ouch!

Naomi: On RAW, Naomi teamed up with fellow Funkadactyl Cameron and Kaitlyn to take on The Bella Twins and AJ. Naomi whipped out some exciting moves as always and her usual bootylicious booty bump. Ultimately, she, Cameron, and Kaitlyn won the match.

Cameron: On RAW, Cameron teamed up with fellow Funkadactyl Naomi and Kaitlyn to take on The Bella Twins and AJ. Cameron may not have a lot of wrestling experience behind her, but she’s not bad for a rookie, and she showed that during this match. Naomi or whoever’s training her is doing a great job. Ultimately, she, Naomi, and Kaitlyn won the match.

Paige: On NXT, the tournament to crown the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion began, as Paige and Tamina faced off in a first round match. The Diva Of Tomorrow Paige had a tough time against Tamina, and it looked as though she was going to lose the match. However, after Tamina unsuccessfully connects The Superfly Splash, Paige rolled her up for the win and advances in the semi-finals of the tournament. It would have been nice to have seen Paige get in more offense than she did.

Tamina: On NXT, the tournament to crown the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion began, as Paige and Tamina faced off in a first round match. Tamina dominated most of the match, but after failing to connect The Superfly Splash, Paige rolled her up for the win! On Superstars, Tamina looked to win her match against Natalya after being eliminated from the NXT Women’s Championship tournament on NXT. Great action between both, and Tamina looked dominant in this match, but after Natalya countered Tamina and got her in the Sharpshooter, Tamina tapped out and lost. Well Tamina, there’s always another time to win more matches.

Natalya: On Superstars, Natalya took on Tamina. Great action between both, and Natalya as always puts on great matches with anyone she competes against. After countering one of Tamina’s moves, Natalya locked in the Sharpshooter and made Tamina tap for the win. On Smackdown, after Kaitlyn revealed to Natalya that her secret admirer is going to reveal himself on RAW in the parking lot. After Natalya found that to be a bit creepy, Kaitlyn insulted Natalya and said it would be creepy if the secret admirer wanted to meet Natalya. Ouch! But hey, although she was insulted by Kaitlyn, at least she got a win this week. I am loving how WWE’s been using Natalya a lot more as of late by the way, and it’d be great to see her get some type of push in the future.

Velvet Sky: During a backstage segment with Mickie James on Impact, Velvet Sky wanted an explanation about why Mickie didn’t help her when Gail Kim attacked her. Mickie makes the excuses that Taryn stole her moment to save the day, and everything felt like a slow motion movie at the moment that was out of focus. Velvet shakes it off and tells Mickie that she wants her rematch tonight, but Mickie makes the excuse that Velvet’s knee is still hurt and she already has a match. Well, I guess the pigeons weren’t allowed to come out to play thanks to Mickie James.

Mickie James: During a backstage segment with Mickie James on Impact, Velvet Sky wanted an explanation about why Mickie didn’t help her when Gail Kim attacked her. Mickie makes the excuses that Taryn stole her moment to save the day, and everything felt like a slow motion movie at the moment that was out of focus and offers her an Impact Wrestling Georgia lottery ticket. Velvet shakes it off and tells Mickie that she wants her rematch tonight, but Mickie makes the excuse that Velvet’s knee is still hurt and she already has a match. That match happened to be against Gut Check winner Taeler Hendrix. Throughout the match, Mickie James praised Taeler Hendrix (in a very suspicious way). Towards the end, Mickie’s knee gave out, and after Taeler looks concerned about it, Mickie strikes her jaw and nails a Mick Kick for the win. After winning the match, Mickie makes the excuse that her knee gave out, but popped back in place. I am loving how TNA is building up Mickie’s heel turn. They’re having her trying to make it like she’s playing nice, but she has evil intentions.

Taeler Hendrix: On Impact, Taeler Hendrix competed against Knockouts Champion Mickie James. Taeler Hendrix put up a great fight against Mickie, and was praised by Mickie throughout the match for it. Towards the end, Mickie’s knee gave out, and after Taeler looks concerned about it, Mickie strikes her jaw and nails a Mick Kick for the win. After winning the match, Mickie makes the excuse that her knee gave out, but popped back in place. Great to see Taeler Hendrix compete on Impact. I’d like to see her compete more on Impact since she is technically part of the main roster. The girl even has her own theme music and titantron now.

This week’s MVD is…

Taryn Terrell! (in my Christy Hemme voice)

Taryn Terrell put on what’s probably going to be the BEST women’s wrestling match of the year against Gail Kim. She made history at Slammiversary by winning the first-ever Last Knockout Standing match. On top of that, she beat a veteran knockout. A lot of people may have thought of Taryn Terrell as nothing but a pretty face and someone that can’t really wrestle, but after her match at Slammiversary, I bet that everyone doesn’t think of her that way anymore. Taryn Terrell is more than just a pretty face, and she can hold her own in the ring. She’s passionate about wrestling, and she’s pretty damn good at it.

Come back next week to see who will be M.V.D. of the week. Thanks for reading!
