Bryan Danielson provides update on if he will wrestle again

From Wrestleview.com

  • Former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson was in London for yesterday’s Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn weigh-in. Danielson had an opportunity to speak with JNMedia’s Jamal Niaz.
  • Niaz asked Danielson if there is any chance he would return to an AEW ring to challenge Jon Moxley for the World Championship. Danielson told Niaz, his “neck is wrecked.”

“So, it’s not ‘no chance’ but it’s risk versus reward, at this point. I want to be able to live comfortably with my wife and kids. One of the things our society has a real problem with is realizing when enough is enough and I’m very satisfied with my career and I think enough is enough.”

  • When asked of everything he has achieved in terms of his career – winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 30 and winning the AEW Championship at All In 2024, between the two, which is the best ever. Danielson said that it was AEW All in at Wembley.

“…and the real reason behind that [All In], is because of the things surrounding the event itself, like having my family there, like my wife and kids being able to get the in the ring with me – knowing my career was coming to an end – it felt awesome and it just felt like something I was grateful for even happening.”

Danielson also when asked, listed off his Mount Rushmore of talent that he has wrestled. He noted that he has great chemistry with Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland.

Danielson also spoke about the Eubank Jr. vs. Benn fight which takes place on Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London. Danielson said he specifically is a fan of this fight, because the build is similar to that of a storyline build-up for a match in pro wrestling.

“I’m a fan of (Eubank Jr.) but I’m also a fan of the build to this fight. It’s like better than a pro wrestling build. It’s like they took so many elements from pro wrestling into this thing – the rivalry between the fathers, even the intrigue about Chris Eubanks Jr’s dad, that they’re not really in good connection – there’s so much drama and intrigue into this fight, but I’m a Chris Eubanks Jr. guy.”

Danielson has not been seen on AEW programming since dropping the World Championship to Jon Moxley at the WrestleDream PPV last October, which took place at the Tacoma Dome Danielson’s home state of Washington. However, Danielson has been involved in backstage aspects of AEW on the creative side of things since being off television.
