Travis Scott, holding the old WWE Hardcore Championship, comes out to the stage. He’s soon joined by “The Final Boss,” The Rock. The Rock shows off his goosebumps and shakes hands with Scott. Scott heads to the ring with the People’s Champion. This is an incredible crossover that can only happen with Dwayne Johnson.
The Rock takes his time getting to the ring and finally gets in before looking at Rhodes. Cena and Scott stand in the background. The Rock grabs Rhodes’s face and backs up. The Rock says, “Cody Rhodes, the moment has arrived. I will open my arms. You will come to me. You will embrace me as your brother, and I will embrace you as my champion. I want it all, Cody. I want your mind. I want your soul. And, God have mercy, I need your soul. If the answer is ‘yes,’ then the ‘American Nightmare’ will live forever. Look me in the eyes. If your answer is ‘no,’ then tonight, the dream dies… again.”
The Rock opens his arms. Cena is gesticulating in the background. Rhodes picks the microphone and says, “I want it all, Rock.” Rhodes continues, “My soul no longer belongs to me.” The crowd gasps. Rhodes asks, “And do you know why? Because I gave my soul to this ring and these people a long time ago.” The crowd cheers, and The Rock smirks. Rhodes says, uncensored, “Hey Rock, go fuck yourself!” The crowd ROARS!
Cena is excited, and The Rock is perplexed. Travis Scott is watching curiously from the corner. The Rock backs up. Rhodes shakes hands with Cena and hugs him. Cena looks at The Rock, and The Rock does the throat slash! Cena’s face changes! Cena backs up from Rhodes and kicks him in the groin! John Cena has turned heel! Cena grabs Dusty Rhodes’ gold Rolex and punches Rhodes in the face with it! Cena unloads on Rhodes with punches using the watch and smashes the microphone on his skull! Cena has sold his soul to The Rock! Cena grabs the Undisputed WWE Championship and smashes Rhodes in the skull with it! Cena looks at the crowd and holds up the title. The crowd loudly cheers.
Cody Rhodes is busted open, and he sneers at Cena. Cena sizes him up and hits him with the title again! The Rock is pleased as he looks on. Cena rips Rhodes’s shirt off and chokes him with his tie! Michael Cole cannot believe that Rhodes is stooping “to this shit.” Travis Scott grabs Rhodes’s arm and talks trash to Rhodes! Scott slaps Rhodes. The Rock then begins to whip Rhodes with a weightlifting belt that says, “Cody’s Soul.” Cena holds Rhodes down as the Rock slaps him twice with the belt. Cena puts a foot on Rhodes’s head and poses with The Rock and Travis Scott.
John Cena, Travis Scott, and The Rock leave the ring together. The crowd is stunned. A bloodied Cody Rhodes is left in the ring. The Rock smiles as the show ends.
