Bret "Hitman" Hart: The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and the Best There Ever Will Be

by Bret "Hitman" Hart with Perry Lefko

Description:This is a coffee table book and a disappointing one at that. Don't buy this book if you're expecting any great insights or detail about Bret Hart. The text consists mainly of captions to accompany photographs and is not even written by Bret, despite what it says on the cover. You'll read it in an hour (more if you spend time poring over the photos) and then wish you hadn't thrown your money away. Due to the well-publicised real life feud between Bret Hart and Vince McMahon, there are virtually no photos of his WWF career. The wrestling shots are almost all from his WCW days, which as most of you know, were fairly short-lived. The foreward is written by Roddy Piper and it's the only part of the book worth reading. There is a touching tribute to Owen Hart at the end, but it is lifted directly from Bret's Calgary Sun column written directly after the tragedy, so there's nothing new there.

Folks, if you're panting to read about Bret Hart and his life I sincerely recommend you give this one a miss and wait on his autobiography, which, from all accounts, is just around the corner and will be worth the wait.
