Brutus Beefcake Career Highlights

In The Beginning

  • 1977: Ed Leslie began his wrestling career teaming with Hulk Hogan in smaller promotions around the country.

World Wrestling Federation

  • Ed Leslie joined the World Wrestling Federation and became known as Brutus Beefcake (a male stripper).
  • 1984: Brutus Beefcake first appeared by walking out to the ring during squash matches by various babyface wrestlers.
  • ~~~Brutus Beefcake made it known that he was looking for a manager, so all the managers began offering themselves to him.
  • ~~~Brutus Beefcake would eventually choose “Luscious” Johnny Valiant to be his manager and guide his wrestling career.
  • ~~~Brutus Beefcake’s gimmick was originally portrayed as a male stripper, and included a lenthy video of him stripping at a bar.
  • March 31, 1985 – WrestleMania: Brutus Beefcake w/Johnny V vs. David Sammartino w/Bruno Sammartino ended in a No Contest.

World Wrestling Federation – The Dream Team

  • Brutus Beefcake formed a tag team with Greg Valentine known as Dream Team still managed by Luscious Johnny V..
  • October 3, 1985 – Saturday Night Main Event: Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine defeated Lanny Poffo and Tony Garea.
  • April 7, 1986 – WrestleMania 2: The British Bulldogs (w/Ozzy Osbourne) beat The Dream Team to win the WWF Tag Team titles.
  • August 28, 1986 – The Big Event: The Rougeau Brothers defeated The Dream Team (Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake).
  • October 4, 1986 – SNME: The British Bulldogs defeated Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine in a 2/3 falls match.
  • March 29, 1987 – WrestleMania 3: The Dream Team (w/Johnny Valiant and Dino Bravo) defeated The Rougeau Brothers.
  • ~~~Greg Valentine and Johnny V dumped Brutus Beefcake as a partner is picked up Dino Bravo and became Dream Team II.

  • Brutus Beefcake was dumped by the Dream Team and turned face, becoming known as Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake.

  • March 27, 1988 – WrestleMania IV: Brutus Beefcake defeated The Honky Tonk Man by disqualification. The Honky Tonk Man retains the Intercontinental title.

  • 1990: Brutus Beefcake was involved in a freak parasailing accident and was fitted with steel plates and bolts in his face.

World Wrestling Federation III

  • February 15, 1993 – RAW: Brutus Beefcake defeated Ted DiBiase by disqualification.
  • Brutus Beefcake returned to the WWF, but was brutally attacked by Ted DiBiase and IRS with a metal briefcase!
  • ~~~Hulk Hogan returned to the WWF and came to his friends rescue and set up a tag team match at WrestleMania.
  • April 4, 1993 – WrestleMania 9: Money Inc. (Ted DiBiase and IRS) defeated Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake w/Jimmy Hart by disqualification.

World Championship Wrestling

  • Brutus Beefcake followed Hulk Hogan to World Championship Wrestling, where Hogan quickly capture the World championship.

  • Brutus Beefcake (as “The Butcher”) turned on Hulk Hogan and joined the Three Faces of Fear with Kevin Sullivan and Avalanche.
  • November 16, 1994 – Clash of the Champions 29: Dave Sullivan, Hulk Hogan & Sting defeated The Three Faces Of Fear (Avalanche, Kevin Sullivan & The Butcher).
  • November 26, 1994 – Saturday Night: The Butcher defeated Larry Santo.
  • December 10, 1994 – Saturday Night: Kevin Sullivan & The Butcher defeated Barry Houston & Scott Sandlin.

  • Brutus Beefcake (as “The Zodiac”) then joined the Dungeon of Doom – whose sole purpose was the destruction of Hulkamania.
  • September 17, 1995 – Fall Brawl: The Hulkamaniacs defeated The Dungeaon Of Doom in a War Games Cage match.
  • ~~~Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage and Lex Luger and Sting defeated Kamala and The Zodiac and Shark (John Tenta) and Meng.
  • September 18, 1995 – Nitro: Randy Savage defeated Zodiac in a dark match.
  • October 29, 1995 – Halloween Havoc: Randy “Macho Man” Savage defeated The Zodiac (Brutus Beefcake).
  • November 26, 1995 – World War 3: Zodia was in the 3 ring battle royal won by Randy Savage.
  • December 9, 1995 – NEW: Brutus Beefcake defeated JL Storm.
  • December 9, 1995 – Saturday Night: Zodiac defeated Chris Sawyer.
  • December 18, 1995 – WCW Monday NITRO: Zodiac defeated Disco Inferno in a dark match.
  • Brutus Beefcake disappeared for a few months and returned under another gimmick.

  • Brutus Beefcake returned to WCW as “The Booty Man”, managed by Booty Babe.
  • February 26, 1996 – Nitro: Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage and The Booty Man defeated Ric Flair and Arn Anderson and Kevin Sullivan.
  • March 11, 1996 – WCW Monday NITRO: Hulk Hogan and Randy Savaga and The Booty Man defeated Ric Flair and Arn Anderson and Kevin Sullivan in a Lumberjack Strap Match.
  • March 18, 1996 – WCW Monday NITRO: The Booty Man defeated Arn Anderson.
  • March 24, 1996 – Uncensored: The Booty Man defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a Loser Leaves WCW match.
  • March 25, 1996 – WCW Monday NITRO: The Booty Man w/Booty Babe defeated Disco Inferno.
  • March 30, 1996 – Saturday Night: The Booty Man defeated Maxx Muscle.
  • April 1, 1996 – WCW Monday NITRO: Hulk Hogan and The Booty Man w/Booty Babe defeated Arn Anderson and Kevin Sullivan.
  • April 15, 1996 – WCW Monday NITRO: Hulk Hogan b Arn Anderson and Kevin Sullivan w/Jimmy Hart and Woman and Elizabeth in a Handicap Match with help from The Booty Man (After the match, The Booty Babe kissed The Booty Man – – Also, the Giant came down and chokeslammed Hogan, but Hogan popped right back up and bodyslammed The Giant! – In all the excitement, Hogan scooped up Mean Gene but came to his senses and put him back down).
  • May 6, 1996 – WCW Monday NITRO: The Booty Man defeated Disco Inferno in a dark match.
  • May 19, 1996 – Slamboree: Rick Steiner and The Booty Man defeated Scott Steiner and Craig Pittman in the 1st round match of the lethal lottery.
  • The Barbarian and Diamond Dallas Page defeated Rick Steiner and The Booty Man in the 2nd round of the lethal lottery later that night.
  • May 25, 1996 – Saturday Night: The Booty Man defeated The Gambler.
  • June 1, 1996 – Saturday Night: The Booty Man defeated Mark Kyle.
  • June 29, 1996 – Worldwide: The Booty Man defeated The Gambler.
  • July 27, 1996 – Saturday Night: The Giant defeated The Booty Man to retain the world heavyweight title.
  • August 3, 1996 – Saturday Night: The Booty Man defeated Johnny Attitude in a dark match.
  • August 5, 1996 – WCW Monday NITRO: The Booty Man defeated “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair by disqualification. Ric Flair retains the United States title.
  • Brutus Beefcake tried to join the new World order thinking he could bury the hatchet with his old friend Hollywood Hogan.
  • Hulk Hogan rejected Brutus Beefcake – and attacked the humbled Beefcake along with stablemates Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
  • Brutus Beefcake popped up a year later as a member of nWo Hollywood (no explanation), with a beard known as “The Disciple”.
  • ~The Disciple gimmick was a take-off of the WWF’s Disciples of Apocalypse, even naming his finishing move “The Apocalypse”.
  • ~~~The Disciple was once again the sidekick (or disciple) of Hollywood Hulk Hogan, doing all the dirty work.
  • When the nWo fizzled out, The Disciple became an average WCW jobber, even wrestling under his real name, Ed Leslie.
  • June 11, 1998 – Thunder: Lex Luger & Randy Savage vs. The Disciple & The Giant ended in a no contest.
  • July 13, 1998 – WCW Monday NITRO: Diamond Dallas Page defeated The Disciple.
  • September 28, 1998 – Nitro: The Disciple defeated Sick Boy.
  • October 5, 1998 – WCW Monday NITRO: The Disciple defeated Lenny Lane.
  • October 8, 1998 – Thunder: The Disciple defeated Horace.
  • October 24, 1998 – Saturday Night: The Disciple defeated Lenny Lane.
  • October 29, 1998 – Thunder: The Disciple defeated Tough Tom.

  • February 8, 2004: Ed Leslie voluntarily checked into a treatment program after cocaine he admitted was his created an anthrax scare
  • May 15, 2004 – EWF in Hyannis, Massachusetts: Brutus Beefcake defeated Jack Hammer (EWF Champ) in a non title match.
  • October 2, 2004 – Ultimate Championship Wrestling: Brutus Beefcake defeated Ricco Rodriguez (not the MMA Ricco Rodriguez).
  • October 23, 2004 – Rice Pro Wrestling: Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine vs Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson ended in a double count-out.
  • November 11, 2005 – Ted DiBiase’s Power Wrestling Alliance: Tito Santana and Jim Duggan beat Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake.
  • December 10, 2005 – World League Wrestling: Wade Chism defeated Keith Walker and Brutus Beefcake in a 3-WAY match.
  • January 20, 2006 – Patriotic Pro Wrestling: Operation Liberty (Patriots #1 and #2) beat Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine by disqualification.

  • Dale Pierce wrote: Brutus Beefcake travels to Indy shows now, carrying the same sturdy yellow suitcase he has used throughout his career. He purchased the suitcase in Japan in 1980 and this suitcase is in fact older than some of the indy workers he now shares the cards with.
  • October 7, 2006 – WCWA: Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake defeated Hank Calhoun.
