Long version:
(1) Quarterfinals, FIP World Heavyweight champion Jon Moxley defeated Sugar Dunkerton.
Dunkerton called Moxley an unshaven Roddy Piper and after checking the ball a few times, Moxley tossed it right into Dunkerton’s groin. Both men traded offensive strikes but Moxley tied Dunkerton in the ropes and hit a running dropkick for two followed by a suplex for two. Moxley missed an elbow drop and Dunkerton made him pay with chest chops only to run into Moxley’s standing elbow strike. Moxley grabbed the ball and slammed it onto Dunkerton’s head. Moxley went for a slam dunk but got rejected and then hit with a lariat for two. Dunkerton hit a backbreaker into a kick to Moxley’s back for two. Dunkerton countered out of Hook and Ladder into a pin for two but he got hit with a lariat. Dunkerton recovered and hit Air Dunkerton but got two and a half. Moxley had enough left in him to hit another DDT to win and advance.
(2) Quarterfinals, “the New Horror” Sami Callihan defeated Frightmare.
Both men started out hot but Frightmare took over with a gravity defying clothesline that sent Callihan to the floor. Frightmare followed out but got cut off and got tossed over the guard rail. Callihan took his eyes off Frightmare and paid when Frightmare hit a huricurana after using the guard rail as balancing beam. Frightmare tossed Callihan into the ring but his top rope move was countered into a sit power bomb for two. Callihan went to work on putting away Frightmare with submission holds but Frightmare either escaped or got to the ropes causing a break. Callihan mocked Frightmare has he tagged him with chest chops, Frightmare fought back with a reverse huricurana piledriver but couldn’t follow up with a pin. Both men traded chest chops but Callihan seemed to go to another place in his mind to block out the pain no matter what Frightmare hit him with. Callihan went to the floor and Frightmare hit a somersault plancha. Callihan had enough and grabbed some chairs for the ring. The referee warned him of a DQ but Callihan set the chair up in the ring. Frightmare countered out of a power bomb and eventually Callihan dropped onto the chairs allowing Frightmare to hit a swanton. Frightmare tagged Callihan with several hard hitting moves but he was not able to avoid being locked in the Stretch Muffler that allowed Callihan to advance in the tournament.
(3) Quarterfinals, “the Anarchist” Arik Cannon defeated NWA World Jr. Heavyweight champion Craig Classic.
This match began with some chain wrestling that saw the fans cheer for Cannon and boo every time Classic got a hold countered. Both men went after the left arm but it was Cannon who countered into a Cloverleaf with a muscle pose. Cannon flipped Classic over and leaned back on the ankle. Classic went to counter so Cannon grabbed Classic’s arms and rolled over into a more painful position for Classic. Classic recovered and was able to go up top and hit a missile dropkick for two. Classic kept on the attack using legal and some illegal maneuvers. Classic used several kicks and back chops to wear out Cannon but he paid when Cannon returned fire (no pun intended.) Classic tagged Cannon with kicks to the head and a running forearm to the corner followed by a Yakuza kick for two. Cannon ran into another boot but recovered to hit a neckbreaker for two. Classic fought back with forearm shots to Cannon’s face. Classic hit a suplex and went up top but missed his splash as Cannon sat up. Cannon went on the offense once more hitting Classic with several moves before going up only to miss his moonsault. Classic didn’t miss his kick or two German suplexes. Cannon briefly stopped the third but fell to it when he missed a clothesline. Classic went for a clothesline but got hit with an open palm strike to the face and fell to the Brainbuster.
(4) Quarterfinals, Rich Swann defeated Jigsaw.
The crowd was solidly behind Jigsaw despite Swann’s displeasure. Swann tried to outwrestle Jigsaw who countered every hold and pulled off a few that had to be witnessed. Swann went to the floor for some personal time and to figure out what the heck just happened to him. Swann used the referee’s count to his advantage and finally came back to the ring only be armdragged out of it. Jigsaw followed with a between the ropes spear into Swann. Jigsaw tossed Swann in the ring but got dropkicked off the top rope and Swann locked him into a leglock submission with some help from the bottom rope. Swann let the hold go only to inflict more punishment on the knee. Slowly it became a one man in the ass whoopin’ contest scenario that Jigsaw actually faired well in. with some clever moves. Swann kept going back to the leg even after being put in a small package. Swann quickly got to his feet and hit a spinning heel kick for two. Jigsaw shook the cobwebs and delivered a German suplex and a brainbuster for two. Jigsaw was ready to end the match with some chest chops but Swann fired back with a spinning head scissor that drove Jigsaw’s head into the mat. Swann had enough and went for his jumping 450 but landed on Jigsaw’s knees. Jigsaw went for the kill hitting a superkick but Swann ended up against the ropes. Jigsaw went for a DVD like hold but Swann slid off and rolled up Jigsaw with a handful of trunks in his hands.
(5) Semifinals, FIP World Heavyweight champion Jon Moxley defeated “the Anarchist” Arik Cannon.
Neither man looked like they were ready for their evening to end so it was serious looks on their faces at the opening bell. Both went to the mat for submissions but Moxley stopped the action by going to the ropes. Cannon went after Moxley’s left arm and wrist while Moxley used his right one to punch and toss forearms into Cannon’s face. Moxley got dumped to the floor and Cannon followed out with a baseball slide to the face. Moxley’s head was split open somehow as he followed up with head butts. Moxley tossed Cannon over the guard rails and into a wall but Cannon fired back tossing Moxley into a loading dock door. The action came back to ringside where Cannon laid in chest chops that welted up the champion’s chest. The blood ran down Moxley’s chest as Cannon went up top only to be cut off and superplexed back into the ring by Moxley. Moxley stayed on the attack working over Cannon despite possibly being blinded by his own blood. Cannon fired in clotheslines even as his arm got covered Moxley’s blood. Cannon had his Brainbuster countered into an RKO followed by an armbreaker submission but Cannon got his foot on the ropes. Cannon fired with several head shots and the Brainbuster twice getting two counts twice. Cannon went for a move but he was reversed and whipped into the coner the referee happened to be in. cannon stopped his body from colliding but with the referee masked, Moxley kicked Cannon in the groin and win with a small package.
(6) Semifinals, “the New Horror” Sami Callihan defeated Rich Swann.
Swann came out with his right shoulder taped as a result of a Jigsaw delivered German suplex in the quarterfinals. Callihan got tired of waiting for Swann to enter so he jumped him only to be sent to the floor. Swann followed out but his huricurana backfired and Callihan tossed him into the guard rails. Callihan tossed Swann back in the ring but his move got countered into a superkick for two. Swann went for the jumping 450 but missed and it allowed Callihan to lock in a submission hold on the injured shoulder to advance to the finals.
(7) In an 8 man tag match, FIP Florida Heritage champion “Man Scout” Jake Manning & ”British Lion” Christopher Gray (w/Ron Niemi) Chris Dickinson/Scott Reed (w/Larry Dallas & Christina) defeated Brad Allen/AR Fox/Grizzly Redwood/”Golden Lynx of Lucha Libre” Lince Dorado.
At times this was a super contrast in styles with the Lucha style guys mixing in with power guys. Manning kept checking his Man Scout manual to see if things were legal as each member of his unit was beaten down by opposition. Manning finally tagged in but immediately tagged out when Allen tagged into the bout. The crowd chanted “Girl Scout” as Manning threatened to leave ringside. Gray was tagged in to face off with Allen who was temporarily blinded by a boot to the face. Manning tagged in now that Allen was down and hurt moving him to his corner. As Manning broke a corner move he took the referee’s focus off Allen and that allowed everyone to choke Allen out. Allen fought back and eventually seven competitors had each other in submission holds. All but Redwood who used his lumberjack strength to turn all seven men over into a chain of Boston Crabs. Gray got to the ropes and broke everyone out of the hold. The high flying came into play as Allen and team mates each took out the opponents with a move to the floor. Dorado and Reed came back into the ring where Reed countered a move into a release German suplex. The action continued as Jake Manning was helped to the locker room possibly injured on the top rope fest. The match continued as Reed, Gray and Dickinson worked over Dorado who eventually escaped and tagged out to Allen who went up top but Niemi got his attention long enough to allow Dickinson to get to his feet and bring Allen down. Manning came back out to ringside but hit top rope move was countered by Allen who tagged out to Redwood. Manning and Gray went to hit Redwood with a double team suplex but Dorado stopped it with a move that let Redwood hit a double DDT. Each man got involved hitting the others with moves but the match ended with Christina getting in Redwood’s face the way she probably didn’t want to and Gray snuck in to roll him up.
(8) In the finals of the 2010 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup, Sami Callihan defeated FIP World Heavyweight champion Jon Moxley.
Moxley was still covered in blood as he made his way out with his head bandaged. He jumped Callihan in the referee patdown and it slowed down with a double clothesline. As tradition the other 14 competitors came down to ringside to observe the main event. Callihan ended up on the floor but Moxley didn’t follow him out. When Callihan did come back to the ring he trapped Moxley in a Tree of Woe before locking in the Stretch Muffler but Moxley countered before both men ended up in the ropes. Callihan ended up on the floor again and this time Moxley followed him out only to bring Callihan back to the ring where he hit a superplex for two. Moxley hit the Acecrusher and a power bomb for two then into an STF submission but Callihan fought out of the hold and locked in the Stretch Muffler but Moxley grabbed the bottom rope. Both men struggled to their feet but it was Moxley with headbutts that busted his own head open. Just when he thought he won, Moxley was rolled up by Callihan for the victory.
After the match Callihan said he finally proved to the wrestling business he was on the level of the FIP World Heavyweight champion. The other competitors gathered in the ring to congratulate Callihan as Moxley left ringside a bloody mess.
