Notes:
A packed Carolina Sports Arena was filled to capacity eventually
having to turn fans away for the huge DVD taping of the “Absolute
Justice” event.
Caprice “Ice” Coleman returned to action in Burlington, NC on vacation
from Kuwait. This definitely was a special appearance but was marred
by Jesse Ortega using the ropes to gain an illegal advantage to score
the tapout over Coleman.
Brad Stutts’ Fatback Enterprises scored a big win over the very
popular team of Marcellus King & Otto Schwanz. Stutts also issued a
notice to Commissioner Ty Dillinger that he was no longer sitting back
waiting for their opportunity to come their way from Dillinger.
Stutts announced that he would be in Greensboro next Saturday at AC
Fitness and that Commissioner Dillinger better be prepared to give
them what they want… or else!
Burlington was treated to a very special 8-Girls Action as Talia,
Cindy Rogers, Alere Little Feather and Becky Bayless made their debut
in the Carolina Sports Arena. Those four were joined by CWF
Mid-Atlantic regulars Amber O’Neal, GeeStar, Persphone, and Allison
Danger. This was a very fast paced bout that the fans especially enjoyed.
In the first half of the double main event, the Gemini Kid defeated
the ever-popular Kamakazi Kid in the Prison Yard Match. Both
competitors were ripped open from the barbwire wrapped about the ring
ropes as well as Gemini Kid receiving a large gash on his eye from
being punched with handcuffs.
The controversial victory came after Kazi had landed a top rope
assisted stunner while Gemini shocked Kazi with a taser. With both
men being counted down, Gemini grabbed referee Charles Richardson in
an attempt to use the referee to stand up. Meanwhile behind the
referee’s back, Kazi answered the ten count in what should have been a
victory only Jesse Ortega entered the ring and zapped Kazi in the neck
with the taser, knocking him back down.
As referee Charles Richardson escaped the clutches of the Gemini Kid,
he had not seen Kazi reach his feet, and continued the double ten
count. With the added time, Gemini was able to use the ropes to pull
himself up at the nine count and claim the tainted win.
However winning the bout was not enough for the hate-filled Gemini
Kid, as he instructed Jesse Ortega to attack the downed Kazi while he
slipped out of the ring to retrieve a crown of barbwire. Gemini then
unmasked the nearly unconscious Kamakazi Kid, stealing his mask, and
placing the barbwire crown on the exposed head of Kazi.
In the second half of the double main event, Lee Valiant stunned the
crowd by scoring the upset pinfall on “Simply” Steve Greene to capture
the Mid-Atlantic Television Title. The four corners “Everything to
Lose” bout had fans sitting on the edge of their seats the entire
match as it was clear that everyone was trying to win any of the belts
up for grabs in this contest. A series of near-falls saw nearly every
combination of title changes occur, until finally Valiant was able to
roll up Greene for the deciding fall.
The post-match celebration included Mid-Atlantic Tag champs, Rob
“Boogie Woogie Man” McBride & Tank Lawson giving their seal of
approval to the Neon Lions (Chris Collins & Lee Valiant), placing
their tag titles on the Lions’ shoulders, signifying that team was one
of the best teams in the Mid-Atlantic today.
Meanwhile Commissioner Ty Dillinger nearly had a heart attack with the
realization that his charge had lost his title. Dillinger grabbed the
microphone back from ring announcer Randolph Hedrick to declare that
Valiant was a marked man and so was anyone that dared to show up
Saturday night in Greensboro to face Destiny in their “Street Fight
Challenge.”
